Flevarakis is the new head coach of Kolossos


Kostas Flevarakis is the new head coach of Kolossos Rodou. The 49-year-old Greek coach returns to Greece after two seasons to replace Vetoulas at the bench of Kolossos. Flevarakis has managed PAOK, AEK, Panellinios, Makedonikos, Ilisiakos, Trikala, and Rethymno in Greece, Akropol in Sweden, Braunschweig in Germany, Keravnos Strovolou in Cyprus, Koszalin in Poland, and Astana in Kazhakstan.

Kymi signed Kelsey Barlow

Kymi signed Kelsey Barlow. The 27-year-old American guard graduated from Illinois-Chicago and went undrafted in the 2014 NBA Draft. Barlow started his career with Grand Rapids in the NBA D-League and then moved to French LNB Pro-B for Lille Metropole BC where he averaged 11.7 points and 2.2 assists per game. In 2016 Barlow joined Trikala where he averaged 14 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.2 assists in 26 games. In the last season, Barlow joined AEK where he played until March 2018 where he parted ways with the club. Kelsey is the son of Ken Barlow who played for PAOK in 1990-1993.

Ionikos Nikaias signed Angelo Tsagarakis

Ionikos Nikaias (A2 League) signed Angelo Tsagkarakis. The 34-year-old Greek-French graduated from Cal Poly Pomona and went undrafted in the 2008 NBA Draft. Tsagarakis started his professional career in France with JL Bourg-en-Bresse and continued with Paris-Levallois. He has played professional basketball only in France, with Châlons Reims, SOMB Boulogne-sur-Mer, and JA Vichy. iN 2014 Tsagarakis won the LNB Pro B champion with SOMB Boulogne-sur-Mer. In the last two seasons, Tsagarakis played in Greece for Trikala and Kymi. In 22 games with Trikala, he averaged 10.1 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 2.2 assists, while in 27 games with Kymi he averaged 6.9 points, 1.3 rebounds, and 1.2 assists.

Promitheas sign Oleksandr Lypovyy

Promitheas sign Oleksandr Lypovyy. The 26 years old Ukrainian guard continues in the Basket League Greece. Lypovyy joined Trikala a year ago and in 25 games for the Basket League he averaged 9.5 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game. Lypovyy started his career in Ukraine with BC Kyiv and has also played for BC Donetsk and Budivelnyk. Lypovyy has played in Serbia for Crvena Zvezda, in Georgia for VITA Tbilisi, and in Hungary for Szolnoki Olaj.

Doxa Lefkadas sign Justin Robinson

Doxa Lefkadas sign Justin Robinson. The 28 years old British guard will continue to play professional basketball in Greece with the newly promoted team of Lefkada. Robinson started his professional career with Marousi and has also played for Kolossos Rodou and Trikala. In the previous season Robinson was the second top scorer of Trikala, averaging 12.33 points per game.

Kymi signed Slaven Čupković

Kymi signed Slaven Čupković. The newly promoted team of Kymi will be the third Greek team for Čupković. The 28 years old Serbian forward started his career in Mašinac Kraljevo and came to Greece in 2014 for Trikala. With Trikala he averaged 12.4 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. One year later Čupković moved to Aris.

Kostas Flevarakis agreed terms with Rethymno Cretan Kings

Kostas Flevarakis agreed terms with Rethymno Cretan Kings. The Greek coach joined the club from Rethymno after two successful seasons with Trikala, replacing Thanasis Skourtopoulos. Flevarakis renewed his contract twice with Trikala, with only one break for the Polish play offs with AZS Koszalin.
Rethymno also announced Giorgos Koumoulos as its new technical manager.

Patrick Ewing Jr named MVP of fifth day

 Patrick Ewing Jr named MVP of the fifth day. Ewing scored made a double double against Ikaros Chalkidas with 17 points, 12 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 assist. His performance was ranked with 32 in the HBF ranking system so he was named MVP of the fifth day. Hellenic Basketball Clubs Association official site hosts an article for Ewing with title "Like father, like son!" mentioning of course his father Patrick Ewing. Patrick Jr plays 20 minutes on average in the first five games and with 9.8 points, 8.2 rebounds per game. Trikala BC renew with Giorgos Fountas

Aries Trikala BC, newly promoted in Greek Basketball League, renewed the contract of the captain Giorgos Fountas. 
Aries Trikala BC won promotion in First League after just one year in Second League. The team plays in the Municipal Stadium of Trikala.
