Olympiacos announced the mutual agreement to release Dimitris Mavroeidis. The player suffers from an injury but hasn't convinced the team for his skills.

Olympiacos defeated Zielona Góra for Euroleague

Olympiacos hosted and defeated Zielona Góra for Euroleague fifth day. Zielona Góra started the game better than Olympiacos and the first quarter finished with the visitor team ahead with double score, 11-22. Olympiacos improved in the second and the first half ended with the team from Poland ahead by 9, 33-42. Aaron Cel and Vladimir Dragičević had 10 points each in the first half. Olympiacos had many missed three pointers in the first half, 2/13 but its two pointers were keeping the team in the game, 11/15. Zielona Góra was ahead by 8 in the end of the third quarter and was ahead in the fourth until the end. In the final minutes Olympiacos approached and lowered the score to 2-3 points. In the final attack Vangelis Mantzaris scored a buzzer beater three pointer and Olympiacos continued its winning streak. This was the first successful field shot for Mantzaris in the game. Vladimir Dragičević finished the game with a double double, with 18 points and 12 rebounds.

Olympiacos Piraeus vs Sky Pinheiros for FIBA Intercontinental Cup

Olympiacos Piraeus will play against Sky Pinheiros for the FIBA Intercontinental Cup. Esporte Clube Pinheiros is the 2013 champion of  FIBA Americas League and Olympiacos Piraeus is the 2013 champion of Turkish Airlines Euroleague. The Intercontinental Cup final or the World Cup for Champion Clubs last took place in 1996 between Panathinaikos Athens and Olimpia Venado Tuerto with games in Athens and Rosario and Panathinaikos was the winner. Olympiacos will be the second team from Greece that will compete for the Intercontinental Cup but from Brasil Sky Pinheiros will be the fifth team after EC Sírio, Franca Basquetebol Clube, SC Corinthians and CA Monte Líbano.
