Panathinaikos beat Kolossos Rodou for Greek League 23rd day

Panathinaikos hosted and defeated Kolossos Rodou for Greek Basket League 23rd day. Kolossos Rodou had only victory against Panathinaikos in 19 games and this was for the play offs. Panathinaikos' coach Fragiskos Alvertis used all available players and the team had its ups and downs. Panathinaikos started with a 20-8 score that Kolossos made 28-24, Panathinaikos made it again 35-24 and the first half finished with score 49-45. In the second half Panathinaikos was better and Kolossos Rodou couldn't follow the rotation so the difference went up to two digits. All twelve players of Panathinaikos played and scored at least two points. Stephane Lasme had 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists, Roko Leni Ukić scored 8 points with 4/4 shots and no turnovers, Ramel Curry had 14 points. For Kolossos Rodou Kostas Kakaroudis and Mladen Pantić scored 18 points each, with Kakaroudis having 6 rebounds and Pantić 8 rebounds too. Nontas Papantoniou scored 8 points and missed a unique double double since he also had 10 assists. Taylor Smith had 10 points and 6 rebounds.

Panionios beat PAOK for Greek League 23rd day

Panionios hosted and defeated PAOK for Greek Basket League 23rd day. Panionios had won PAOK in the first round game by 91-100 in Thessaloniki. Panionios was leading the score in the first half and PAOK balanced the game in the second one. In the last minutes Kostas Charalampidis scored a three pointer, Errick McCollum didn't score and the game went to extra time. In the extra time DJ Cooper was leading PAOK but he also was the crucial player that missed the final attack. In a very productive game, where the partial total score of each quarter was more than 35 points, Panionios had more rebounds and less turnovers. The two teams had the same three pointers 10/26 and the same successful field goals 22 with the home team shooting 6 more than PAOK. For Panionios Errick McCollum had 20 points, Vasilis Simtsak had 12 points, 9 rebounds and Giannis Athanasoulas had 6 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals. Kenny Gabriel named MVP of 22nd day

Kenny Gabriel named MVP of the 22nd day of the Greek Basket League for his performance against KAOD. Gabriel had 26 points, 10 rebounds and 2 steals in the game and his ranking score was the highest of the day. This was the second time Gabriel is named MVP of the day after 18th day against Apollon Patras.

Nikos Chatzis became the top scorer of the Greek Basket League

Nikos Chatzis became the top scorer of the Greek Basket League. With the 19 points that he scored against Ikaros Chalkidas, Nikos Chatzis passed Angelos Koronios and is now the top scorer of all times of the Greek Basket League. Nikos Chatzis now has 5184 points and will be playing for at least the end of this season, while Angelos Koronios who has retired had 5170 points.

Nea Kifisia hosted and beat Rethymno Aegean for Greek Basket League 23rd day. Nea Kifisia played without Tony Crocker who had a knee surgery earlier this week. The home team with high shot accuracy and 14 more rebounds controlled the game, although Nea Kifisia had double turnovers than Rethymno. For Nea Kifisia Giannis Psathas had 16 points and 6 rebounds, Dimitris Tsaldaris had 20 points and Nikos Liakopoulos had 13 points and 8 assists. For Rethymno Aegean had Luka Drča had 14 points, Kenny Gabriel had 10 points and 5 rebounds, Eziukwu had 10 points and 4 rebounds.

