Panionios sign Tony Woods

Panionios sign Tony Woods. The 27-year-old American center returns to Panionios where he played in 2014 averaging 7 points and 4.9 rebounds. Woods has also played for APOEL in Cyprus, in Romania for CS Energia Rovinari, in Greece for Apollon Patras, Kifisia, and Doxa Lefkadas, and most recently in the Dominican Republic for Soles de Santo Domingo and in Bulgaria for Rilski.

Kymi sign Ogo Adegboye

Kymi sign Ogo Adegboye. The 29 years old British guard started his professional career in Cyprus with APOEL. In 2013 Adegboye moved to Greece for Kifisia, and in the next season he moved to Aris, where he played for the whole season. After a good season with Aris Adegboye moved to Italy where he played for Vanoli Cremona, Juvecaserta Basket and Viola Reggio Calabria.

Kymi and Psathas part ways

Kymi and Giannis Psathas part ways. The 33 years old Greek forward parted ways with Kymi without playing a games for the BasketLeague, and will probably continues his career with Doxa Lefkadas. Psathas started his career with Achileas Triandias and has also played for ICBS, Chalkida, Panerythraikos, Rethymno, Apollon Patras, Psychiko, and Kifissia.

Doxa Lefkadas sign Tony Woods

Doxa Lefkadas sign Tony Woods*. The 26 years old American center joined the newly promoted team of Lefkada and will continue to play basketball in Greece. Woods signed with Kifisia in 2013 after a season that revived his career, averaging 6.5 points and 4.2 rebounds per game in 26 games, he moved to Panionios. In August 2015 Woods joined Apollon Patras, and was the third top scorer of his team, averaging 8.54 points per game.

*Doxa Lefkadas canceled the contract offer, due to Woods not passing his medical tests (knee problem).

Korivos sign Alexandros Spyridonidis

Korivos Amaliadas sign Alexandros Spyridonidis. The 21 years old Greek guard started his career with Ilisiakos in 2012. Spyridonidis has also played for KAOD and Kifisia in the Basket League Greece, and he was a member of the Greece U16, U18 and U20 national teams.

Kymi sign Dimitris Stamatis. The 20 years old Greek guard started his career from Evriali Glyfadas and was the top scorer of Athens top tier regional league in 2012-2013 season. Stamatis moved to Panionios in 2013 and after two seasons he moved to Kifisia where he played in the previous season

Kymi signed Muhammad El-Amin

Kymi signed Muhammad El-Amin. This will be the third Greek team for the 29 years old American. El-Amin's first Greek team was Apollon Patras in 2014, when he was called to replace Travis Cohn. El-Amin had a great season with Apollon finishing fifth in points scored and third in fouls won in the first round of Basket League 2014-2015. After Apollon he moved to Italy for Reggia JuveCaserta but he returned to Greece in middle season joining the team of Kifisia. When he finished the season in Greece El-Amin moved to Qatar for Al Sadd Doha.

PAOK sign Andreas Glyniadakis

PAOK sign Andreas Glyniadakis. The 35 years old Greek center penned an one year contract. Glyniadakis started his professional career with Panathinaikos and has played for Panellinios, Peristeri, AEK, Maroussi and Olympiacos in Greece. He has won Euroleague twice, in 2000 with Panathinaikos and 2012 with Olympiacos. Glyniadakis was selected by the Detroit Pistons with the 58th pick in the 2003 NBA Draft, and has played 13 games in the NBA with Seattle SuperSonics and in the NBA D-League with Roanoke Dazzle and Albuquerque Thunderbirds. In Europe he has also played in Kazakhstan with Astana, in Lithuania with Lietuvos Rytas, in Turkey with Royal Halı Gaziantep, and in Switzerland for Lions de Genève. In the last season Glyniadakis played for Kifisia averaging 9.5 points, 4.10 rebounds per game.

Promitheas signed Nikos Gikas

Promitheas signed Nikos Gikas. The 26 years old Greek guard played 28 games with Kifisia for Basket League 2015-2016, averaging 7.82 points and 3.93 assists per game. Gikas has also played for Filathlitikos and Aris in Greece and Ventspils in Latvia.

Elias Papatheodorou is Astana's new coach

Elias Papatheodorou is Astana's new coach. The 41 years old Greek coach parted ways with Kifisia after 9 years. Papatheodorou led Kifisia to the Basket League Play Offs. This will be the first time Papatheodorou will word abroad.

Kifisia joined FIBA Basketball Champions League

FIBA Basketball Champions League Logo
Kifisia joined FIBA Basketball Champions League. The team finished sixth in the Basket League Greece 2015-2016 and applied to join the new European League. FIBA approved Kifisia and it became the third Greek team after Aris and PAOK that will participate in the new league.

Olympiacos did not allowed Kifisia to score for a whole quarter!

Olympiacos did not allowed Kifisia to score for a whole quarter! For the 23rd day of the Basket League Greece 2015-2016 Olympiacos hosted Kifisia and the second half started with the home team leading the score 50-38. The reds scored 21 points in the third quarter but did not allowed Kifisia to score any points. Kifisia had 0/13 shots in that quarter. This is the worst scoring performance in a quarter in the history of the Basket League Greece.

Kifisia, Papatheodorou and referees got penalties for the game against Apollon

Coach Elias Papatheodorou got a penalty of one game day plus 2.750 euros fine for his behaviour in the game of Kifisia against Apollon Patras of the eight day of Basket League Greece 2015-2016. For the same reason the team of Kifisia got a 3.300 fine. The three referees of the game Karakatsounis, Deslis and Poursanidis were not included in the forthcoming games referee list due to their bad performance in the same game.

Diamantakos back to Kifisia cannot move to Apollon

Kifisia had agreed and Diamantakos moved to Apollon Patras but the transfer seems to stuck in transfers' rules. In Basket League Greece one team can give or accept only one player from another league team and Kifisia has already given Mavroeidis to AEK. The deal is stuck although Kifisia does not count on Diamantakos and Apollon is in need of the player.

Liakopoulos moves to Kifisia

Nikos Liakopoulos, 30 guard, will play for Kifisia after having a great season with Panelefsiniakos.
Liakopoulos was the fifth scorer of the Greek Basketball League 2012-2013, scoring in average 15.3 pointer per game with 52% accuracy in 2 points shoots. The experienced guard was also the top scorer of the Greek Second Division for 2010 and the top scorer of the Greek Third Division for 2011.
