Fenerbahçe Ülker beat Olympiacos for Euroleague Top 16

Fenerbahçe Ülker beat Olympiacos Piraeus for Euroleague Top 16. Olympiacos played without its captain Vasilis Spanoulis and had problems in ball play. Bo McCalebb scored 20 points and the former Olympiacos' player Linas Kleiza scored 21 points. For Olympiacos Stratos Perperoglou and Kostas Sloukas scored 17 points each. Olympiacos now have to fight for better placing in the group.

EA7 Emporio Armani Milan beat Panathinaikos Athens for Euroleague Top 16. Panathinaikos had a bad first half and a very bad second quarter that let Armani Milan finish the first half with 15 points lead in score. With a counter attack mainly in the fourth quarter Panathinaikos lowered the difference but couldn't win the game. Panathinaikos lost and left behind in group standings, only benefit from the game is that Panathinaikos has the points advantage. Zack Wright in his debut with Panathinaikos in Euroleague had 17 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists. James Gist with 21 points and 9 rebounds was the top player of Panathinaikos.

Olympiacos signed Giorgi Shermadini

Olympiacos signed Giorgi Shermadini (გიორგი შერმადინი) till the end of the season. The Georgian center returns to Olympiacos, from CAI Zaragoza and ACB Liga, after 2012-2013 season when he was playing with the Euroleague champions. Shermadini came in Greece for Panathinaikos but played mainly with Olympiacos.

Aris lost by Apollon Patras for Greek League 19th day

Aris hosted and lost by Apollon Patras for Greek Basket League 19th day. In a very tight game where both teams wanted to win in order to skip the relegation zone and approach the play offs zone the winner was Apollon Patras after one extra time. Both teams were poor in three pointers with the home team having 8/30 and visitors 5/23. Aris collected more rebounds, 44 against 39, but made 20 turnovers while visitors only 12. Vezenkov, Pelekanos and Athinaou failed to win the game in the normal time since Lenny Daniel scored only one of the two free throws he shot in the last minute. In the extra time Aris scored the first two points but with partial score 4-12 Apollon Patras got a crucial and great away victory. For Aris Giannis Athinaiou scored 19 points, Alexander Vezenkov 14 and Michalis Pelekanos 13 points. For Apollon Patras Roland Ross had 20 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, Jeremiah Wilson missed another double double with 15 points and 9 rebounds, and Lenny Daniel had 14 points and 6 rebounds. The Greek players for Apollon Patras scored only 5 points, a team that totally depends on foreign players.

Ilisiakos sacked the coach Dimitris Liogas after the defeat by Nea Kifisia. Ilisiakos is in the last position of the Greek Basket League table and the team is the most likely team to relegate if something won't change soon.

Olympiacos beat Rethymno Aegean for Greek League 19th day

Olympiacos hosted and smashed Rethymno Aegean for Greek Basket League 19th day. After the defeat by Panathinaikos Olympiacos played against a team that does not play tight defense. With 7 players having double digit points Olympiacos reached 105 points with ease. Bryant Dunston with 18 points was the top scorer of Olympiacos and Justin Hurtt with 21 points the top scorer of Rethymno Aegean. Damir Latovic had 20 points and 9 rebounds. Kenny Gabriel had 6 points and 7 rebounds but also an injury in the game. Mantzaris also got injured in the game. With 10/21 three pointers, 10 turnovers and 37 rebounds Olympiacos had a very good game.

Panathinaikos' coach Argyris Pedoulakis used 11 players and shared the game time. For another game Errick McCollum was the top scorer and leader of Panionios with 27 points, 7 assists, 7 fouls drawn and 3 steals. Marc Carter added 10 points and 7 rebounds. Nea Kifisia hosted Ilisiakos for Greek Basket League 19th day. Ilisiakos is fighting to avoid relegation and every game is crucial. Ilisiakos was competitive only for one quarter. With 4/24 three pointers and 7 rebounds fewer than Nea Kifisia Ilisiakos didn't have many chances to win the game.  Nikos Liakopoulos with 17 points, Tony Crocker with 16 points and Dimitris Tsaldaris with 14 points were the top scorers of the winners. Tony Crocker made a double double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. For Ilisiakos the new players Eric Devendorf and Courtney Pigram were the top scorers and DJ Stephens added 7 points and 8 rebounds. In a crucial game Kolossos Rodou was leading the score for three quarters but Aries Trikala players were more focused in the end and won. Ramel Curry injured and will be out for a month

Ramel Curry suffers from a bone edema in the ankle and will be out for a month. Panathinaikos announced in its official twitter account that Ramel Curry injured in the game against Olympiacos and will be out of action for about a month.