Ilisiakos hosted and defeated Ikaros Chalkidas for Greek Basket League 23rd day. In the crucial game between two teams that fight to avoid relegation Ilisiakos won with a historic game by Nikos Chatzis. The veteran player had 19 points and became the top scorer of all times in the Greek Basket League. Ilisiakos made only 15 fouls against 26 of Ikaros Chalkidas, so the free throws were 22/31 for the home team and 7/8 for the guests. Besides Chatzis, Cheikh Mbodj had 15 points and Stelios Ioannou 17 points and 9 rebounds. For Ilisiakos only 6 players scored with Anthony Roberson having 22 points and Ryan Richards making a double double with 10 points and 11 rebounds. KAOD hosted Apollon Patras for Greek Basket League 23rd day. First quarter was balanced in the start but Apollon Patras finished it with a 7-0 run and 8 points lead. In the second quarter KAOD managed to lower the difference to 5 points. Julian Vaughn had 14 points and 9 rebounds in the first half while his team had 1/8 three pointers. For Apollon Patras Ross, Petrovic and Milutinovic finished first half with two digits score. Apollon Patras controlled the game in the third quarter and was leading the score by 73-59 before KAOD made its counter attack. In the end Apollon Patras won by two points in a court that many great teams have lost. Massive game by Julian Vaughn that break the ranking system with a performance rated with 42. Vaughn had 25 points, 17 rebounds, 3 blocks and 7 fouls drawn. No doubt that he will be the MVP of the day. For Apollon Patras Roland Ross had 19 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Aris hosted and defeated Panelefsiniakos for Greek Basket League 23rd day. It was the first game after Athinaiou left the club for Italy. Aris was good at three pointers in the first half and allowed Panelefsiniakos to score only 9 points in the second quarter. Antonis Asimakopoulos had 3/3 three pointers in the first half while Panelefsiniakos had only 2/10 three pointers. Panelefsiniakos counter attacked in the third quarter and lowered the difference to three points, 40-37, but that was all. In the last quarter Aris controlled and won the game. Barcelona beat Panathinaikos for Euroleague Top 16

Barcelona continue its winning record and beat Panathinaikos for Euroleague Top 16. Panathinaikos was leading the score in the first quarter, was following Barcelona in the second quarter but couldn't follow in the second half and lost by 22 points. Alejandro Abrines, Erazem Lorbek and Ante Tomic were the top players of Barcelona. For Panathinaikos only the captain Dimitris Diamantidis had two digits score and ranking. Panathinaikos now needs to win Unicaja Malaga in Athens for the forthcoming day of Euroleague in order to qualify in the next round.

Olympiacos beat Malaga for Euroleague Top 16 for second time after the victory in Piraeus Greece. The captain Vasilis Spanoulis returned with 20 points and Mat Lojeski helped with 18 points. Vangelis Mantzaris had 2 points but 9 assists and no turnovers, while Brent Petway had 9 points and 7 rebounds. A victory after consecutive defeats for Euroleague winners and now they are back in track.

Kolossos Rodou and Nestoras Kommatos part ways. Kommatos started this season with Aries Trikala but released the veteran player in November. Kolossos Rodou announced that Nestoras Kommatos will not continue with the team due to personal problems.

Guaros de Lara signed Jamario Moon

Jamario Moon will continue his career in the Liga Profesional de Baloncesto of Venezuela with Guaros de Lara. Olympiacos and Moon parted ways only two months after the two sides agreed terms. Guaros de Lara is currently at the sixth place of the League and in the most recent game the team lost by Gigantes de Guayana by 65-71.

Tony Crocker had a knee injury and surgery

Tony Crocker of Nea Kifisia AENK had a knee surgery. Crocker is the top scorer of Nea Kifisia but couldn't play for the past two weeks due to an injury of meniscus. The medical team of AENK decided that Crocker should have a surgery now so that he will be ready for the play offs.

Aris and Giannis Athinaiou part ways

Aris announced that parted ways with Giannis Athinaiou. Aris didn't want to release the player but Athinaiou wanted to continue his career in Italy with Armani Milano. In this season Athinaiou played 22 games with Aris and had 13,4 points, 3,3 assists and 2,5 rebounds in average per game.

