Rethymno sign Trayvonn Wright. The 26 years old American forward penned an 1+1 years contract. Wright graduated from North Dakota, where he averaged 8.91 points and 4.9 rebounds per game. He started his professional career in UK with the Leicester Riders, where he averaged 12.69 points and 6.88 rebounds in his first season and 13.08 points and 7 rebounds per game in his second season. In the previous season Wright played in Sweden for Boras, averaging 12 points and 5.1 rebounds per game.
Kolossos Rodou sign Stavros Schizas. The 28 years old Greek guard/forward started his professional career in 2014 with Rethymno where he played for two years. In his last season with Rethymno Schizas averaged 4.35 points and 2.27 rebounds in 15 minutes per game.
In the previous season Schizas played with Kymi averaging 4.1 points and 2.1 rebounds in 22 games.
Rethymno Cretan Kings sign William Shaq (Shaquille) Goodwin. The 22 years old American forward penned an 1+1 years contract with Rethymno. Goodwin graduated from Memphis where he played four years with the Memphis Tigers. In his last season Goodwin averaged 14.67 points and 7.55 rebounds per game. Goodwin started his professional career in Cyprus with AEK Larnaca, averaging 15.83 points and 4.33 rebounds per game. After 8 games with AEK Larnaca Goodwin moved to Germany for Science City Jena where he averaged 8.86 points and 5 rebounds per game.
Arkadikos signed Efthimis Tsakaleris. The 27 years old Greek forward penned an one year contract with Arkadikos. Tsakaleris started his career from Anagennisi Flogas and has also played for Panellinios, PAOK, Aris, Panelefsiniakos and Rethymno in Greece, and KB Bashkimi in Kosovo.
Promitheas Patras sign Mouhammad Faye. For Faye this will be his fourth team in Basket League Greece, since he has played for Ikaros Kallitheas, Panelefsiniakos and Rethymno. The 31 years old Senegalese player counts 79 games in Basket League averaging 11.78 points and 8 rebounds per game. In the previous season Faye played 21 games with Varese in Italy, averaging 9.33 points and 7.86 rebounds per game.
Rethmyno Cretan Kings and coach Thanasis Skourtopoulos parted ways after two years. Rethymno signed Skourtopoulos in July 2014 with one year contract. Skourtopoulos continues as the assistant coach of Katsikaris in the Greek National Team. In the last two years Rethmyno finished in the 8th place of the Basket League Greece 2015-2016 Regular Season and in the 6th place of the 2014-2015 Regular Season.
Panathinaikos beat Rethymno in a friendly game that took place in Melina Merkouri hall. Panathinaikos played with Vlantimir Krisievic, Giorgos Galiotos and Kostas Papadakis who participate in the summer preparation. George Papagiannis and Vlado Giankovits scored 20 points each. Rethymno Aegean changed name, colours, sponsors and replica becoming the Rethymno Cretan Kings in red. The team of Rethymno aims to be the basketball team of whole Crete. The new logo of the team bears the horns of Minotaur, most famous Cretan sign. The home of the team did not change and will remain in Rethymno, Crete of course.
