Panathinaikos beat Fenerbahçe Ülker for Euroleague third day

Panathinaikos hosted and beat Fenerbahçe Ülker for Euroleague third day. Panathinaikos players probably felt good with  Želimir Obradović in the court even as the opponent coach and had a great day. With 31 points in the first quarter and 59 in the half time Panathinaikos was unstopable. Panathinaikos finished first half with 2 team turnovers, 10/12 three pointers and 16 assists. AJ Slaughter had 17 points with 5/7 three pointers, Esteban Batista had 14 points with 6/7 field goals and Dimitris Diamantidis with his 6 assists reached 1005 total assists in Euroleague. In the second half it was natural that Panathinaikos would not continue in such high level but still broadened the difference in the third quarter. Only in the last quarter Fenerbahce with partial score 9-16 lowered the difference to 18 points. Panathinaikos had 18/26 three pointers, 25 assists and 16 turnovers (14 in the second half). Fenerbahce Ulker with 4/21 three pointers could not compete but with only 7 turnovers didn't let the score reach record levels. AJ Slaughter had 23 points with 7/10 three pointers, Antonis Fotsis had 4/4 three pointers, Janis Blums had 3/3 three pointers and Dimitris Diamantidis had 10 assists. Dimitris Diamantis needed one assist to break the 1.000 assists milestone and is now counting 1.009 assists in Euroleague.

Panelefsiniakos and coach Skarafigas part ways

Panelefsiniakos and coach Giorgos Skarafigas part ways. The Greek coach announced his resignation to the team board which accepted it and agreed on mutual termination of his contract. Skarafigas, who had served Panelefsiniakos for years and promoted the team to the Basket League, took the blame for the bad beginning of the team in Basket League 2014-2015 that counts three defeats in three games. All technical stuff resigned except Lefteris Tsaousidis who the board chose to coach the team in the fortcoming game against Kolossos Rodou.

Vangelis Alexandris is Panionios' new coach

Panionios counts three defeats in three games and after the release of Thanasis Papachatzis the team was searching for an experienced coach. Vangelis Alexandris had coached Larisa, PAOK, Apollon Patras, Irakleio, Marousi, Olympia Larisas, AEK, Kolossos Rodou, Kavala and the National Team of Jordan.

AEK and Vernon Goodridge part ways

AEK and Vernon Goodridge part ways after only three games in the Basket League Greece 2014-2015. Goodridge averaged 2.67 points and 2 rebounds in 10 minutes per game.

Aris - PAOK 0-20 (interrupted) for Basket League second day

Aris hosted PAOK for Basket League second day. In the previous season PAOK beat Aris in Alexandreion but needed an extra time to do it and since then both teams changed a lot. The game started 25 minutes after it was scheduled since one referee was hit by an object thrown by fans. First quarter was tight, PAOK was constantly leading the score by 1-2 points. In the second quarter Aris took the lead with a three pointer by Gikas, 20-18. PAOK with a 7-0 run took back the lead, 20-25, and Aris with replied with an 8-0 run, 28-20. The game was interrupted again as another object hit a referee 42 seconds before half time and the referees left the court. The referees asked the fans to evacuate the court in order for the game to continue, the fans didn't evacuate within an hour and the referees left the court. The game was won by PAOK 20-0 after Hellenic Basketball Clubs Association's decision.

AEK signed Carl Jerome English. The 33 years old Canadian guard has played in NBA D-League with Florida Flame, in Italy for Virtus Bologna, in Croatia for KK Zadar and in Spain for several teams. English is a member of the national team of Canada.

Lokomotiv Kuban beat PAOK for Eurocup third round

Lokomotiv Kuban beat PAOK for Eurocup third round. This was the first defeat of PAOK for Eurocup 2014-2015 which left Kuban alone in the first place of the group F. PAOK started with a 8-2 run but that was all. Kuban managed to take the lead and build a secure difference since all its players scored. Maxim Grigoryev and Krunoslav Simon had 15 points each, Derrick Brown had 14 points, Richard Hendrix had 9 rebounds and 6 points. For PAOK only Julian Vaughn with 12 points, Kostas Kakaroudis with 11 points and Christos Saloustros with 8 points and 5 rebounds were a threat for the home team.

