Lavrio signed Devin Thomas


Lavrio signed Devin Thomas. The 24-year old American forward graduated from Wake Forest and went undrafted in the 2016 NBA Draft. Thomas started his career in Turkey with TED Kolejliler and has also played in Spain with Bilbao and most recently in Israel for Hapoel Eilat. With Bilbao, Thomas averaged 8.7 points, 5 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game for the domestic league. In two games with Hapoel Eilat, he averaged 6 points and 3 rebounds.

Peristeri signed Ben Bentil


Peristeri signed Ben Bentil. The 23-year-old Ghanaian forward graduated from Providence and was selected by the Boston Celtics with the 51st overall pick in the 2016 NBA draft. Bentil was released by the Celtics and started his professional career in NBA D-League with Fort Wayne Mad Ants. Bentil played in China with a short contract for Xinjiang Flying Tigers before returning to Fort Wayne Mad Ants. In 2017 Bentil signed a ten-days contract with the Dallas Mavericks becoming the first Ghanaian player in the NBA. Bentil started the last season in France for Champagne Châlons-Reims Basket where he averaged 11.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.1 assists. He finished the season in Spain for Bilbao Basket where he averaged 3.7 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 0.5 assists per game. Bentil replaces Igor Kesar who parted ways with the team.

Kolossos Rodou signed Timothy Kempton


Kolossos Rodou signed Timothy Kempton jr. The 23-year-old American forward graduated from Lehigh and went undrafted in the 2017 NBA Draft. He was named Patriot League Rookie of the Year in 2014, named twice Patriot League Player of the Year (2015 and 2016), and he named in the First-team All-Patriot League for three seasons. Kempton started his professional career in Spain with Bilbao but after eleven games he moved to Israel for Bnei Herzliya. In 25 games with Bnei Herzliya he averaged 3.8 points and 3.3 rebounds.

Shawn James parted ways with Olympiacos

Shawn James parted ways with Olympiacos. The 32 years old American center agreed terms with Olympiacos in early December in order to replace the injured Patrick Young. After having played 5 games in the Euroleague and 5 games in the Basket League Greece, averaging 3.4 points/1.6 rebounds and 4.4 points/2.6 rebounds respectively, the player asked to leave the team.

Olympiacos agreed terms with Shawn James

It is official Olympiacos agreed terms with Shawn James. The Greek team paid the 20.000 euros fee for the release of James from Bilbao and has added injury terms on his new contract. James will replace Patrick Young and has penned a contract until the end of the season.
The 32 years old American center graduated from Northeastern University with the 9th in the all time ranking for blocks and five triple doubles in the NCAA. He went undrafted in the NBA Draft 2008 and then started his professional career in Israel for Bnei Hasharon. After three years he moved the Israeli Champions Maccabi Tel Aviv and played in Euroleague. In the summer of 2014 he moved to Italy for Emporio Armani Milano and after one year he moved to Spain for Bilbao Basket where he started this season.

Kostas Vasileiadis returns to PAOK

Kostas Vasileiadis returns to PAOK. The 31 years old Greek guard returns to PAOK for third time and penned an one year contract. Vasileiadis started his professional career with PAOK where he played for six years (2000-2006). He returned to PAOK for the second time in 2008 after having played one year for Málaga and another for Olympiacos. After Olympiacos he penned a contract in Italy with Sutor Basket Montegranaro but he played in Spain for Obradoiro, Bilbao Basket and Unicaja Malaga, with a break in 2008-2009 when he played in Turkey for Anadolu Efes.

Panionios lost by Bilbao for Eurocup Last 32

Panionios lost by Bilbao for Eurocup Last 32. Panionios didn't have motive since the team was counting 5 defeats in 5 games for the Eurocup Last 32 round. Panionios started with a 6-0 run but Bilbao with a 13-0 and took the lead of the score. Bilbao was ahead in score by near 10 points. In the third quarter Panionios lowered the difference to 3 points but Mumbru with three pointers didn't let home team any chance. In the five minutes Panionios made a 22-8 run but couldn't win one game for the Last 32 round in Eurocup. Elimination with six defeats in six games for Panionios and Eurocup will continue without any teams from Greece.

Bilbao defeated Panionios for Eurocup Last 32

Bilbao hosted and defeated Panionios for Eurocup Last 32 second round. It was a bad game for Panionios that lost with broad score. Only Errick McCollum was good, as usual, with 28 points. McCollum alone wasn't enough to win Bilbao that had 6 players scoring more than 10 points. Roger Grimau led six Bilbao players in double digits with 18 points. Gabriel scored 15, Pilepic 14, and Zoran Vrkic added 11 points. Dairis Bertans and Damir Markota each added 10 points for Bilbao.
Quarters' scores: 21-19, 40-30, 69-39, 93-62.

Panionios in Group L of Last 32 Eurocup

Panionios qualified for the Last 32 round of Eurocup and the draw placed the team on Group L. Besides Panionios in the Group L are Crvena Zvezda Telekom, Nizhny Novgorod and Bilbao Basket. Crvena Zvezda Telekom was in Euroleague where it lost two games by another Greek team, Panathinaikos. Nizhny Novgorod was in the same group with PAOK, where the Greek team was eliminated and Nizhny won it twice. From first two teams of the group qualify to the next round.
