Dimitris Agravanis Heads to China for Summer League Stint with Hefei

Greek power forward Dimitris Agravanis (30 years old, 2.08m / 6'9") is set to participate in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) Summer League, where he will play for Hefei Storm (合肥狂风). This marks a new chapter for Agravanis, following his recent tenure in the Icelandic league.

The move to China for the summer league is a temporary one and will not impact Agravanis's ability to join a European team for the upcoming regular season. His commitments with Hefei are expected to conclude in September, allowing him to pursue opportunities closer to home.

Agravanis's Journey So Far

Born on December 20, 1994, in Athens, Dimitris Agravanis has built a robust career across various European leagues and with the Greek National Team. He is known for his versatility as a power forward who can also play center.

His professional journey began in Greece, playing for Maroussi (2010-2012) and Panionios (2012-2013) before a significant period with Olympiacos Piraeus (2013-2019). During his time with Olympiacos, he gained valuable Euroleague experience and contributed to their domestic successes.

Following his departure from Olympiacos, Agravanis played for Promitheas Patras for three seasons (2019-2022), showcasing his scoring and rebounding prowess. He then had stints with GeVi Napoli in Italy (2022-2023), Peristeri, and Panathinaikos Athens in Greece (2022-2023). Most recently, he played for Río Breogán in Spain (2023-2024), AEK Athens in Greece (2023-2024), Neptunas in Lithuania, and Tindastoll in Iceland (2024-2025).

Recent Performance

In the most recent 2024-25 season, Agravanis played four games for Tindastoll in the Icelandic Express League, averaging 14.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.5 assists. His time in China will offer him a chance to stay in game shape and potentially attract attention for his next European destination.
