Aleksandar Vezenkov named MVP of Basket League Greece 2014-2015

Aleksandar Vezenkov named MVP of Basket League Greece 2014-2015. After 11 years since Nestoras Kommatos was the top scorer of the League 2003-2004, a player of Aris finished first in scoring points and this was not the only record by Vezenkov. With 469 points in the season, Vezenkov had the best scoring record of the last seven years. He also finished second in rebounds (201), and first in ranking (553). After being named best young player of the League 2013-2014 and now MVP of the League 2014-2015, Vezenkov will continue in Spain for Barcelona.

Vezenkov declared for the NBA Draft 2015

Bulgarian-Cypriot Aleksandar Vezenkov has declared for the NBA Draft 2015. Vezenkov is the leader of Aris BC and first in points and raking, and second in rebounds in the Basket League Greece 2014-2015. In 23 games he averaged 18.35 points and 7.9 rebounds in 32 minutes per game. He was named Best Young Player of Basket League Greece 2013-2014 and he is member of the Bulgarian National Basketball Team.

Aris and Nikos Gikas part ways

Aris and Nikos Gikas part ways. The 24 years old guard moved to Aris in the summer of 2013 after being named the top scorer of A2 division with Filathlitikos. In the previous season Aris had a ban on international transfers so the team was based on Greek players like Gikas but this season Gikas has a less important role in the team and asked to leave the club.

Aris and Sotiris Manolopoulos part ways. Manolopoulos had only played couple minutes in four games and wanted a team that will offer him a more important role and more game time.

Ogo Adegboye renews with Aris for season

Ogo Adegboye signed an one month contract to replace the injured Torey Thomas but his performance led Aris team to renew his contract for the whole season. In four games with Aris Adegboye averages 11.25 points, 1.75 rebounds and 1 steal.

Aris signed Ogo Adegboye. Adegboye played for Nea Kifisia in the previous season and averaged 4 points and 0.9 assists per game. The British guard will replace Torey Thomas who is injured, so his contract is for one month.

Aris signed Drew Naymick

Aris signed Drew Naymick. The 29 years old guard played for North Muskegon high school and Michigan State University. Naymick then moved to Poland for Kotwica Kołobrzeg where he was named defensive player of the year. Then he played for Cáceres Ciudad del Baloncesto in Spain and after failing to play with Indiana Pacers or Los Angeles Lakers he played for Bakersfield Jam of the NBA Development League. He also played for one season in Czech Republic for ČEZ Nymburk.

Aris signed Muhamed Pašalić

Aris signed Muhamed Pašalić who returns to Thessaloniki after a year in France for Champagne Chalons-Reims. The Bosnian started his career in KK Bosna where he played for four years. Then he moved to Greece and played a year for Kavala and a year for Aris BC. He is a member of the Bosnian national team.

Aris signed Torey Thomas

Aris signed Torey Thomas. Thomas graduated from Holy Cross where he played for three years in the NCAA with Holy Cross Crusaders. In the previous season the combo guard played in France for Cholet Basket and has also played in Sweden for Akropol BBK, in Netherlands for Hanzevast Capitals and Matrixx Magixx, in Poland for Turów Zgorzelec, in Russia for Spartak Primorye, in Dominican Republic for Metros de Santiago, in Serbia for Partizan, in Italy for Scavolini Pesaro, in Turkey for Aliağa Petkim and again France for Le Mans Sarthe.

Aris signed Giannis Karathanasis

Aris signed Giannis Karathanasis. The 23 years old forward started his career in Asteria Academy. In 2008 he moved to Olympiacos but played on load for Mantoulidis. In 2010 he played for Panellinios and a year after he moved to Kavala BC where he worked with coach Dimitris Priftis.

Aris signed Sotiris Manolopoulos

Aris signed Sotiris Manolopoulos. The Greek forward in the previous season played for Ikaros Chalkidas and averaged 5.1 points and 2 rebounds per game. Before Ikaros Chalkidas Manolopoulos played for Kavala BC, Peristeri BC, two years for Kolossos Rodou, AEL and PAOK in Greece. Manolopoulos has also played in Spain for Mallorca, Palencia Baloncesto and Gestiberica Ciudad de Vigo.

Aris signed Vasilis Simtsak

Aris signed Vasilis Simtsak. The 33 years old Greek center had previously played for Aris rival PAOK but has also worked with coach Dimitris Priftis in Kavala and Ikaros Kallitheas. Simtsak played for Panionios in the previous season averaging 3.7 points and 3.9 rebounds per game.

Aris signed LeMarcus Reed

Aris signed LeMarcus Reed. The 25 years old American played two years with Texas Arlington in NCAA averaging 17.9 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game in his last season. Reed then moved to Sweden for LF Basket Luleå and Belgium for Antwerp. In the previous season Reed played in Cyprus for Etha Engomis where he averaged 13.9 points, 6.9 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.1 steals per game.
