Rethymno signed Keith Clanton

Rethymno signed Keith Clanton. The 28-year-old American center graduated from the University of Central Florida and went undrafted in the 2013 NBA Draft. Clanton started his professional career in Poland with Anwil and continued in South Korea with Seoul Samsung Thunders. He has also played in Puerto Rico with Leones de Ponce, in Israel for Hapoel Beer Sheva, in Bulgaria with Lukoil Academic and Levski Sofia, and in Greece with PAOK. Clanton signed with PAOK in March 2016 and renewed his contract for one more season. In the last season, Clanton won the Bulgarian Championship.

Lavrio sign Dimitris Verginis

Lavrio sign Dimitris Verginis. The 30 years old Greek guard penned an one year contract with Lavrio. Verginis started his professional career with PAOK in 2008. Verginis has played for Panathinaikos, Aris, Panionios, and Apollon Patras in Greece, for Bilbao in Spain and for Lukoil Academic in Bulgaria. In the previous season with Apollon Patras Verginis averaged 7.1 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game.

Kymi sign Kostov Cavdar

Kymi sign Kostov Cavdar. The 28 years old Bulgarian started his career in Bulgaria with Lukoil Academic where he played for five years. In 2010 Chavdar moved to Greece for Kavala. He has also played for Levski Sofia in Bulgaria and UBC Güssing Knights in Austria. In the previous season Chavdar played for Kavala and averaged 12.8 points and 5.4 rebounds per game, the top scorer of Kavala for the Basket League.

AEK sign Dimitris Charitopoulos

AEK sign Dimitris Charitopoulos. The 33 years old Greek forward penned an one year contract with AEK. Charitopoulos started his career with GS Siatistas and moved to Aris in 2002 where he won the EuroCup Challenge and the Greek Cup. In 2006 Charitopoulos moved to PAOK and later he also played for Panionios and Marousi. He has also played for ASVEL Basket in France, for Bàsquet Manresa and CB Valladolid in Spain, and Lukoil Academic in Bulgaria. Charitopoulos returned to Greece in 2015 for PAOK, and a year later he moved to Korivos Amaliadas. In 23 games with Korivos he averaged 8.4 points and 3.1 rebounds per game.

Aris beat Lukoil in friendly game. Lukoil Academic was leading the score with ease for more than three quarters but Aris managed to counter attack in the last quarter and won a tight game.

KAOD announced that the team preparation will begin on August 25th in the team's home Krachtidis court in Drama. The team has planned eight friendly games:

12-13-14 September: Kymi Tournament with Kymi, Nea Kifisia and Panelefsiniakos.
20 September: KAOD - PAOK (Drama)

Rethymno Aegean lost from Lukoil Academic for Petros Oikonomakis tournament

Rethymno Aegean lost from Lukoil Academic for Petros Oikonomakis tournament. After losing from Panionios in first day and from Panathinaikos in second day, Rethymno finished the tournament with three defeats. Although Rethymno Aegean was leading the score for more than 30 minutes but the Bulgarian champions Lukoil Academic managed to win the game in the end by two points. Panionios lost in the end with 74-75 from Lukoil Academic in Petros Oikonomakis friendly tournament second day. Langford equalized the score 7 seconds before the end but White scored one free throw and in the remaining 2.5 seconds Panionios didn't score any points. Lukoil Academic has played in Drama friendly tournament against PAOK and KAOD, but not against Panionios. Lukoil has also played against Aris in friendly game after the transfer of Dimitris Verginis from Aris to Lukoil Academic.

PAOK wins Panionios in Drama friendly tournament final

PAOK won Lukoil Academic and Panionios won hosting team KAOD, so they met in final where PAOK won Panionios with 65-56. Quarters' scores were 20-15, 35-25, 50-44, 65-5.

PAOK had a great team game with 9 players scoring while for Panionios only 6 players scored with McCollum scoring 16 points and Batis 12.

Panathinaikos, Panionios, Rethymno, Lukoil Academic friendly tournament

 AGOR (Rethymno) will organize and host Petros Oikonomakis basketball friendly tournament on 4-6 October. Besides Rethymno, Panathinaikos and Panionios will participate from Greece and Lukoil Academic from Bulgaria. Lukoil Academic will replace Aris BC who was to participate in the tournament. The team from Bulgaria recently signed Dimitris Verginis.
