Lavrio signed William Buford. The 28-year-old American guard graduated from Ohio State and went undrafted in the 2012 NBA Draft. Giannopoulos has played for PAOK, Olympiacos, Panionios, Peristeri and Panathinaikos before going to Liga ACB, and has been a member of all young national teams of Greece.

The Greek player had an offer by Bàsquet Club MoraBanc Andorra to replace the injured Victor Sada but he preferred to stay in Panionios. The team approached Xanthopoulos since he is experienced in the Spanish ACB Liga with Obradoiro and would have another Greek (Giorgos Bogris) in the team.