Panathinaikos signed Zackary Zack Wright

Panathinaikos signed Zackary "Zack" Wright. The 29 years old American Bosnian was playing in Germany for Brose Bamberg and has started his professional career in Germany with SG Braunschweig. Wright has played in the Greek Basket League in 2011-2012 season for Rethymno Aegean. Wright graduated from University of Central Missouri.

Panathinaikos beat Olympiacos for Euroleague Top 16

Panathinaikos hosted and beat Olympiacos for Euroleague Top 16. Olympiacos score the first points with Dunston but Panathinaikos replied. Olympiacos was scoring and Panathinaikos was equalizing till Roko Leni Ukić with a three pointer put Panathinaikos first time in lead with 10-9. Giorgos Printezis with four consecutive points made the score 10-13. Panathinaikos made a 7-0 run and the score was 17-13. Stratos Perperoglou with 5 consecutive points made the score of the first half 19-18. In the second quarter Perperoglou reached 11 points, making the score 19-20. Panathinaikos made the score 27-23 but Olympiacos with a 8-0 run took the lead by 4, 27-31. Dimitris Diamantidis with an assist and a lay up balanced the game, 31-31. One minute before the half time Stephane Lasme won an unsportsmanlike foul from Brent Petway and didn't miss the two free throws. Half time score 35-33 with the two teams swapping the leading of the score. Vasilis Spanoulis finished the first half with zero points. For Olympiacos Stratos Perperoglou had 11 points, Giorgos Printezis 6 points and Mantzaris 5 rebounds in the first half. For Panathinaikos Roko Leni Ukić had 9 points, Dimitris Diamantidis 7 points and 4 assists in the first half. Panathinaikos made only 2 turnovers in the first half but Olympiacos had the rebounds. Second half started with a three pointer and foul drawn from Printezis and the score 37-37. Spanoulis scored his first points after 27 minutes and Mardy Collins with a difficult shot finished the third quarter with equal score, 47-47. Fourth quarter started with the first three pointer of Vasilis Spanoulis that made the score 47-50. Mike Bramos with a three pointer equalized the score, 54-54. Kostas Sloukas with a three pointer made the score 55-59 and Stephane Lasme 57-59. With score 61-61 Spanoulis and Printezis missed one three pointer each. Dimitris Diamantidis missed one free throw and the score was 62-61, 41 seconds before the end. Vasilis Spanoulis missed another three pointer, James Gist took the rebound and scored one free throw, 1/4 free throws for the American. 21 seconds before the end and the score was 63-61 for Panathinaikos. Ukić made the 4th foul of Panathinaikos 17 seconds before the end and Olympiacos called a time out. Matt Lojeski missed a shot and Dimitris Diamantidis won a foul 3 seconds before the end. Diamantidis scored one free throw, the score was 64-61 and Diamantidis made a foul 2.1 seconds before the end. Stratos Perperoglou missed the first free throw and scored the second. 2.1 seconds before the end with the score 64-62 Panathinaikos had possession of the ball and called a time out. Stephane Lasme won a foul one second before the end. Lasme scored both free throws and the final score was 66-62. Stephane Lasme was the top scorer of Panathinaikos with 18 points and Stratos Perperoglou for Olympiacos with 12 points. Vasilis Spanoulis had 6 points with 1/9 three pointers and Dimitris Diamantidis 9 points and 8 assists. Olympiacos collected 35 rebounds, 8 more than Panathinaikos but Panathinaikos made only 7 turnovers in the game.

Panionios lost by Bilbao for Eurocup Last 32

Panionios lost by Bilbao for Eurocup Last 32. Panionios didn't have motive since the team was counting 5 defeats in 5 games for the Eurocup Last 32 round. Panionios started with a 6-0 run but Bilbao with a 13-0 and took the lead of the score. Bilbao was ahead in score by near 10 points. In the third quarter Panionios lowered the difference to 3 points but Mumbru with three pointers didn't let home team any chance. In the five minutes Panionios made a 22-8 run but couldn't win one game for the Last 32 round in Eurocup. Elimination with six defeats in six games for Panionios and Eurocup will continue without any teams from Greece.

Olympiacos beat PAOK for Greek Basket League 18th day. In a very tight game without fans, due to penalty of PAOK, PAOK could won the game but with a dunk from Jamario Moon Olympiacos stole the victory in the last seconds. PAOK hosted Olympiacos without fans and without Giorgos Bogris but was very competitive. For PAOK Kostas Charalampidis was the top scorer with 14 points and Michalis Tsairelis added 8 points and 5 rebounds. For Olympiacos none finished the game with a two digits score, with Sloukas, Moon and Printezis having 8 points each. PAOK complains about the referees and their decision not to charge Olympiacos with a foul on DJ Cooper in the last attack.

