Ionikos Nikaias signed Jamal Jones

Ionikos Nikaias signed Jamal Jones. The 26-year-old guard is the first American signed by the newly-promoted club. Jones last played for PAOK averaging 7.7 points and 3.2 rebounds per game before he suffered damage to the cartilage in his right knee and was replaced by Tepic. Jones graduated from Texas A&M and was selected by the Delaware 87ers in Round 2 with Pick 12 in the 2014 NBA Development League Draft. Jones has also played in Italy with Verona, in France with Lille and in Finland with Kobrat.

Nikos Vetoulas and Kolossos Rodou part ways

Nikos Vetoulas and Kolossos Rodou part ways. The 44-year-old Greek coach parted ways with the club after six games with a 1-5 record. Vetoulas has already agreed terms with Ionikos Nikaias.

Ionikos Nikaias signed Roeland Schaftenaar

Ionikos Nikaias signed Roeland Schaftenaar. The newly promoted to A2 League team announced the 30-year-old Dutch international forward. Schaftenaar started his professional career in Spain with La Palma and has also played for Breogán. In 2014 Schaftenaar moved to Greece for Rethymno where he played for three seasons and in the last season, he played for Faros Larisas. 

Ionikos Nikaias signed Angelo Tsagarakis

Ionikos Nikaias (A2 League) signed Angelo Tsagkarakis. The 34-year-old Greek-French graduated from Cal Poly Pomona and went undrafted in the 2008 NBA Draft. Tsagarakis started his professional career in France with JL Bourg-en-Bresse and continued with Paris-Levallois. He has played professional basketball only in France, with Châlons Reims, SOMB Boulogne-sur-Mer, and JA Vichy. iN 2014 Tsagarakis won the LNB Pro B champion with SOMB Boulogne-sur-Mer. In the last two seasons, Tsagarakis played in Greece for Trikala and Kymi. In 22 games with Trikala, he averaged 10.1 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 2.2 assists, while in 27 games with Kymi he averaged 6.9 points, 1.3 rebounds, and 1.2 assists.