Panionios signed Gabe Pruitt. The 28 years old American guard played five games with Rethymno Aegean in the Basket League Greece 2013-2014 and he was named MVP of the first day. Pruitt will help Panionios to avoid relegation with his experience.

PAOK beat KAOD in Drama for Basket League third day. KAOD is usually troubling PAOK in Drama but this time the team of Soulis Markopoulos managed to win a tough game in the end. Carter who had 18 points made a crucial block in the end on Diamantis Slaftsakis and secured the victory. For KAOD Thodoris Zaras had 18 points and Rod Odom had 8 points and 8 rebounds. For PAOK, besides Carter, Kostas Charalampidis had 16 points, Apollon Tsochlas had 14 points and Christos Saloustros had 7 rebounds.

For Panelefsiniakos only Frank Robinson with 18 points and 6 rebounds and Nikola Markovic with 13 points were a threat for Nea Kifisia's defense. The difference between two teams skyrocketed the difference to 38 points in the end. For Panionios only Yaroslav Korolev had two digits score with 10 points. Olympiacos hosted and beat Laboral Kutxa for Euroleague 2014-2015 second day. Olympiacos doubled its victories for Euroleague with Milan Tomic as coach. Laboral Kutxa was poor at field goals with 10/35 but troubled Olympiacos for 40 minutes. For Olympiacos Matt Lojeski had 15 points, Bryant Dunston had 10 points and 6 rebounds, Vasilis Spanoulis and Othello Hunter had 9 points each. For Laboral Kutxa Fernando San Emeterio had 14 points, Tornike Shengelia had 11 points and Colton Iverson had 8 points and 7 rebounds. Panathinaikos lost by Bayern Munich for Euroleague

Bayern Munich hosted and beat Panathinaikos for Euroleague. Panathinaikos started with a 6-0 in Bayern but the home team replied with a 9-0 and took the lead. In the second quarter Bayern created a difference of five pointe, 32-27, but Panathinaikos with an 8-0 run managed to finish the half time leading the score, 32-35. Esteban Batista had 12 points in the first half and Dusko Savanovic had 11 points. In the third quarter Panathinaikos improved in three pointers and created a difference of six points, 49-55, but the home team replied once more with an 8-1 run and made the score 57-56. Vlantimir Giankovits took back the lead for his team with 57-59 at the end of the third quarter. In the last quarter Panathinaikos was missing three pointers and Bayern built a difference, 68-61. AJ Slaughter with two assists and one shot helped his team to make a 5-0 run and approach to two points before Nihad Djedovic and Dusko Savanovic with a three pointer each made the score 76-68. Panathinaikos was trying to score with three pointers and was wasting its chances to win the game. With 8/32 three pointers Panathinaikos wasted a lot of shots and chances to win. For Bayern Munich Dusko Savanovic had 20 points, 6 rebounds and Nihad Djedovic had 14 points, 6 rebounds. For Panathinaikos Esteban Batista had 18 points, 7 rebounds and Vlantimir Giankovits had 17 points. Dimitris Diamantidis had 7 assists and reached 999 assists in Euroleague but didn't score since he had 0/6 three pointers and 0/2 field goals. Antonis Fotsis had 15 points with 4/5 three pointers, 1/1 field goals and 1/1 free throws.

PAOK hosted and beat Stelmet Zielona Góra for Eurocup second day. PAOK doubled its victories for Group F of the Eurocup 2014-2015. PAOK didn't face problems against Zielona Gora since the Greek team had 13/27 three pointers and 22 assists. For the home team Christos Saloustros had 17 points and 8 rebounds, Julian Vaughn and Kevin Langford had 12 points each. For Zielona Gora Steven Burtt and Daniel Johnson had 11 points each and Lukasz Koszarek had 14 points and 8 assists.