In a very crucial game between two teams that fight to avoid relegation KAOD won and this victory made Ilisiakos the team most likely to get relegated. The game was tight but the most focused team in the end won the game. Stiggers scored only 4 points but all of them in the last minute. Pigram scored 23 points for Ilisiakos but missed the crucial shots. For KAOD Nikola Marković had 7 points, 11 rebounds, Julian Vaughn 15 points, 9 rebounds, Slaftsakis 5 points, 9 rebounds and J'Covan Brown 21 points.

Panathinaikos lost by Unicaja Malaga for Euroleague Top 16. Panathinaikos had a good first half but was bad in the last quarter and lost its third game in a row. Ilisiakos signed Eric Devendorf. The 26 years old Eric Michael Devendorf graduated from Syracuse University and has played in the NBA Development League with the Reno Bighorns, then moved to New Zealand for Waikato Pistons and Wellington Saints, Australia for Melbourne Tigers, Torku Selcuk Universitesi in Turkey, then back to NBA Development League for Idaho Stampedebe. Panathinaikos defeated Aris with 90-53 in Greek Cup Final 2014

Panathinaikos smashed Aris with 90-53 for the Greek Cup Final 2014. Aris was competitive only in the first half. First half finished with equal score for the two teams but in the second half Panathinaikos made a 15-0 run and cleared the game. Ramel Curry was the top scorer for Panathinaikos with 17 points but Jonas Mačiulis with his three pointers and Dimitris Diamantidis with his guidance helped their team win the game in the third quarter. For Aris Lefteris Bochoridis was the top scorer with Giannis Athinaiou, Alexander Vezenkov and Michalis Pelekanos helping in score mainly in the first half. This was the fiftteenth and third consecutive Greek Cup for Panathinaikos. Aris remains with 8 Greek Cup wins.

Panionios started better and was leading first quarter but Nea Kifisia took the lead in the second quarter and kept it until the end. Apollon Patras lost by PAOK for Greek Basket League 17th day. Apollon Patras needed the victory in order to avoid relegation zone and move up for the play offs. First quarter was almost equal but PAOK with a burst in the second quarter and partial score 13-28 created a secure difference. Apollon Patras counter attacked and lowered the difference so that it took the lead with score 70-67. Roland Ross missed the crucial free throws in the end, Charalampidis and Kaselakis didn't miss their free throws and PAOK won a tight and crucial game. Panionios beat KAOD for Greek Basket League 16th day. Panionios was better for three quarters and was leading the score by 20 points in the end of the third quarter. In the last quarter Panionios blacked out and with partial score 5-19 KAOD lowered the final score to 6 points difference. For Panionios Errick McCollum scored 21 points and Marc Carter 14 points. Gaios Skordilis scored 4 points and collected 9 rebounds. For KAOD Edin Bavčić scored 15 points, Julian Vaughn had 7 points and 6 rebounds and Nikola Marković 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 steals.

PAOK defeated Rethymno Aegean for Greek League 16th day

PAOK hosted and defeated Rethymno Aegean for Greek Basket League 16th day. Rethymno Aegean started the game more offensive than PAOK and with Kalampokis, Koumpouras and Wright took the lead. PAOK managed to counter attack and took the lead for the rest of the game. PAOK was better in three pointers, 11/20 while Rethymno Aegean had only 6/19. Giorgos Bogris had 15 points and 7 rebounds, Mark Payne 12 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists, and DJ Cooper 7 points and 5 assists. For Rethymno Aegean Derek Wright scored 31 points, Giannis Kalampokis 21 points and Callistus Eziukwu 20 points.

With Panagiotis Kafkis, Periklis Dorkofikis and DJ Stephens scoring 31 points together Ilisiakos broadened its lead in the half time to 12 points. Ilisiakos signed Courtney Pigram. The 28 years old American replaced Kevin Anderson who left the club earlier this week. Pigram played in Spain for BC Andorra and then in China for Heilongjiang Zhaozhou Feng Shen before being drafted in the 5th round of the 2011 NBA Development League Draft by the Idaho Stampede. Earlier this season Pigram played for Phantoms Braunschweig in the German Basketball Bundesliga.

Panathinaikos scored the first two points but Barcelona replied with a 10-0 run before Argyris Pedoulakis asked for a time out.
