Cavell Johnson and Promitheas part ways

Cavell Johnson and Promitheas part ways. The 31 years old American agreed terms with the newly promoted team in August, and played eight games for the Basket League Greece. Johnson got a leg injury at the game against Trikala, but besides that he informed the club that he wants to return to the USA due to family problems. Johnson averages 6.63 points, 4.13 rebounds, and 1.38 blocks per game. His best performance was against Apollon Patras, with 19 points and 3 blocks.

Promitheas Patron sign Lasan Kromah

Promitheas Patron sign Lasan Kromah. The 25 years old forward replaces Rashad Anderson who parted ways with the club. Kromah graduated from Connecticut where he played for Connecticut Huskies winning the 2014 NCAA Championship. After going undrafted in the 2014 NBA draft and joined the Brooklyn Nets for the 2014 NBA Summer League. He started his professional career in Hungary for Alba Fehérvár, and has also played in Turkey for Torku Konyaspor, and in Greece for Kavala. With Kavala Kromah played 14 games in the Basket League Greece, averaging 14.8 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.8 steals. Kromah started this season in the NBA D-League with the Westchester Knicks.

AEK and Yannick Franke part ways

AEK and Yannick Franke part ways. The 20 years old Dutch player agreed terms with Promitheas, but the two sides didn't make it official, so he penned a three years contract with AEK. Franke and AEK parted ways one and a half months later, since the young Dutch didn't play any official game with the club.

Promitheas waived Eli Carter

Promitheas Patron waived Eli Carter. The American rookie penned his first professional contract with Promitheas in July 2016 but he was waived by the team after having played only couple games for the Greek Cup, where Promitheas was eliminated by Korivos. Promitheas replaced Carter with the more experienced Rashad Anderson.

Promitheas sign Rashad Shaheed Anderson. The 32 years old American player replaced Eli Carter that was released by the club. Anderson graduated from Connecticut where he played professional basketball for the Connecticut Huskies. After going undrafted in the 2006 NBA Draft Anderson started his professional career in Greece with Egaleo BC, where he averaged 14.1 points and 2.7 rebounds per game. Since then Anderson has played in many countries and clubs, such as in Italy for Livorno, Udine, and Cremona, in Lebanon for Al Riyadi, in Iran for Zob Ahan Isfahan, in Lavtia for Ventspils, in Cyprus for Paralimni and in France for Le Havre. In the previous season Anderson played in Hungary for MAFC, averaging 24.3 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game.

Promitheas sign Yannick Franke

Promitheas Patron sign Yannick Ayrton Franke*. The 20 years old Dutch guard started his professional career with Zorg en Zekerheid Leiden. In 2013 Franke moved to Challenge Sports Rotterdam and in his second year he became the youngest scoring champion in the history of the Dutch DBL, averaging 19.6 points per game. In the next season Franke moved to Donar Groningen, which was his last team in the Netherlands as in the next season he moved to Finland for Bisons Loimaa. With Bisons Loimaa Franke averaged 15.7 points, 5 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. Franke was a member of the Netherlands National Basketball team that participated in the Eurobasket 2017 Qualifications, averaging 9.8 points, 3 rebounds and 1 assist per game in the tournament.

*The two sides parted ways in the process of penning the contract, due to increased demands by the player's agent.

Promitheas sign Dimitris Gravas

Promitheas Patron sign Dimitris Gravas. The 23 years old Greek forward started his career with Keravnos Larisas and has also played for Ampelona, Aris U18, Stratoni, Mantoulidis and Mahites Doxas Pefkon. In the previous season he played in A2 League with Mahites Doxa Pefkon averaging 10.2 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game.

Promitheas sign McKenzie Moore

Promitheas sign McKenzie Moore. The 24 years old American guard graduated from UTEP Miners and started his professional career in New Zealand with Nelson Giants. Moore joined the Milwaukee Bucks for the 2015 Las Vegas Summer League and in November 2015 he moved to Belgium for Leuven Bears. Moore was released from Leuven Bears due to an injury and after he recovered he returned to New Zealand for Canterbury Rams. With Canterbury Rams Moore was named MVP of the League, averaging 22.4 points, 6.2 rebounds, 8 assists and 3.4 steals per game. Moore joined Mavericks summer league team for the 2016 NBA Summer League, before moving to Greece and Promitheas Patron.

Promitheas sign Cavell Johnson

Promitheas Patron sign Cavell Johnson. The 31 years old American forward graduated from University of Maryland. After he went undrafted in the 2008 NBA Drafts he started his professional career with the Beltway Bombers in the Atlantic Coast Professional Basketball League (ACPBL). Bomers won the championship and Johnson was named MVP of the Finals. He continued his career in Canada for Saint John Mill Rats and Orangeville A's. With Orangeville A's he was named NBL Canada Defensive Player of the Year (2014), NBL Canada All-Star (2014), and NBL Canada Slam Dunk Champion (2014). In 2015 Johnson moved to Europe for Salon Vilpas Vikings in Finland, and finished the season in Hungary for MAFC Budapest.

Promitheas sign Eli Carter. The 25 years old American guard graduated from Boston College. Carter averaged 16 points, 4 assists and 3.9 rebounds in 31 games. Promitheas will be his first professional contract and the first time Carter will play overseas.

Promitheas signed Sarikopoulos

Promitheas Patron signed Zisis Sarikopoulos. The 26 years old Greek center parted ways with AEK, where he played in the last two years. Sarikopoulos has played for Marousi, Panionios, Aris, and AEK. In 21 games with AEK for Basket League Greee 2015-2016 Sarikopoulos averaged 2.29 points and 2.43 rebounds in 8 minutes per game.

Promitheas Patras sign Mouhammad Faye. For Faye this will be his fourth team in Basket League Greece, since he has played for Ikaros Kallitheas, Panelefsiniakos and Rethymno. The 31 years old Senegalese player counts 79 games in Basket League averaging 11.78 points and 8 rebounds per game. In the previous season Faye played 21 games with Varese in Italy, averaging 9.33 points and 7.86 rebounds per game.

Promitheas signed Nikos Gikas. The 26 years old Greek guard played 28 games with Kifisia for Basket League 2015-2016, averaging 7.82 points and 3.93 assists per game. Gikas has also played for Filathlitikos and Aris in Greece and Ventspils in Latvia.

Nikos Vetoulas is Promitheas new coach

Nikos Vetoulas is Promitheas' new coach. The newly promoted team of Promitheas announced the agreement between the team and the coach Nikos Vetoulas. The 42 years old Greek started his coaching career as an assistant coach for Aris in 2008. In 2010 Vetoulas became the head coach of Apollon Patras, the team where he started his career as a player too, and he remained the head coach of Apollon until 2015. In May 2016 Vetoulas moved to Switzerland for SAM Basket Massagno.