Panionios and Thanasis Papachatzis part ways

Panionios and Thanasis Papachatzis part ways. After only two games Panionios announced the release of the coach Papachatzis. The team and the Greek coach could not agree on the plan of the team.

More than a team.
......Today as a form of complain for the unfair release of the coach of Drapetsona Youth team Mr. Petalas, the team went on court against Eleftheria Moschatou but didn't play.
Coach Petalas, who has years of experience as coach in many teams in Greece, was forced to resign so the players of the team reacted like this. The players say that you cannot sack a coach that was trying to make you not only a better player but a better person in general and with this action they proved that he made them better people.

Kolossos Rodou hosted Panathinaikos for Basket League second day. In the first quarter Panathinaikos made an 8-0 run from 10-8 to 10-16 but Kolossos with its own run managed to finish first quarter with equal score, 17-17. Zvonko Buljan scored 10 points out of his team's 17 points, with 3/3 three pointers, in the first quarter. Panathinaikos started second quarter with a 5-0 run. Panathinaikos created an 18 points difference in the second quarter which kept until the end. Kolossos Rodou had 3/20 field goald in the first half and Zvonko Buljan didn't score any more points after the first quarter. For Kolossos Rodou Mike James had 21 points and Taylor Smith had 9 points and 9 rebounds. For Panathinaikos Esteban Batista had 12 points and 9 rebounds while Vlantimir Giankovits had 12 points and 6 assists. Antonis Fotsis and Janis Blums scored 9 points each with 3 three pointers each.

Nea Kifisia beat Olympiacos for Basket League second day

Nea Kifisia hosted and defeated Olympiacos for Basket League second day. Nea Kifisia was not an easy team to beat since Olympiacos was following the score for more than half the game and although three minuted before the end managed to took the lead by 58-61, AENK made a 7-0 run and made the score 65-61 with one minute left. In the last crucial minute Nea Kifisia's players were focused and didn't lose the lead, winning Olympiacos by one point, 68-67. For the winners Dimitris Mavroeidis had 14 points and 9 rebounds, Michalis Kakiouzis had 11 points and 5 rebounds, Panagiotis Kafkis served 5 assists and Remekun who came to Kifisia this week had 6 points and 7 rebounds. For Olympiacos Vasilis Spanoulis had 13 points and 6 assists but also 1/5 three pointers. Brent Petway had 6 points and 9 rebounds and Othello Hunter had 11 points and 8 rebounds.

AEK beat Panionios for Basket League second day

AEK hosted and defeated Panionios for Basket League second day. Both teams faced financial and management problems this summer but AEK solved them earlier than Panionios who is still forming its roster. This was the first Basket League home game for AEK after the team was relegated to A2 division and the fans were waiting for it. AEK dominated the first quarter and finished it with double score plus one point, 27-13, and continued like this in the second quarter. In the first half AEK had 7/11 three pointers with David Kyles having 11 points while for Panionios only Yaroslav Korolev had 10 points. Panionios started second half with a 7-0 run and lowered the difference up to 8 points, 50-42, AEK expanded it back to two digits but with four free throws in the end Panionios finished the third quarter only seven points behing the home team. In the last quarter AEK made a 7-0 run and restored the difference to two digits score up to the end. AEK made its first victory for the Basket League 2014-2015 and Panionios doubled its defeats. For AEK Dusan Sakota scored 18 points, David Kyles and Leonidas Kaselakis scored 11 points each while Zisis Sarikopoulos collected 10 rebounds and scored 8 points. For Panionios Vasilis Xanthopoulos scored 16 points, Yaroslav Korolev scored 15 points and collected 9 rebounds, Tony Woods scored 14 points and collected 9 rebounds.