Olympiacos hosted and beat Panelefsiniakos for Greek Basket League 22nd day. Olympiacos played without Vasilis Spanoulis, Giorgos Printezis and Stratos Peperoglou. Panelefsiniakos was following the score for more than a quarter but the half time finished with 8 points difference. In the second half the difference was broadening and reached 30 points in the end. The young Giannis Papapetrou was the top scorer of Olympiacos and the highlight of the game. Olympiacos had 30/37 free throws but only 4/17 three pointers. Panelefsiniakos made 22 turnovers. For Panelefsiniakos Kyles had 14 points and 4 rebounds, Nikou had 2 points and 7 assists, Mouhammad Faye had 14 points and 5 rebounds. KAOD had won Rethymno Aegean twice in Drama, with the last victory being the first round game, but has never won in Rethymno. The home team was much better than KAOD in the first half when the difference reached 16 points. KAOD reacted in the second half and lowered the difference but couldn't do anything better but to lose by 5 points. Rethymno Aegean won and covered the difference of one point that lost in the first round game. Kenny Gabriel was the top scorer of the game with another double double, 26 points, 10 rebounds and 2 steals. Callistus Eziukwu had 8 points, 7 rebounds and Justin Hurtt had 15 points and 5 rebounds. PAOK hosted and defeated Nea Kifisia for Greek Basket League 22nd day. Nea Kifisia had won the first round game by 9 points. PAOK played without Mark Payne and Nea Kifisia without Tony Crocker. PAOK started better and was leading the score for three quarters but Nea Kifisia managed to balance the game and equalize it in the end. The game went to extra time where PAOK won by nine points. Great game by Kostas Charalampidis who scored 29 points. DJ Cooper had 6 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Double double for the veteran Michalis Kakiouzis who had 12 points, 13 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. Nikos Liakopoulos had 17 points, 7 assists and 4 rebounds. PAOK seems to secure the fourth position in the regular season.

Apollon Patras hosted Aries Trikala for Greek Basket League 22nd day. In the first round game Trikala won by 3 points Apollon Patras in the first game between two teams for the Greek League. Apollon Patras was better in the first half, with high accuracy in both field gols and three pointers, while Aries Trikala had 2/12 three pointers. Aries Trikala with Mario Matalon improved in the third quarter lowered the difference to 5 points, 50-45. Fourth quarter started again with a goal foul by Matalon which lowered the difference to 2 points. Apollon Patras replied with a 5-0 run and then Trikala's coach was charged with a technical foul. Stefan Perunicic with two three pointers secured the victory for his team and Mario Matalon gave his team a two digits difference. This was the first away victory for Aries Trikala. For Apollon Patras Jeremiah Wilson had 20 points, 10 rebounds and Lenny Daniel 8 points and 10 rebounds. For Aries Trikala Stefan Perunicic and Patrick Ewing Jr had 14 points each, Chris Evans 13 points and Marios Matalon 11 points. Patrick Ewing Jr made another double double since he collected 11 rebounds too while Chris Evans had 8 rebounds and 3 assists.

Ilisiakos lost by Aris for Greek League 22nd day

Ilisiakos hosted Aris for Greek Basket League 22nd day. Iliakos and Aris had played 11 games for Greek Basket League and Aris have won all of them. Ilisiakos started good and was leading the score with 9-7 before Aris made a 2-10 run and finish first quarter with score 11-17. In the second quarter Ilisiakos scored only 9 points and finished the first half with 20 points, a very poor game. In the first half Ilisiakos had 6/10 free throws, 4/26 field goals and 2/8 three pointers. Ilisiakos was missing the shots and Aris was collecting the rebounds with total 32 in the first half against 19 of Ilisiakos. In the second half Ilisiakos started with a 11-3 run and finished with partial quarter score 24-12 and one point lead, 44-43. Last quarter started with Ilisiakos leading the score but the home team blacked out and didn't score for 9 minutes(!!). Aris made a 14-0 run and took back the lead and won the game. Ilisiakos will be relegated in the second division but was fighting in most games, this game was just very bad for the team. The team didn't score for 9 minutes in the fourth quarter and scored 7 points total in the last minute. With 13/50 field goals and 4/20 three pointers from Ilisiakos Aris had the chance to collect 54 rebounds. Aris was also bad in three pointers with 3/22 but had 19/34 field goals. Cheikh Mbodj collected 12 rebounds but had only 2 points by free throws and 0/5 field goals. For Ilisiakos only Stelios Ioannou with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 3 steals was positive. For Aris Michalis Pelekanos and Giannis Athinaiou had 17 points each. Alexander Vezenkov collected 12 rebounds and had 8 points while Asimakopoulos collected 10 rebounds without scoring a point.

