Aris and Jekins part ways

Aris and Michael Jekins part ways. The 30 years old American joined Aris in July and played 19 games in Basket League Greece 2016-2017. Jenkins averaged 9.95 points, 2.89 rebounds, and 2.16 assists in 23 minutes per game. His best game in Greece was against Promitheas, when he scored 29 points. The two sides agreed on a mutual termination of his contract, since the team delayed some payments.

Kymi sign Jason Cadee

Kymi sign Jason Cadee. The 26 years old Australian guard signed a contract until the end of the season, with Kymi being his first team outside Australia. Cadee started his career with Gold Coast Blaze in 2010 and has also played for Adelaide 36ers, Super City Rangers, and Sydney Kings.

Doxa Lefkadas and Charis Markopoulos part ways

Doxa Lefkadas and Haris Markopoulos part ways as the club officially announced. Markopoulos started his career as a head coach with Korivos Amaliadas, and after keeping the team two straight years in the Basket League he moved to the newly promoted Doxa Lefkadas. Doxa is currently at the bottom of the league table with only 3 wins after 18 games. The former head coach of Doxa, and assistant coach of Markopoulos, Fotis Takianos will manage the team until the end of the season.

AEK sign Brad Newley

AEK sign Brad Newley. The 32 years old Australian guard - forward penned a contract for the rest of the season, replacing Jawad Williams. Newly started his career with Townsville Crocodiles. In 2007 he was selected with the 54th overall pick in the 2007 NBA draft by the Houston Rockets, but only played three games at the Summer League. Newly continued his career in Greece with Panionios, averaging 10 points and 3.2 rebounds in 38 games. In 2008 he moved to Panellinios, where he averaged 10.6 points and 4.3 rebounds per game in 28 games. After Greece Newley moved to Turkey for Beşiktaş, then Lithuania for Lietuvos Rytas, Spain for Valencia and Gran Canaria, and back in Australia for Sydney Kings. With Sydney Kings Newley averaged 17.5 points and 5 rebounds in 23 games.

AEK and Jawad Williams part ways

AEK and Jawad Williams part ways. The 34 years old American forward signed with AEK in the previous summer, and played 16 games with AEK for Basket League Greece, averaging 8.94 points and 3 rebounds per game. At his best game Williams scored 19 points against Korivos Amaliadas for the ninth day. Williams continues his career in Italy with Reggio Emilia.

Promitheas Patron to replace Faros Keratsiniou in Basket League Greece


Promitheas Patron will play in Basket League Greece 2016-2017, replacing the team of Faros Keratsiniou. Faros Keratsiniou won the promotion to the Basket League Greece after an impressive season in A2 League 2015-2016, and a participation in the Greek Cup Final. Unfortunately the team of Faros will not participate in the forthcoming season of Basket League, since the team cannot raise its budget. Promitheas Patron finished in the third place of A2 League 2015-2016 and after the withdrawal of Faros became the second team to follow Kymi in the Basket League.

Rethymno signed Gary Talton

Rethymno signed Gary Talton. The 26 years old American guard is 1.86 meters high and graduated from UIC University of Illinois at Chicago, where he played for the UIC Flames. Talton started his career with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers in the NBA D-League. He has also played for the Fort Wayne, the Delaware 87ers and the Grand Rapids Drive. In the last season he averaged 8.9 points and 4.1 assists per game in 30 games with the Grand Rapids Drive.

Panathinaikos signed Mike James

Panathinaikos signed Mike James! The 26 years old American guard penned an one year contract, with an NBA opt out clause valid until August 5th. James played for Kolossos Rodou in 2014, and finished the season in Spain for Laboral Kutxa, where he continued for another season, helping his team to reach the Euroleague Final Four with his performances.

Olympiacos signed Khem Birch

Olympiacos signed Khem Xavier Birch. The 23 years old Canadian graduated from UNLV (University of Nevada, Las Vegas), and he went undrafted in the 2014 NBA Draft. Birch started his professional career in NBA D-League with Sioux Falls Skyforce and in the next year he moved to Turkey for Uşak Sportif, where he averaged 10.5 points and 9.1 rebounds per game, in 32 games played in the Turkish Super League. Birch penned a two years, €1.1 million euros net income contract with the Greek Champions.

Milan Milošević renews with AEK. The 30 years old Bosnian forward renewed his contract and will remain with the club for a third season, as he renewed his first contract a year ago.
