Olympiacos agreed terms with Kostas Papanikolaou

Olympiacos agreed terms with Kostas Papanikolaou. The 25 years old Greek guard returns to Greece and Olympiacos. Papanikolaou started his career in Proteas Grevenon but played in Aris and Olympiacos. With Olympiacos he won Euroleague twice, he also won one Greek Championship and was named twice Greek Basket League Best Young Player. In the 2013-2014 season he moved to Spain for Barcelona and in the next year he moved to the NBA for Houston Rockets. This season Papanikolaou started with Denver Nuggets but could not find a guaranteed contract, so he returned to Europe.

Katsikaris calls for Eurobasket 2015

Fotis Katsikaris, the coach of the National Team of Greece, called the first selection of players that will form the team that will play in Eurobasket 2015.

Houston Rockets signed Kostas Papanikolaou

Houston Rockets signed Kostas Papanikolaou. The Greek player will move to NBA after the Greek and the Spanish League. Papanikolaou will become the second Greek player for Houston Rockets, after Vasilis Spanoulis, and the fifth Greek player of NBA season 2014-2015, after Koufos, Calathes and Giannis and Thanasis Antetokounmpo.

Panathinaikos lost by Barcelona for Euroleague TOP 16

Panathinaikos hosted and lost by Barcelona for Euroleague TOP 16 round 5. Panathinaikos scored the first two points but Barcelona replied with a 10-0 run before Argyris Pedoulakis asked for a time out. First quarter was tight but Barcelona with partial score 9-20 in the second quarter created a difference that kept until the end and won the game. Barcelona continued with victories in the TOP 16 and Panathinaikos must now try harder to qualify in a higher position.
Quarters' scores: 23-24, 32-44, 47-52, 56-63.

Olympiacos lost from Barcelona for Euroleague TOP 16

Olympiacos hosted Barcelona for Euroleague TOP16. It was the first game that Kostas Papanikolaou returned to Piraeus as an opponent. Olympiacos started better the game and created a 9 points difference in the first 9 minutes, 23-14. Barcelona finished the first quarter with a 4-0 run and continued to lower the difference in the second quarter. Half time finished with Euroleague winners leading the score by two points. Second half was better for Barcelona that changed the lead and created a difference of 7 points by the end of the third quarter. Olympiacos tried to counter attack and win the game in the last minutes, when it approached to two points, 64-66. Then Olympiacos made two turnovers, but also complains about the referees decisions. Barcelona not only won the game but broadened the difference to 11 points in the end. Vasilis Spanoulis and Giorgos Printezis scored 17 points each for Olympiacos. Kostas Papanikolaou scored only 2 points but Navarro scored 21 points and Brad Oleson 14 points for the winners. After this game Olympiacos counted 2 defeats and Barcelona 3 victories in 3 games for Euroleague TOP 16.
