PAOK sign Thodoris Zaras

PAOK sign Thodoris Zaras. The 30 years old Greek guard/forward penned a two years contract with PAOK. Zaras started his career with Stavroupoli and ICBS, before moving to AE Larisa in 2008. In the next season Zaras moved to Kolossos and then to Kavala. In 2011 Zaras moved to KAOD where he played four seasons, averaging 13.2 points, 2.3 assists, and 2.1 rebounds in his last season. In 2015 Zaras moved to Aris, where he averaged 6.2 points in his first season and 7.7 points in his second season.

Korivos sign Alexandros Spyridonidis

Korivos Amaliadas sign Alexandros Spyridonidis. The 21 years old Greek guard started his career with Ilisiakos in 2012. Spyridonidis has also played for KAOD and Kifisia in the Basket League Greece, and he was a member of the Greece U16, U18 and U20 national teams.

Apollon Patras sign Diamantis Slaftsakis

Apollon Patras sign Diamantis Slaftsakis. The 22 years old Greek forward penned a two years contract. Slaftsakis will work again with coach Mexas, with the two having worked together in KAOD for two seasons. Slaftsakis started his career with Chalkidona and moved to Mantoulidis. In 2012 he signed with KAOD and in the last season he played for Korivos Amalidas, averaging 4.3 points and 2.5 rebounds per game.

PAOK and Markovic parted ways

PAOK and Nikola Markovic parted ways. The 27 years old Serbian forward agreed terms with PAOK one year ago and played 28 games for Basket League Greece. Markovic averaged 7.18 points and 5.04 rebounds in the last season. Markovic has also played for KAOD and Panelefsiniakos in Greece.

PAOK beat KAOD for Basket League third day

PAOK beat KAOD in Drama for Basket League third day. KAOD is usually troubling PAOK in Drama but this time the team of Soulis Markopoulos managed to win a tough game in the end. Carter who had 18 points made a crucial block in the end on Diamantis Slaftsakis and secured the victory. For KAOD Thodoris Zaras had 18 points and Rod Odom had 8 points and 8 rebounds. For PAOK, besides Carter, Kostas Charalampidis had 16 points, Apollon Tsochlas had 14 points and Christos Saloustros had 7 rebounds.

Rethymno Aegean beat KAOD for Basket League second day

Rethymno Aegean hosted and defeated KAOD for Basket League second day. First quarter was bad for both team with many missed shots (4/16 field goald for each team) and low score, 9-11. The second quarter was slightly beter but still tight and in the end Rethymno Aegean with Faye and Schaftenaar created a difference of 6 points, 35-29. Allen and Schaftenaar for Rethymno finished the first half with 9 points each. The home team improved at third quarter and with Simpson and Schaftenaar expanded the difference to 9 points, 50-41. KAOD was pressing Rethymno but the home team dominated rebounds and won the game. Mouhammad Faye finished the game with a double double, 19 points and 11 rebounds. Roeland Schaftenaar had 11 points, 6 rebounds and Trevis Simpson had 13 points. For KAOD Eric Atkins had 16 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds. Rob Loe had 13 points, Thororis Zaras had 12 points and Terone Johnson 7 points and 5 assists.

KAOD beat Aries Trikala for Basket League first day

KAOD hosted and beat Aries Trikala for Basket League first day. In tight game KAOD managed to start the season with a victory. Terone Johnson scored 12 points, while Rob Loe and Linos Chrysikopoulos score 10 points each. Diamantis Slaftsakis scored 3 points but collected 13 rebounds. For Aries Trikala only Justin Ingram scored more than 10 points and served 6 assists while Cupkovic scored 9 points and collected 6 rebounds.

PAOK beat KAOD for Greek Cup

PAOK hosted and beat KAOD for Greek Cup. Without facing problems PAOK won KAOD and qualified to the next round of the Greek Cup. For the winners Marc Carter had 17 points, Julian Vaughn 13 points and Jake Odum and Christos Saloustros 10 points each.

KAOD signed Giorgos Georgakis

KAOD signed Giorgos Georgakis. The 23 years old Greek center signed a three years contract with the team from Drama. Georgakis started his career from Mantoulidis and then moved to Kavala, Olympiacos and Aries Trikala. Georgakis is member of all youth national teams of Greece.

Aris beat KAOD in friendly game

Aris beat KAOD in the first friendly game of the season for both teams. KAOD started much better and was leading the score by 7-22 in the first quarter but Aris counter attacked and made a 19-0 run in the second half, winning the game by 7 points.

KAOD BC roster 2014-2015

KAOD signed Rob Loe

KAOD signed Robert "Rob" Loe. The 23 years old New Zealander is 2.11 meter high and member of the national team of New Zealand which participated in the FIBA World Basket Championship Spain 2014. In the tournament Loe averaged 3.5 points and 2.8 rebounds per game. Loe graduated from Saint Louis where he played for Saint Louis Billikens averaging 10.3 points and 5.7 rebounds per game.

KAOD signed Stratos Voulgaropoulos

KAOD signed Stratos Voulgaropoulos. Voulgaropoulos is 14 years old (born in 1989), 2.08 meters high and was playing for Rupel Sidirokastrou. 

Thodoris Zaras renews with KAOD

Thodoris Zaras renews with KAOD. The captain will play for one more year in Drama for KAOD. In the previous season Zaras played 28 games with KAOD averaging 7 points in 19 minutes per game.

Panelefsiniakos signed Nikola Marković

Panelefsiniakos signed Nikola Marković. The 25 years old Serbian player had a great season with KAOD averaging 8.1 points and 7.3 rebounds per game in 28 games. Marković made a double double against Panelefsiniakos in the previous season with 16 points and 10 rebounds.

KAOD signed Terone Johnson

KAOD signed Terone Johnson. The 23 years old guard graduated from Purdue College where he played four seasons with Purdue Boilermakers, averaging 12.0 points and 3.7 rebounds in the last season. Terone Johnson was named MVP at team banquet, becoming the 16th player to twice be named MVP, which is determined by a vote of the players. A rookie that comes with high expectations in the Basket League Greece 2014-2015.

KAOD signed Rod Odom. Odom graduated from Vanderbilt where he played for four seasons averaging 13.6 points and 5.2 rebounds in the last season. He played one game with Golden State Warriors in the Summer League.

KAOD preparation and friendly games


KAOD announced that the team preparation will begin on August 25th in the team's home Krachtidis court in Drama. The team has planned eight friendly games:

9 September: Aris - KAOD (Thessaloniki)
12-13-14 September: Kymi Tournament with Kymi, Nea Kifisia and Panelefsiniakos.
20 September: KAOD - PAOK (Drama)
24 September: KAOD - Gaziantep (Thessaloniki)
26-27 September: Samokov Tournament with Rilski Sportist Samokov, Lukoil Academic and KK MZT Skopje.
