AEK sign Loukas Mavrokefalidis

AEK sign Loukas Mavrokefalidis. The 32 years old Greek center played 21 games in China with Qingdao DoubleStar Eagles (青岛双星雄鹰), and now returns back to Greece and AEK until the end of the season.

AEK sign Brad Newley

AEK sign Brad Newley. The 32 years old Australian guard - forward penned a contract for the rest of the season, replacing Jawad Williams. Newly started his career with Townsville Crocodiles. In 2007 he was selected with the 54th overall pick in the 2007 NBA draft by the Houston Rockets, but only played three games at the Summer League. Newly continued his career in Greece with Panionios, averaging 10 points and 3.2 rebounds in 38 games. In 2008 he moved to Panellinios, where he averaged 10.6 points and 4.3 rebounds per game in 28 games. After Greece Newley moved to Turkey for Beşiktaş, then Lithuania for Lietuvos Rytas, Spain for Valencia and Gran Canaria, and back in Australia for Sydney Kings. With Sydney Kings Newley averaged 17.5 points and 5 rebounds in 23 games.

AEK and Jawad Williams part ways

AEK and Jawad Williams part ways. The 34 years old American forward signed with AEK in the previous summer, and played 16 games with AEK for Basket League Greece, averaging 8.94 points and 3 rebounds per game. At his best game Williams scored 19 points against Korivos Amaliadas for the ninth day. Williams continues his career in Italy with Reggio Emilia.

AEK and Yannick Franke part ways

AEK and Yannick Franke part ways. The 20 years old Dutch player agreed terms with Promitheas, but the two sides didn't make it official, so he penned a three years contract with AEK. Franke and AEK parted ways one and a half months later, since the young Dutch didn't play any official game with the club.

AEK sign Yannick Franke

AEK sign Yannick Franke for three years. The 20 years old Dutch guard agreed terms with Promitheas in September but the two sides parted ways before signing a contract. Franke started his professional career with Zorg en Zekerheid Leiden. In 2013 Franke moved to Challenge Sports Rotterdam and in his second year he became the youngest scoring champion in the history of the Dutch DBL, averaging 19.6 points per game. In the next season Franke moved to Donar Groningen, which was his last team in the Netherlands as in the next season he moved to Finland for Bisons Loimaa. With Bisons Loimaa Franke averaged 15.7 points, 5 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. Franke was a member of the Netherlands National Basketball team that participated in the Eurobasket 2017 Qualifications, averaging 9.8 points, 3 rebounds and 1 assist per game in the tournament.

AEK sign Randal Falker

AEK sign Randal Falker. The 31 years old American forward/center graduated from Southern Illinois and went undrafted in the 2008 NBA Draft. Falker penned an one year contract with AEK and replaced Josh Owens. Falker started his professional career in France with Cholet, where he played for four seasons. In 2012 Falker moved to Turkey and Beşiktaş for one season and returned in France for SLUC Nancy Basket, where he played for three seasons. With Besiktas Falker averaged 2.4 points and 3.2 rebounds in 11 games. In his first season with Nancy Falker averaged 10.9 points and 9.4 rebounds in 37 games, and he was named French League Foreign Player's MVP for the year 2014. In his last season with Nancy Falker averaged 8.9 points and 9.2 rebounds in 38 games.

AEK waived Josh Owens

AEK waived Josh Owens. The 27 years old American penned a contract with AEK in June 2016, but was waived by the club on October 10th 2016. Owens played two official games with AEK, one for the Cup (4p) and one for the League (2p). Owens agreed terms to continue his career in Turkey with Pınar Karşıyaka. AEK replaced Owens with Randal Falker.

AEK sign Roko Leni Ukić. The 32 years old Croatian guard penned an one year contract with AEK. Ukić started his career with KK Split. Ukić has played for Barcelona and Tau Cerámica in Spain, for Fenerbahçe Ülker in Turkey, for Lottomatica Roma in Italy, for Cedevita Zagreb in Croatia, for Pallacanestro Varese and Pallacanestro Cantùnin Italy, for Panathinaikos in Greece, and has also played with Toronto Raptors and Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA.