Kolossos Rodou signed Bryan Hopkins. The third addition for Kolossos Rodou this week, after Plantic and Kakaroudis. The 30 years old American point guard was playing in Israel for Maccabi Rishon. Second player from Maccabi Rishon that came to Greece this season, after Lazeric Jones of KAOD. Before Israel Hopkins was in Belgium for Antwerp and Liege, and before that in Ukraine for Halychyna.

Panathinaikos beat Fenerbahçe Ülker for Euroleague TOP 16

Panathinaikos hosted and defeated Fenerbahçe Ülker for Euroleague TOP 16. This was the first game that Obradović played in OAKA Athens as coach of the opponent team, after he left Panathinaikos. Fenerbahçe Ülker won the first game in Istanbul by five points, 77-72, and has also won Olympiacos for the TOP 16  Fenerbahçe started better the game and was leading the score 12-19 in the first quarter, that finished with score 16-19. Panathinaikos balanced the game in the second quarter and the leading of score was changing sides. Half time finished with Panathinaikos leading the score by 4 points, 41-37, with a goal foul scored by Dimitris Diamantidis. Panathinaikos collected 6 more rebounds in the first half but also made 3 more turnovers. In the fist half Zach Wright had 10 points and Mike Batiste 5 rebounds. In the second half Fenerbahçe made a 6-0 run since Panathinaikos didn't score in the first 3 minutes and 20 seconds. Dimitris Diamantidis with a three pointer scored for Panathinaikos and took back the lead in score. Mike Bramos with another three pointer made the score 50-45. Bramos had 4/4 three pointers and 1/1 field goals up to that point. With six consecutive points by Antonis Fotsis Panathinaikos finished third quarter with a lead of 9 points, 58-49. In the fourth quarter Bramos scored his 5th three pointer (5/5 up to that point) and gave his team a lead of 12 points and with his sixth three pointer (6/6) Panathinaikos reached the highest difference +15 (66-51). Fenerbahçe tried to approach Panathinaikos but Dimitris Diamantidis with free throws and Mike Bramos with three pointers secured the victory for Panathinaikos. Panathinaikos won by 9 points and covered the difference of the first game. For Panathinaikos Mike Bramos was the top scorer with 23 points (7/8 three pointers, 1/1 field goals, 4 rebounds). Dimitris Diamantidis had 15 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists, 4 steals and 11 fouls drawn. Antonis Fotsis had 10 points and 9 rebounds.

Željko Obradović returns to Athens

Željko Obradović returns to Athens for the first time as the opponent coach of Panathinaikos. Obradović was the head coach of Panathinaikos from 1999 to 2012 and won 11 Greek Championships, 7 Greek Cups and 5 Euroleague titles with the team. Panathinaikos' current head coach Fragiskos Alvertis was Panathinaikos' captain when Obradović was the coach and they had a special relationship.

Giorgos Printezis was playing with a broken rib

Giorgos Printezis missed couple games with Olympiacos because he was complaining about pain in his back. After medical exams the doctors found that Printezis has a broken rib and was playing with it for about two months. Printezis will probably won't play in the forthcoming Euroleague game with Olympiacos in order to recover.

Kolossos Rodou signed Mladen Pantić

Kolossos Rodou signed Mladen Pantić. This is the third time Pantić plays in Greece, after Kavala BC and Ikaros Kallitheas. The 31 years old Serbian had won the Serbian National Cup two times with FMP Železnik. This season Pantić was playing for KK Borac Čačak in the Serbian League.

Kolossos Rodou parted ways with Bambale Osby

Kolossos Rodou parted ways with Bambale Osby. Osby played 34 with Kolossos Rodou in Greek Basket League and had 9,9 points and 5 rebounds in average per game. Osby will continue his career in Lithuanian League for Siauliai BC.

