Nea Kifisia defeated Aries Trikala for Greek League 14th day

Nea Kifisia hosted and defeated Aries Trikala for Greek Basket League 14th day. Nea Kifisia started better than Aries Trikala the first half, with Tony Crocker and Darrius Garrett leading their team. Nea Kifisia made only 4 turnovers in the first half and had double accuracy than Aries Trikala in two pointers, 73% vs 32%, finishing the first half ahead by 18 points. Aries Trikala complained about referees, since Patrick Ewing Junior was charged with 3 fouls after only 4 minutes in the game. It was almost sure that Aries Trikala will improve in the second half. With Jeremy Granger, Patrick Ewing Junior and Chris Evans made a 9-0 run and lowered the difference from 18 points to only 2 points, 53-51. Nea Kifisia replied with Darrius Garret and two consecutive three pointers from Vasiljevic, broadening the difference to two digits again, 61-51. Nea Kifisia won by 23 points since it had higher shot accuracy, more rebounds and more assists. Tony Crocker was the top scorer with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Darrius Garrett had 9 points and 10 rebounds. Saša Vasiljević with 5/9 three pointers and 17 pointers helped his team with crucial shots. The veteran Michalis Kakiouzis with 5/5 two pointers and 2/2 free throws was a reliable player when needed. For Aries Trikala Chris Evans had 18 points and 8 rebounds, Jeremy Granger 15 points and 8 rebounds, Patrick Ewing Junior 16 points and Giannakidis 11 points and 5 rebounds.

KAOD defeated Aries Trikala for Greek League thirteenth day

KAOD hosted and defeated Aries Trikala for Greek Basket League thirteenth day. In the first quarter Julian Vaughn was incredible with 13 points, 5/5 two pointers, 3/3 free throws and 6 rebounds! On the opposite Chris Evans had 11 points and 2 rebounds. Second quarter was balanced, with partial score 16-16. KAOD finished the first half with only 1/6 three pointers and Aries Trikala with 3/11. Julian Vaughn in his best first half for this season had 20 points, 8 rebounds, 5 fouls drawn without any turnovers or fouls made. Chris Evans was following with 19 points, 4 rebounds and 5 fouls drawn. Almost two men show in the first half. Vaughn didn't score in the second half and Evans scored 7 more points. KAOD was ahead by short difference but was ahead in the whole game. A great victory for KAOD who is taking advantage of his home and winning some crucial games. Julian Vaughn finished the game with a double double, 20 points and 10 rebounds. Nikola Marković nearly missed a double double with 10 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals. Lazeric Jones didn't miss a two pointer and with 6/6 reached 15 points. In his debut with KAOD Dante Stiggers scored 2 points. For Aries Trikala Chris Evans was the top scorer with a double double, 26 points and 12 rebounds. Patrick Ewing Junior missed another double double with 9 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Jeremy Granger scored 21 points with 4 assists.

Aries Trikala defeated Aris for Greek League twelfth day

Aries Trikala hosted and defeated Aris for Greek League twelfth day. First quarter was great for the hosting team that scored 27 points and managed to keep the difference until the half time. In the 35th minute Sarikopoulos gave Aris the lead for the first time with one point, 40-41. Third quarter finished with equal score 50-50 but in the beginning of the fourth quarter Aries Trikala made a 10-3 run and regained a small difference. Aris lowered the difference with Sarikopoulos, Athinaiou and Vezenkov. In the last minute the scored was 66-60. Then Aris scored a three pointer with Pelekanos, two points with Sarikopoulos and another three pointer with Sarikopoulos, taking the lead by 66-68. Aries Trikala didn't score, Sarikopoulos missed two free shots but home team didn't score again and Athinaiou made the score 66-69. Jeremy Granger scored a three pointer in the last second and the game finished equal in normal time. Aris collected more rebounds than Aries Trikala in the normal time (28-42) but the hosting team had an almost perfect game with only 6 turnovers! In the extra time Jeremy Granger and Patrick Ewing Junior scored 6 points in a row before Athinaiou and Sarikopoulos counter attack with their 5 points in a row. Great game in the extra time too. The game ended with a dunk from Patrick Ewing Junior and Aries Trikala winning after a quality game. Patrick Ewing Junior scored 20 points and collected 8 rebounds. Jeremy Granger scored 21 points and collected 5 rebounds. For Aris, Sarikopoulos Zisis with 13 points and 9 rebounds, Athinaiou Giannis with 21 points and 7 assists and Pelekanos Michalis 18 points and 8 rebounds were the top players.

Olympiacos defeated Aries Trikala for Greek League tenth day

Olympiacos hosted and defeated Aries Trikala for Greek League tenth day. Olympiacos started the game with an 11-0 run and the first half finished with score 25-7. Aries Trikala didn't have any chance to win the game but to play as good as they can and enjoy basketball. The team from Trikala finished the first half with only 15 points scored. In the second half Aries Trikala managed to score 45 points and avoid a negative record or double score. With 1/19 three pointers and 13/48 two pointers you can not ask more against Euroleague champions. Giorgos Printezis finished the game with a double double, scoring 22 points and collecting 12 rebounds. Chris Evans also made a double double with 10 points and 12 rebounds. Patrick Ewing Junior scored 10 points and collected 6 rebounds. Jeremy Granger was the top scorer for Aries Trikala with 12 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals.

