The president of ESAKE, Giorgos Chalvatzakis, announced that 12 out of 14 teams in Greek Basketball League OPAP have agreed with Nova satelite for 2+1 years. Panathinaikos and Olympiacos will negotiate independently for their games television coverage.

Trikala BC renew with Giorgos Fountas
Aries Trikala BC, newly promoted in Greek Basketball League, renewed the contract of the captain Giorgos Fountas.
Aries Trikala BC won promotion in First League after just one year in Second League. The team plays in the Municipal Stadium of Trikala.
Nikos Chatzis renews contract with Ilisiakos
Nikos Chatzis, 37 shooting guard, renewed his contract with Ilisiakos for two more years. Chatzis played 26 games in last season with Ilisiakos, scoring 7,2 per game in 15,8 minutes average, helped his team to avoid relegation.
The shooting guard from Kalamata holds the record for the most appearances in Greek Basketball League, counting 529 games since 1995.

Top two rookie players play for Aris Thessaloniki, with Panionios and Ilisiakos to also have two players in the list. Interesting that Giannoulis Larentzakis, who had a great tournament with Greek national team in U20 European Championship, is currently free agent.

Argyris Pedoulakis voted as best coach for Basket League Greece OPAP 2012-2013. Panathinaikos sweep against Euroleague winners Olympiakos counted the most at this decision. Voting in details:

Sofo will miss preparation due to quadriceps injury
Sofoklis Schortsanitis will miss the first part of the preparation due to an injury at quadriceps. Vassilis Kavvadas of Panionios BC has been called to replace Sofoklis.
Greek national team begins preparation for Eurobasket in Slovenia
The Greek national team will begin preparation for the Eurobasket in Slovenia on Wednesday 24th July in Karpenisi, Greece.
The players have passed medical exams at Metropolitan hospital in Athens, except Nick Calathes who is searching for his next team.

Giannakopoulos: "Panathinaikos has a complete roster"
Dimitris Giannakopoulos, president and owner of Panathinaikos BC, announced that the roster of the team is complete after contract renewal of Jonas Mačiulis and the addition of Shang Ping.
Giannakopoulos said that Mačiulis renewed his contract for two years and the team is waiting the letter of clearance for Chinese player Shang Ping. Panathinaikos added four national Greek players, Vladimir Yankovic and Nikos Pappas both from Panionios BC, Loukas Mavrokefalidis from Barcelona and Antonis Fotsis who returned after a year in Milano.
Giannakopoulos asked Panathinaikos fans to show their support by buying season tickets.
Greek Basket League to begin on 12 October with new transfer rules
The Hellenic Basketball Clubs Association (ESAKE) announced 12-13 October as the first day of the OPAP Basketball League 2013-2014.
ESAKE also announced new transfer regulations for Greek players. Team members of ESAKE can sign one Greek player that was playing for another team in this season, if his contract was mutually ended or there is a final decision from Financial Despute Resolution Committee.
Each club can sign maximum one Greek player with this rule until one day before the last match day of the first round.