Aries Tirkala beat Korivos Amaliadas for Basket League second day

Aries Tirkala hosted and defeated Korivos Amaliadas for Basket League second day. Trikala started the season with a defeat and Korivos with a victory but Trikala was playing its first home game against the newly promoted team of Korivos. Aries Trikala started better the game and was leading by 16-7 but Korivos made a 10-0 run and first quarter finished with the home team one point ahead. Second quarter was also tough with Robert Lowery being charged with a technical foul for complaining while his team was leading the score. The home team finished first half with 2/10 thre pointers. In the third quarter both teams improved and in the most productive quarter Aries Trikala took the lead. Korivos Amaliadas was better in the last quarter and balanced the game. In the last minute Angelopoulos with a three pointer and Robert Lowery with a goal-foul made the score from 67-61 to 67-67! Mario Matalon missed the next shot for Trikala and Josh Magette for Korivos so the game went to overtime. In the extra time Trikala was leading the score before Korivos started scoring three pointers. Magette, Kanonidis, Giannakidis scored three consecutive three pointers in the last minute and the score from 77-73 became 79-82! Matalon with four points in a row made the score 83-83 with six seconds left. In the last attack of Korivos the players of Trikala didn't make a foul on Magette with coach Flevarakis screaming but Mario Matalon stole the ball and equalized the score. Rob Lowery missed the last shot and the game went to second extra time. First extra time five minutes were most productive for both teams than the fourth quarter! In the second extra time Kadji, Matalon and Ingram helped their team to win a tight game after two extra times and 50 minutes. Kenny Kadji made a double double with 26 points and 13 rebounds. For Aries Trikala Justin Ingram had 17 points, Cupkovic had 15 points and 9 rebounds, Mario Matalon had 13 points and Nate Bowie had 12 points. For Korivos Amaliadas Rob Lowery had 23 points and 7 rebounds, Michalis Giannakidis had 17 points, Nikos Angelopoulos had 14 points, Darrius Garrett had 11 points and Josh Magette served 8 assists.

Apollon Patras beat Panelefsiniakos for Basket League second day

Apollon Patras hosted and defeated Panelefsiniakos for Basket League second day. Apollon Patras made a 9-0 run in the first quarter and took the lead of the game. Brandon Penn finished the first quarter with 10 points! In the second quarter Apolon Patras created an 11 points difference, 33-22, but Panelefsiniakos made its own 6-0 run and one minute before half time the home team was charged with a technical foul. But Apollon Patras finished the first half with a 5-0 run so the half time score was 53-43. In the half time Brandon Penn had 18 points, Kevin Galloway had 12 points and Toarly Fitzpatrick had 10 points! In the second half Tskaleris was charged with a technical foul but his team made a 9-1 run and approached Apollon to 2 points, 54-52. Panelfsiniakos with Robinson was pressing Apollon, 68-67, but Batis with a three pointer made the score of the third quarter 71-67. Panelefsiniakos could not follow Apollon till the end and lost by 9 points, 91-82. For Apollon Patras Penn had 29 points and 6 rebounds, Toarly Fitzpatrick had 17 points and 9 rebounds, Gaios Skordilis had 17 points and Kevin Galloway 15 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Rethymno Aegean hosted and defeated KAOD for Basket League second day. First quarter was bad for both team with many missed shots (4/16 field goald for each team) and low score, 9-11. The second quarter was slightly beter but still tight and in the end Rethymno Aegean with Faye and Schaftenaar created a difference of 6 points, 35-29. Allen and Schaftenaar for Rethymno finished the first half with 9 points each. The home team improved at third quarter and with Simpson and Schaftenaar expanded the difference to 9 points, 50-41. KAOD was pressing Rethymno but the home team dominated rebounds and won the game. Mouhammad Faye finished the game with a double double, 19 points and 11 rebounds. Roeland Schaftenaar had 11 points, 6 rebounds and Trevis Simpson had 13 points. For KAOD Eric Atkins had 16 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds. Panathinaikos hosted and beat Turow Zgorzelec for Euroleague 2014-2015 first day. Panathinaikos is an experienced Euroleague team but this season started with fresh players. With Dimitris Diamantidis playing only for 15 minutes and scoring two points Panathinaikos would have faced problems in the previous years but now A.J. Slaughter and Nikos Pappas scored 16 points each and Esteban Batista, Jānis Blūms and Vlantimir Giankovits scored more than 10 points each. Julian Wright who debuted with Panathinaikos scored 4 points. For Turow Zgorzelec Mardy Collins, who had played many games against Panathinaikos in the previous season with Olympiacos, scored 23 points and Damian Kulig scored 17 points. Panathinaikos starts Euroleague 2014-2015 with a home victory.

