AEK sign Dimitris Mavroeidis

AEK sign Dimitris Mavroeidis. The 31 years old Greek center penned an one year contract with AEK. Mavroeidis joined AEK in November 2015 and played the whole season with the club. The Greek center was not included in the new season's scheduling by coach Zdovc but since AEK and Mavrokefalidis parted ways the club decided to continue with Mavroeidis.

AEK and Malik Hairston parted ways

AEK and Malik Hairston parted ways. The 29 years old guard failed his medical tests, according to sources from the team, and Jurij Zdovc does not include him in the team roster for the new season. Hairston joined AEK in January 2015 and renewed his contract for one more year in July 2015.

Giorgos Dedas retires and joins AEK technical crew

Giorgos Dedas retires and joins AEK technical crew. The 36 years old Greek forward announced that he retires from professional basketball and will start his coaching career with AEK and coach Jurij Zdovc. Coach started his career with MENT and had also played for Iraklis, Breogan Lugo, Beirasar Rosalia, Caceres, PAOK and Rethymno. In Iraklis Dedas had worked with coach Zdovc, who has also worked with George's brother Stefanos.

Stefanos Dedas is Gaziantep's new head coach

Stefanos Dedas is Gaziantep's new head coach. The Greek coach was the assistant of Jure Zdovc, but the Slovenian coach left Gaziantep for AEK and Dedas did not follow him since he had an offer from Gaziantep to become the head coach.

AEK agreed terms with Jurij Zdovc

AEK agreed terms with Jurij (Jure) Zdovc. The 49 years old Slovenian is the new coach of AEK, replacing Dragan Sakota. Zdovc signed a 2.5 years contract (1.5 + 1) until the summer of 2018.
Zdovc has played for Iraklis and Panionios in Greece, and was the coach of Iraklis in 2005-2006 season.

As a player he has won one Euroleague, two French Championships, two Slovenian Championships, three Slovenian Cups.
As a coach he has won one Croatian and three Slovenian Cups, and one Slovenian and one Bosnian Championships. In 2012 he was named coach of the year for the Eurocup with Spartak St. Petersburg. Before AEK Zdovc was the head coach of Gaziantep in Turkey, with Stefanos Dedas being his assistant coach. Dedas did not follow Zdovc in AEK, as he is now the head coach of Gaziantep.