AEK sign Dimitris Charitopoulos

AEK sign Dimitris Charitopoulos. The 33 years old Greek forward penned an one year contract with AEK. Charitopoulos started his career with GS Siatistas and moved to Aris in 2002 where he won the EuroCup Challenge and the Greek Cup. In 2006 Charitopoulos moved to PAOK and later he also played for Panionios and Marousi. He has also played for ASVEL Basket in France, for Bàsquet Manresa and CB Valladolid in Spain, and Lukoil Academic in Bulgaria. Charitopoulos returned to Greece in 2015 for PAOK, and a year later he moved to Korivos Amaliadas. In 23 games with Korivos he averaged 8.4 points and 3.1 rebounds per game.

AEK sign Dimitris Mavroeidis

AEK sign Dimitris Mavroeidis. The 31 years old Greek center penned an one year contract with AEK. Mavroeidis joined AEK in November 2015 and played the whole season with the club. The Greek center was not included in the new season's scheduling by coach Zdovc but since AEK and Mavrokefalidis parted ways the club decided to continue with Mavroeidis.

Giorgos Dedas retires and joins AEK technical crew

Giorgos Dedas retires and joins AEK technical crew. The 36 years old Greek forward announced that he retires from professional basketball and will start his coaching career with AEK and coach Jurij Zdovc. Coach started his career with MENT and had also played for Iraklis, Breogan Lugo, Beirasar Rosalia, Caceres, PAOK and Rethymno. In Iraklis Dedas had worked with coach Zdovc, who has also worked with George's brother Stefanos.

AEK signed Giannoulis Larentzakis

AEK signed Giannoulis Larentzakis. The 23 years old Greek guard penned a three years old contract with AEK and returns to Greece after a short break in Spain for Zaragoza. Larentzakis debuted in Basket League Greece with Ikaros Chalkidas, then moved to Aris but the team gave him on loan to Kolossos Rodou. He played two seasons with Kolossos Rodou and in the last season he played 25 games averaging 11.76 points, 4.28 rebounds and 3 assists in 23 minutes per game.

AEK sign Manolis Chatzidakis

AEK sign Manolis Chatzidakis. The 16 years old Greek center is 2.08 meters high and member of the Greek U16 national team. Chatzidakis has played for Panionios Lerou, Kronos Agiou Dimitriou and Ikaros Kallitheas.

AEK sign Dionysis Skoulidas

AEK sign Dionysis Skoulidas. The 19 years old Greek forward penned a three years contract. Skoulidas started his career with Peristeri and he is a member of Greece U17 and U20 national teams.

AEK signed Viktoras Gkoualtieri

AEK signed Viktoras Gkoualtieri. The 17 years old Greek guard started his career with Panelefsiniakos and debuted in Basket League against Panathinaikos. Gkoualtieri is 1.91 meters high and he was a member of the Greece U16 national team.

Milan Milošević renews with AEK

Milan Milošević renews with AEK. The 30 years old Bosnian forward renewed his contract and will remain with the club for a third season, as he renewed his first contract a year ago.

AEK signed Mike Dixon

AEK signed Michael "Mike" Dixon Jr.. The 26 years old American Georgian guard played in college for the Missouri Tigers and graduated from the University of Memphis where he played for the Memphis Tigers. Dixon went undrafted in the 2014 NBA Draft and started his professional career in Lithuania for Dzūkija, but finished the season with Pieno žvaigždės. In the next season Dixon played in the Czech Republic for ČEZ Nymburk, where he won the domestic championship, while averaging 14.3 points, 2.7 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.4 steals in 31 games in the VTB League. Dixon has gained the Georgian citizenship in order to play for the national team of Georgia.

AEK signed Josh Owens

AEK signed Josh Owens. The 27 years old American forward graduated from Stanford, and he went undrafted in the 2012 NBA Draft. Owens started his career in the NBA D-League with the Idaho Stampede, and in the next year he moved to Israel for Hapoel Tel Aviv. In the last two years he played in Italy for Dolomiti Energa Trento and Umana Reyer Venezia.

AEK signed Kostas Vasileiadis

AEK signed Kostas Vasileiadis. This will be the third Greek team for the 32 years old guard/forward. Vasileiadis started his career from PAOK and has also played for Olympiacos in 2007-2008. He has played for Baloncesto Malaga, Obradoiro, Bilbao, and Unicaja Malaga in Spain. A year ago Vasileiadis returned to Greece and PAOK, and he was the second top scorer of PAOK averaging 14.7 points per game. AEK was searching for a scorer from the Greek League, with its first target being Vlado Jankovic, but the young player prefers to talk with his current team first. Vasileiadis will get 250.000 euros per season.