Panionios signed Vasilis Xanthopoulos

Panionios signed Vasilis Xanthopoulos. The 30 years old player returns to Panionios for third time after 2011-2012 and 2007-2009 seasons. Xanthopoulos started his career in Olympiacos and had played for Near East, Panathinaikos, PAOK and Panellinios in Greece and for Obradoiro in the Spanish League.

Panionios signed Brian Fitzpatrick. Fitzpatrick came to Greece for Rethymno Aegean and was released by the team few weeks ago but will continue his career in Basket League Greece with Panionios.

Yaroslav Igorevich Korolev is 2.08m high and plays as forward. He was picked in No 12 of 2005 NBA Draft by Los Angeles Clippers and has played for Avtodor Saratov, CSKA Moscow, Los Angeles Clippers, Dynamo Moscow, Albuquerque Thunderbirds, Reno Bighorns, Granada, Lagun Aro and Spartak Saint Petersburg.

Nea Kifisia signed Cory Remekun

Nea Kifisia signed Cory Remekun. The 23 years old American forward came to Greece for Panionios but due to transfers ban of the team he was training with Nea Kifisia. Nea Kifisia's coach Elias Papatheodorou liked the player and signed him to replace Justin Jackson who was released by the team. Remekun graduated from Saint Louis and in the previous season he played in Germany for Dragons Rhöndorf. The player will debut against Olympiacos in the forthcoming game.

Valencia hosted Olympiacos for Euroleague 2014-2015 first day. The game was balanced and Olympiacos managed to win as its players were more focused in the end. For Olympiacos the captain Spanoulis had 12 points with 3/5 three pointers in the first half and finished the game with 21 points and 5 assists. Brent Petway didn't score but had 8 rebounds and 3 assists. For Valencia Luke Harangody had 14 points while Dwight Buycks and Romain Sato had 11 points each. Great tactical play by Milan Tomic who used four short players in the last minutes and stole the victory.

Panathinaikos signed Julian Wright

Panathinaikos signed Julian Wright (Julian Emil-Jamaal Wright). The 27 years old American forward graduated from Kansas where he played for Kansas Jayhawks and was selected as the number 13 of the first round 2007 NBA Draft by the New Orleans Hornets. He played three years for the Hornets and in his rookie season he averaged 3.9 points a game and 2.1 rebounds a game. In 2010 he was traded to the Toronto Raptors and a year later he signed with the NBA Development League for Austin Toros. In 2012 he moved to Israel for Maccabi Rishon LeZion and a year later to Russia for BC Krasnye Krylia. Wright was approached by Panathinaikos a month ago but he was cut in medical exams and the player went to a physio on his own costs in order to meet the standards of the team. He is registered for the Euroleague.

