Born on January 2, 1999, in Heraklion, Greece, Kalaitzakis stands at 6 feet 8 inches (2.03 meters) and plays as a shooting guard and small forward. His journey in professional basketball began with Panathinaikos Athens, where he played sporadically from the 2015-2016 season through the 2018-2019 season. His performances, although limited in minutes, showcased his potential.
In the 2019-2020 season, Kalaitzakis had his first stint in Lithuania with Nevezis. During this season, he demonstrated his scoring and playmaking abilities, averaging 11.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game.