Chris Evans named MVP of 21st day

Chris Evans named MVP of 21st day for his performance against Rethymno Aegean. Evans scored 25 points (6/10 field goals, 3/7 three pointers, 4/5 free throws), collected 12 rebounds, served 1 assist and made two steals in 35 minutes. This is the first day MVP title for Evans and the third for Aries Trikala in the season, after two day MVP titles for Patrick Ewing Junior.

Panathinaikos hosted Ilisiakos for Greek Basket League 21st day. Panathinaikos was counting 11 victories in 11 games against Ilisiakos, a team that is fighting to avoid relegation. Ilisiakos played without DJ Stephens, a big loss for the team. First quarter was a game between the first and the last team of the league. Without tight defense Panathinaikos had 4/6 three pointers. The game was like a training for Panathinaikos and the coach Fragiskos Alvertis made his debut as coach in the Greek League. Diamantidis and Maciulis didn't play so that they will rest for Euroleague games. With 12/28 three pointers Panathinaikos played open against Ilisiakos that approached to 5 points couple minutes before the end but Nikos Pappas secured the victory for his team. Mike Bramos had 17 points, Antonis Fotsis 11 points and 9 rebounds, Nikos Pappas 16 points. For Ilisiakos Courtney Pigram had 14 points, Cheikh Mbodj 12 points and 7 rebounds, Savvas Tzougarakis 12 points and the veteran Nikos Chatzis 8 points and 7 assists.

Ilisiakos and DJ Stephens part ways. The American left Athens on Friday and is searching a new contract in USA. DJ Stephens had a good season but Ilisiakos was in the bottom of the league table and will probably relegate to the second division. In 18 games Stephens had an average of 9,78 points and 8,83 rebounds per game. DJ Stephens left Greek Basket League while he was second in rebounds (159), first in blocks (40) and fourth in turnovers (64). DJ Stephens will probably continue his career in Milwaukee Bucks.

Aris hosted Olympiacos for Greek Basket League 21st day. Olympiacos was playing once more without the captain Vasilis Spanoulis and Giorgos Printezis. Olympiacos was counting 20 consecutive victories against Aris. Olympiacos was taking a short lead that Aris was covering in the first half. In the second quarter Aris made a 9-2 run and finished the first half leading the score by 4 points, 40-36. In the tight third quarter Olympiacos was approaching Aris to 1-2 points but the home team managed to reply and keep the difference between 2 and 4 points. Aris took a lead of 5 points in the fourth quarter but Olympiacos replied with a 5-0 run and equalized the score, 56-56 and 58-58. After many missed shots for both teams Bryant Dunston scored four consecutive points and gave his team the lead, 58-62, two minutes before the end. Alexander Vezenkov and Zisis Sarikopoulos didn't score and Lefteris Bochoridis scored only one free throw, 59-62. Bryant Dunston scored again and gave his team the victory in a difficult game. Aris was leading the score and controlling the game for more than 35 minutes but in the end Bryant Dunston scored six consecutive points that were crucial. For Aris Alexander Vezenkov had 15 points, 9 rebounds and Kostas Charisis had 6 points and 9 rebounds. For Olympiacos Vangelis Mantzaris had 7 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and Bryant Dunston 17 points and 6 rebounds.