PAOK beat Pınar Karşıyaka for Eurocup

Pınar Karşıyaka hosted and lost by PAOK for Eurocup 2014-2015 day one. Jake Odum was the key player of the first quarter with one unsportsmanlike foul and five consecutive points. In the second quarter PAOK scored only 7 points and Karşıyaka took the lead in score. The home team managed to keep the difference in the third quarter and in the fourth PAOK started to attack only with three pointers which let Karşıyaka expand the difference to nine points, 60-51. PAOK counter attacked in the end and tried to steal the game. Kostas Charalampidis with two free throws and Julian Vaughn with a steal and lay up made the score 65-64 with only 15 seconds remaining. Bobby Dixon missed two free throws but took the rebound and Jake Odum made his fifth foul. Dixon scored only one out of two free throws, Marc Carter took the rebound and with two free throws equalized the score, 66-66. Pınar Karşıyaka got a time out with 2.9 second remaining. Dixon could not score and the game went to extra time. Juan Palacios and Bobby Dixon had 21 points each at the normal time. For PAOK Jake Odum had 22 points but could not play in the extra time due to five commited fouls. In the extra time Kevin Langford missed two free throws and Kostas Charalampidis a three pointer which gave the home team the lead in score. One minute before the end of extra time PAOK with Marc Carter took the lead in score with 71-73. Hersek Baris equalized the score, 73-73 with 18 seconds left for PAOK. Langford didn't score and the game went to second extra time! In the second extra time Julian Vaughn, Kostas Charalampidis and Keving Langford led PAOK to a great and tough victory.

Olympiacos fined all players and stuff for the defeat in the cup. All players and the stuff of Olympiacos will have a 50% salary cut for a month as a result of the defeat by Panathinaikos in a game that the opponent was playing without many players and the team was leading the score one minute before the end.

Aris signed Ogo Adegboye. Adegboye played for Nea Kifisia in the previous season and averaged 4 points and 0.9 assists per game. The British guard will replace Torey Thomas who is injured, so his contract is for one month.

Panathinaikos hosted and beat Nea Kifisia for Basket League first day. Panathinaikos had only 8 players available due to injuries but faced no problems against Nea Kifisia. Esteban Batista made his first double double for the Basket League with 14 points and 10 rebounds, AJ Slaughter scored 18 points and Vlantimis Giankovits had 10 points and 9 rebounds. Panionios signed Tony Woods. Woods will continue in Greece for second year after one year he played for Nea Kifisia. With Nea Kifisia he averaged 6.5 points and 4.2 rebounds per game in 26 games.

Panionios signed Strnad Nejc

Panionios signed Strnad Nejc. The Slovenian guard played two years for Ikaros Chalkidas (previously Ikaros Kallitheas) and previously he had played for Kavala. In the season 2013-2014 he averaged 6.1 points and 2.1 rebounds per game.

Giorgos Bartzokas resigned from Olympiacos

Giorgos Bartzokas resigned from Olympiacos. The Greek coach decided to resign after the defeat by Panathinaikos for the Greek Cup which led to complains by the team fans. Milan Tomic will be the head coach while Olympiacos will be searching for its next coach with Sasa Djordjevic, Fotis Katsikaris and Giannis Sferopoulos names to be on the team's list. The team officially thanked the Greek coach for the two Euroleague wins and accepted his resign.


Rethymno Aegean signed Roeland Schaftenaar

Rethymno Aegean signed Roeland Schaftenaar. The 26 years old Dutch will replace Brian Fitzpatrick. Schaftenaar is 2.11m high and graduated from Oregon State. After graduation the Dutch center played four years in the second division of Spain, two years for UB La Palma and two years for CB Breogán. Schaftenaar is member of the National basketball team of Netherlands.

AEK signed Milan Milošević. The 29 years old Bosnian forward started his career from Hercegovac, then played for Sloboda Tuzla, Red Star Belgrade, Bosna, Keravnos in Cyprus, Budućnost Podgorica and Zlatorog Laško. With Zlatorog Laško he averaged 14.1 points and 8.6 rebounds in the previous season. Earlier this season the player had agreed terms with Panionios.

Nea Kifisia released Justin Jackson

Justin Jackson did not meet the standards of Nea Kifisia's coach Elias Papatheodorou so the team announced the release of the player just two months after he signed a contract.

