Olympiacos Piraeus, the Euroleague back to back champions, hosted and defeated Unicaja Malaga for the first day of Euroleague 2013-2014. Starting five for Olympiacos Spanoulis, Perperoglou, Simmons, Printezis, Mantzaris. Starting five for Unicaja Malaga Suarez, Granger, Dragic, Hettsheimeir, Caner-Medley. Giorgos Printezis scored the first points of the Greek team. Jayson Granger started the game with an unsportsmanlike foul on Vasilis Spanoulis. Unicaja Malaga ran a 8-0 score and from 6-6 led the game to 6-14. Dragic and Hettsheimeir had a good first quarter but then the second disappeared. Sloukas and Spanoulis with three pointers finished the first quarter with score 18-22. Unicaja Malaga was leading the score for 30 minutes but when the fourth quarter started Olympiacos had a burst and in the end won the game by 8 points, 69-61.
