Panathinaikos sign Ian Vougioukas

Panathinaikos sign Ian Vougioukas. The 32 years old Greek center penned an 1+1 years contract with the Greek champions. Vougioukas started his career with Aris Glyfadas, Kronos Agiou Dimitriou, and Ilisiakos. Vougioukas played in the NCAA with St. Lewis Billikens. In 2007 Vougioukas returned to Greece and played for Olympiacos, Rethymno, and Panellinios before moving to Panathinaikos in 2010. With Panathinaikos Vougioukas won one Euroleague, one Greek championship and one Greek Cup. In 2012 Vougioukas moved to Russia for Unics Kazan. Vougioukas has also played basketball in Turkey for Galatasaray, in Germany with Ulm, in Lithuania with Zalgiris Kaunas, and in Russia with Lokomotiv Kuban.

Aris sign Victor Sanikidze

Aris sign Victor Sanikidze. The 30 years old Georgian forward penned an one year contract with Aris. Sanikidze was selected with the 42nd pick of the 2004 NBA Draft by the Atlanta Hawks, but his draft rights were traded the same day to the San Antonio Spurs for a 2005 second-round pick and cash considerations. Sanikidze started his professional career in France with Dijon.  After three seasons with Dijon Sanikidze moved to Spain for Estudiantes. After missing a season due to an injury he moved to Finland for Tartu Rock and a year later he moved to Italy for Virtus Bologna, and later for Montepaschi Siena. In 2013 Sanikidze returned to Spain for CAI Zaragoza and a year later he moved to Russia for Unics Kazan. In the previous season Sanikidze played in Turkey for TED Ankara Kolejliler.

Unics Kazan beat PAOK for Petros Oikonomakis tournament

Unics Kazan beat PAOK for Petros Oikonomakis tournament. It was the second game of the tournament that went to extra time, making it a tough tournament. PAOK was leading the score in the first half but Unics balanced the game and with a three pointer from Kostas Kaimakoglou the game went to extra time.

Argyris Pedoulakis is Unics Kazan's new coach

Argyris Pedoulakis is Unics Kazan's new head coach. Pedoulakis will replace Andrea Trinchieri and will find three Greek players in the team, Nikos Zisis, Ian Vougioukas and Kostas Kaimakoglou. This is the first time Pedoulakis will work abroad and his first goal will be to get Unics to Euroleague through qualification games.