Panathinaikos defeat Olympiacos for Greek Cup

Panathinaikos hosted and defeated Olympiacos for Greek Cup without fans attending the game. Panathinaikos started better and took the lead with 14-4 but Olympiacos balanced the game in the first quarter. In the second quarter the game was more balanced and the half time finished with score 33-32. Esteban Batista had 10 points and 6 rebounds in the first half. Olympiacos started the second half with a 13-0 run and took a lead of 12 points, 33-45. Antonis Fotsis scored after 4:50 without score for Panathinaikos and lowered the difference to 10 points, 35-45. The last quarter started with two three pointers for Panathinaikos and the difference down to five points, 55-60. Olympiacos replied with its own 6-0 run and the difference went back to ten points, 58-68. Panathinaikos with two free throws of Diamantidis approached to four points, 68-72, but Matt Lojeski with a three pointer and a turnover by Panathinaikos made the score 68-75 two minutes before the end. Panathinaikos tightened its defense and with a three pointer by Dimitris Diamantidis equalized the score 75-75 with 16 second remaining. Esteban Batista made a foul to Kostas Sloukas 8 seconds before the end but Sloukas scored only ony and made the score 75-76. In the last offense three players of Olympiacos played defense on Dimitris Diamantidis who passed the ball to Esteban Batista and dunked making the score 77-76 and giving his team a great victory!

Korivos Amaliadas signed Giorgos Papapetrou. The 23 years old Greek guard started his career in Panionios' academies and Ilisiakos youth team before moving to USA for Franklin Pierce University. This summer he participated in Olympiacos' preparation and he signed his first pro contract with the newly promoted Korivos Amaliadas.

Thanasis Papachatzis is Panionios' new coach

Panionios announced that the head coach of the team is Thanasis Papachatzis. Only few days before the League starts Papachatzis left Peristeri where he was the head coach and is now in charge of Panionios. The coach was the assistant coach of Giannis Sfairopoulos in the previous season, so he knows the team and the players. Before Panionios Papachatzis had worked for Maroussi academies, Dafni, Panathinaikos (as assistant of Božidar Maljković, Slobodan Subotic, Efthimis Kioumourtzoglou and Kostas Politis), AEK, Aris, and Lokomotiv Kuban (again as assistant of Božidar  Maljković). Papachatzis had studied in North Carolina and had worked with Dean Smith.

Apollon Patras beat Korivos Amaladas for Greek Cup

Apollon Patras hosted and beat Korivos Amaladas for Greek Cup second round third day. Apollon started the game with a 7-0 run but Korivos made its own 6-18 run and finish the first quarter leading the score. Early in the second quarter Apollon got back the lead and kept it until the end. Korivos tried to counter attack in the last quarter and lowered the difference to three points, 52-49, but the home team made a 5-0 run and secured the victory. Apollon Patras had 1/12 three pointers in the first half in a tight game which was the first home game for the team. Apollon Patras had Brandon Penn, Toarlyn Fitzpatrick, Gaios Skordilis and Muhammad El-Amin with two digits points scored while for Korivos Amaliadas Rob Lowery scored 23 points, Josh Magette 9 points and Darrius Garrett 8 points.

Aris beat AEK for Greek Cup

Aris beat AEK in Thessaloniki for Greek Basketball Cup. The home team was leading the game in the whole game. Dusan Sakota and Nontas Papantoniou of AEK did their best to win the game but in the end the home team scored all crucial free throws and secured the victory. For Aris Aleksandar Vezenkov had 22 points and 10 rebounds and LeMarcus Reed had 17 points, 6 steals and 4 steals. Besides Papantoniou and Sakota, Zisis Sarikopoulos made a double double with 12 points and 13 rebounds against his former team. Aris qualified to the next round where will play against Nea Kifisia in Athens.

Olympiacos beat Rethymno Aegean for Petros Oikonomakis friendly tournament. Olympiacos had a great day with 64% accuracy in three pointers.