Nea Kifisia hosted and defeated Kolossos Rodou for Greek Basket League 21st day. Kolossos won the first round game in Rodos island by three points, but now Kolossos is fighting to avoid relegation while Nea Kifisia is in play offs position. First quarter was balanced but in the second quarter Nea Kifisia created a difference of 9 points. Nea Kifisia had 5/12 three pointers in the first half, while Kolossos Rodou had 2/8. Kolossos Rodou started better in the second half and with a 2-7 run managed to lower the difference but at the end of the third quarter the difference was back to 9 points, 63-54. Again in the last quarter the visitors tried to win the game but Nea Kifisia found solutions and won the game plus covered the difference of the first round game. Top scorers for Nea Kifisia Giannis Psathas and Ogo Adegboye with 14 points each. Giannis Psathas also had 8 rebounds and 5 steals. The veteran Michalis Kakiouzis helped with 11 points and 7 rebounds and Saša Vasiljević didn't score but served 9 assists. Aries Trikala hosted and defeated Rethymno Aegean for Greek Basket League 21st day. Rethymno Aegean had won the first round game by only two points. Aries Trikala had 9/10 field goals in the first quarter while Rethymno Aegean had 1/7 so the home team was leading the score with 26-14. First half finished with Aries Trikala leading by 12 points and Rethmyno Aegean having poor accuracy in shots, 6/19 field goals and 4/12 three pointers. Rethymno improved in three pointers in the second half but was still poor in field goals. KAOD hosted and beat PAOK for Greek Basket League 21st day. KAOD had won all three home games against PAOK in the previous three seasons and PAOK had won all four games in Thessaloniki, making it a couple where the home teams always win. KAOD was leading the score in the first half since PAOK had 1/10 three pointers and home team only 2 turnovers. PAOK improved in the second half, lowered the difference in the third quarter and balanced the game in the end so the game went to extra time. In the extra time PAOK started with a 4-0 run but KAOD replied with a 9-0 run and lead the score till the end. PAOK was really bad at three pointers with only 3/20 while KAOD had 11/26. Panelefsiniakos hosted Apollon Patras for Greek Basket League 21st day. Apollon Patras have won all three games between the two teams, but with very short difference, 3 points, 2 points and by only one point in the first round game. Each team had one quarter in the first half, with the home team winning the first and Apollon Patras balancing the game in the second. Like in the first half, Panelefsiniakos won the third quarter and Apollon Patras balanced the game in the fourth quarter so the game had one extra time. Panionios hosted and defeated Ikaros Chalkidas for Greek Basket League 21st day. Panionios won the first game between the two teams and also have won both games in the previous season. Panionios dominated the first quarter when took a lead of 16 points and the first half the difference was at twenty points. Ikaros Chalkidas with 1/11 three pointers and 8 turnovers in first half couldn't ask for more. The difference was getting bigger each quarter and the final difference was 35 points for Panionios. Barcelona hosted and beat Olympiacos for Euroleague Top 16. Olympiacos that was playing without Vasilis Spanoulis and Giorgos Printezis had little chances against Barcelona in Spain. Ante Tomic finished the game with a double double, 14 points and 11 rebounds. Kostas Papanikolaou scored only 3 points against his previous team. Bareclona had 10/26 three pointers against 5/19 that Olympiacos had. Stratos Perperoglou finished the game without score, having 0/4 field goals and 0/4 three pointers. Only Bryant Dunston and Brent Petway finished the game with two digits score for Olympiacos. Bad game for Euroleague back to back winners that will struggle to make it in the next round.

Panathinaikos defeated Anadolu Efes in Istanbul for Euroleague Top 16. With Fragiskos Alvertis debuting as coach Panathinaikos managed to win a very tight game where the score was 60-65 after one extra time. In a game where both teams had Greek coaches the defense was the key. Anadolu Efes seemed to control the game and win in the end but Jonas Mačiulis scored a very crucial three pointer 14 seconds before the end and equalized the score leading the game to extra time. Zoran Planinic with 15 points and Antonis Fotsis with 14 points were the top scorers of their teams. Stephane Lasme made a double double with 11 points and 12 rebounds.

Ilisiakos released Eric Devendorf

Ilisiakos and Eric Devendorf part ways after only one month. Eric Devendorf played only two games with Ilisiakos in the Greek Basket League, scored 8,5 points in average and collected only one rebound. Devendorf has already agreed terms with Super City Rangers of the New Zealand NBL.