Aries Trikala defeated PAOK for Greek League seventh day

Aries Trikala hosted and defeated PAOK for Greek League seventh day. This was a great victory for Aries Trikala who have won the leading team of the Greek League table. Patrick Ewing Junior scored four points in the first minutes and Aries Trikala made a 6-0 run. First quarter finished with Aries Trikala ahead by 7, 18-11. PAOK didn't balance the game in the second quarter and the first half finished with the two teams having an eleven points difference. Third quarter is the most productive quarter for PAOK in this season but at this game it was destructive. PAOK finished the third quarter 21 points behind Aries Trikala. PAOK players were tired due to many travels for Eurocup and the two extra time in their previous game in Greece. The final score was a big surprise for the Greek League. Aries Trikala dominated the rebounds with 44 collected while making only 7 turnovers. Two players of Aries Trikala finished the game with a double double, Chris Evans with 11 points and 12 rebounds and Patrick Ewing Junior with 22 points and 12 rebounds. Patrick Ewing Junior was rated 33 in the ranking system, a score which can lead to the MVP of the day. Ewing had 22 points, 12 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals and zero turnovers!

Kolossos Rodou defeated Aries Trikala

Kolossos Rodou defeated Aries Trikala for Greek Basketball League sixth day. Nestoras Kommatos debuted for Kolossos Rodou after he was dismissed from Aries Trikala. Kolossos Rodou smashed Trikala in the first quarter, taking a lead of 18 points. Aries Trikala managed to balance the game in the second and third quarter, but the difference remained above 10 points. Four minutes before the end Aries Trikala managed to equalize the game, 67-67, with a goal-foul from Granger. In the next attack Chris Evans scored a three pointer and his team was ahead by 3 points for the first time, 67-70. Christoforos Stefanidis scored for Kolossos Rodou and his team won the game by four points, 76-72. Kolossos Rodou made its first victory in the league.

Panathinaikos defeated Aries Trikala for the third day of Greek Basketball League

Aries Trikala hosted Panathinaikos for the third day of the Greek Basketball League. Aries Trikala haven't any victory in the first two games and as coach Flevarakis said could only gain experiences from this match. Starting five for Aries Trikala were Granger, Mutakabbir, Perunicic, Kommatas and Deligiannis. Starting five for Panathinaikos were Pappas, Diamantidis, Mačiulis, Gist and Mavrokefalidis. Granger opened the score with a two pointer but Diamantidis scored a three pointer and Panathinaikos took the lead. Panathinaikos had 2/2 free throws, 2/2 two pointer and 2/2 three pointer in the first three minutes where the score were 3-13 and before Gist missing the first shot for Panathinaikos. James Gist had 4 steals in the first 5 minutes and Jeremy Granger 3 turnovers and 1 unsportsmanlike foul. Trikala scored 3 three pointers but Panathinaikos finished the first quarter ahead by 17, 12-29. Stephane Lasme was flawless in the first quarter. The second quarter started with a goal-foul from Georgakis and two three pointers from Matalon, so the difference dropped to 8, 21-29. Gist scored the first points for Panathinaikos 4 minutes after second quarter started. Two three pointers from Panathinaikos and the difference was back to 16, 21-37. Trikala improved in the second quarter and the half time finished with 11 points difference. Panathinaikos tightened its defense in the third quarter and the difference flew up to 39 points, 30-69. In the last two minutes Trikala scored 7 points in a row and the third quarter finished with 42-73. Trikala scored 3 three pointers in the final minute and the difference stopped at 20 points, final score 68-88. Argyris Pedoulakis gave time to Charalampopoulos, Shang Ping. Jeremy Granger and Nestoras Kommatos were the best players for Trikala, with Matalon adding 9 points from three pointers. For Panathinaikos all players available played, only Mavrokefalidis and Ping didn't score but four players finished the game with more than 10 points. Vlantimir Giankovits finished the game with double double, 17 points and 10 rebounds.

Nea Kifisia wins Aries Trikala for the first day of Greek Basketball League

Aries Trikala lost by Nea Kifisia for the first day of Greek Basketball League 2013-2014. The newly promoted Nea Kifisia win by 69-64 in Trikala. Great game for Liakopoulos who scored 19 points, collected 7 rebounds and gave 7 assists. For Trikala Chris Evans led the score with 15 points. Quarters' scores 22-21, 33-38, 47-46, 64-69.

Aries Trikala wins Aris BC in friendly game with 59-57.
Quarters' scores were 13-15, 26-35, 42-48, 59-57.
Aris was leading the score but Granger scored in the last minute and gave his team the victory.

PAOK defeated Aries Trikala in friendly game

PAOK BC defeated Aries Trikala in friendly game with 80-70. DJ Cooper and Mark Payne played for the first time with their new team and did a great job. Payne led the score for PAOK with 19 points and DJ Cooper scored 11 points. For Aries Trikala Evans scored 19 points, Will Reinke 13 points and Khalid Mutakabbir 10 points. Quarters' scores were 23-10, 44-32, 63-50, 80-70.
Greek journalists seem to have problems with the spelling of the new Aries Trikala player Khalid Mutakabbir since most news sites refer to him as Mutabakir.

Aries Trikala BC signed Jeremy Granger. Granger, 23 years old American guard, played in NCAA with Eastern Illinois college for four years and last season played in Turkey with Selcuk Univercity. With Selcuk Univercity he played 35 games with an average of 15.1 points per game and 44.3% 3-points accuracy