Kolossos Rodou signed Kostas Kakaroudis

Kolossos Rodou signed Kostas Kakaroudis. The 30 years old Greek center returns to Greek Basket League after less than a year in Romanian League with CS Energia Rovinari. Kakaroudis started his career in Aris where he won the FIBA EuroCup Challenge Champion. Then he moved to second division A2 for KAOD, Ionikos Lamias, Kavala, Rethymno, Olympiada Patron, Ikaroi Serron, with one year contract in each team. Finally Kakaroudis returned to KAOD while the team was playing in the Greek Basket League.

Kolossos Rodou announced coach Michalis Koutalianos

Kolossos Rodou announced that, since Dimitris Priftis left the club for Panathinaikos, the new coach of the team is Michalis Koutalianos with his assistant Stathis Neratzakis. Koutalianos was the assistant coach and now will be the head coach of Kolossos. That is the third coach change of Kolossos Rodou in this season.

Panathinaikos announced its new technical team. The head coach will be Panathinaikos' legend Fragiskos Alvertis. Assistant coaches will be Sotiris Manolopoulos, who stays in his position, and Dimitris Priftis. Dimitris Priftis was the coach of Kolossos Rodou since November when he replaced Vasilis Fragias. This is the second Greek coach for Panathinaikos, after Želimir Obradović left the club.

Panelefsiniakos signed Rokas Ūzas. Panelefsiniakos signed the 26 years old Lithuanian forward for the remaining six games of the season. Ūzas was playing in Switzerland for Starwings Basilea and had 15.4 points, 6.4 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game in average. Ūzas has also played for KB Bashkimi in Kosovo and LSU-Atletas, Nevėžis Kėdainiai, Sakalai Vilnius in Lithuania.

21st Greek All Star Game Young Players Results. Rising Stars team won Young Stars team although Giorgos Diamantakos making a double double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. In the three pointers contest there was a big surprise since Panagiotis Zanidakis, a student from local High School of Nea Kydonia, won the constest with 14 successful three pointers in the final against Lefteris Bochoridis and Vasilis Toliopoulos.
Vasilis Charalampopoulos of Panathinaikos won the dunk contest against Kostas Mitoglou of Aris in the final.

Panathinaikos fired coach Argyris Pedoulakis

"Panathinaikos BC announced the end of the colaboration with the coach of the team, Argyris Pedoulakis. The president of Panathinaikos BC, Dimitris Giannakopoulos, wishes to thank mr Pedoulakis, for taking over the team in a tough period and managed to lead it to three titles. He will always be a distinguished member of Panathinaikos' family. The team will practice on Monday under Fragkiskos Alvertis' guidance."

Argyris Pedoulakis signed a two years contract with Panathinaikos in June 2012 and won the Greek Cup of 2013, 2014 and the Greek Basket League of 2013 with a sweep 3-0 against Olympiacos. In his first season with Panathinaikos Pedoulakis was nominated Greek League Coach of the Year for the third time in his career.

Panelefsiniakos signed David Kyles

Panelefsiniakos signed David Kyles. The 23 years old American guard was playing in Czech Republic for Svitavy and had 6.8 points, 5 rebounds and 2.3 assists in average per game. In the past Kyles was playing in Slovakia for Inter Bratislava, Czech Republic for Astrum Levice and Slovakia for BK Levicki Patrioti. Kyles is Wichita State University graduate. Kyles will debut against Apollon Patras.

Ikaros Chalkidas signed Giannis Demertzis

Ikaros Chalkidas signed Giannis Demertzis. The 31 years old Greek play maker will try to help Ikaros in the last six games of the Greek Basket League. Demertzis started his professional career with Mantoulidis and then played for PAOK, Iraklis, Maroussi and Kavala in Greece. This season Demertzis was playing in Cyrpus for Keravnos.

Olympiacos lost by Armani Milano for Euroleague Top 16

Olympiacos hosted and lost byArmani Milano for Euroleague Top 16. Olympiacos without Vasilis Spanoulis but with Giorgi Shermandini available was better in the first quarter but before the half time Armani Milano managed to take the lead in score. Keith Langford had 13 points and Stratos Perperoglou 15 points in the first half. From that point on the game was tight with Armani Milano having a small lead of 2-3 points and Olympiacos trying to counter attack. In the last minutes Olympiacos with Stratos Perperoglou took the lead by 81-80 but then Bryant Dunston lost two free throws and Keith Langford scored a three pointer making the score 81-85. Olympiacos lost a game without the captain Vasilis Spanoulis and will fight to promote in the next round, since the second place is probably lost for the Euroleague winners. 22 points for Stratos Perperoglou, 20 points for Keith Langford and 16 points with 9 rebounds for Giorgos Printezis.

Rethymno Aegean hosted and defeated Panelefsiniakos for Greek Basket League 20th day. Rethymno Aegean won for third consecutive home game and has avoided relegation, heading only up now. Callistus Eziukwu with 15 points and 9 rebounds, Luka Drča with 13 points and Derek Wright with 13 points and 10 rebounds were the best players for Rethymno Aegean. Ilisiakos lost by Panionios for Greek Basket League 20th day. Panionios had lost 3 consecutive games and wanted this victory but Ilisiakos wanted it more since the team stands alone in the bottom of the league table. Panionios took an early lead in the first quarter but Ilisiakos with 33-17 partial score in the second quarter turned the game upside down. Third quarter was more balanced and in the end Panionios with Errick McCollum and Landon Milbourne won a tight game. For Panionios Errick McCollum had 27 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Nea Kifisia won first and third quarter but Ikaros Chalkidas with partial score 31-20 in the last quarter won a crucial game. Giannis Gagaloudis was impressive with 28 points, 8 assists and 2 steals. Ivan Aska was close to another double double but collected 9 rebounds and scored 16 points. Ryan Richards had 11 points with 3/5 three pointers. Kolossos Rodou lost by KAOD for Greek Basket League 20th day. KAOD was better and Kolossos Rodou only managed to balance the game in the end of the third quarter. Kolossos Rodou took the lead with 66-64 in the fourth quarter but the home team wasn't focused and lost three consecutive offenses and the game. J'Covan Brown with 27 points and Edin Bavčić with 25 points were the leaders of KAOD. Nontas Papantoniou with 13 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists was the top player of the home team with Taylor Smith adding 13 more points. Tenth victory for KAOD who reached sixth place in the league table.

DJ Cooper and Nikos Liakopoulos shared the title of the MVP of the 19th day. Both players were rated with 28 points in the ranking system. DJ Cooper had 6 points, 8 rebounds, 9 assists and 3 steals against Panelefsiniakos. Nikos Liakopoulos had 17 points (6/6 free throws, 4/4 field goals, 1/2 three pointers), 5 rebounds and 8 assists against Ilisiakos.

PAOK hosted and beat Aries Trikala for Greek Basket League 20th day. PAOK had a great first quarter when the score was 21-8 in 8th minute and preserved the difference till the end of the game. Although PAOK was very poor in three pointers, only 2/18, with 15 rebounds more and 36/40 free throws managed to win the game. Impressive number of fouls drawn and free throws shot for PAOK. Giorgos Bogris made a double double after weeks with 17 points and 14 rebounds. DJ Cooper had 5 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Kostas Charalampidis was the top scorer of PAOK with 19 points, 12/12 free throws. Chris Evans has 16 points and 5 steals for Aries Trikala. Panathinaikos hosted defeated Aris for Greek Basket League 20th day. This was the 17th consecutive victory of Panathinaikos against Aris for the Greek Basket League. Aris was competitive only for one quarter when the team from Thessaloniki was leading the score by 10-14. Aris was poor in three pointers with 2/14 and collected 11 rebounds less than Panathinaikos. Zack Wright was the top scorer of Panathinaikos with 15 points. All twelve players available were used in the game by coach Argyris Pedoulakis, including the young Greek players Vasilis Charalampopoulos and Giorgos Diamantakos. For Aris Alexander Vezenkov was the top player with 13 points and 6 rebounds.

Olympiacos released Jamario Moon. The 34 years old American left Olympiacos after less than two months. His place in the Greek Basket League will be filled by Brent Petway.
