Olympiacos defeats Ilisiakos for Basketball League

Ilisiakos hosted and lost by Olympiacos by 57-78. Olympiacos started the game after two consecutive wins so the first quarter finished with a clear lead of 11 points, 12-23. Ilisiakos balanced the game at second quarter and the half time ended with 25-36. Second half started with a counter attack from Ilisiakos and the difference at the end of third quarter was 7 points, 44-51. In the last quarter Olympiacos managed to keep the difference above 10 points. Olympiacos scored 10 three pointers and left no chances nor hope to Ilisiakos. Final result 57-78. Nikos Chatzis tried with 16 points but was trying alone. For Olympiacos Matt Lojeski scored 21 points, collected 8 rebounds and made just 2 turnovers. Olympiacos wins Unicaja Malaga for Euroleague premiere

Olympiacos Piraeus, the Euroleague back to back champions, hosted and defeated Unicaja Malaga for the first day of Euroleague 2013-2014. Starting five for Olympiacos Spanoulis, Perperoglou, Simmons, Printezis, Mantzaris. Starting five for Unicaja Malaga Suarez, Granger, Dragic, Hettsheimeir, Caner-Medley. Giorgos Printezis scored the first points of the Greek team. Jayson Granger started the game with an unsportsmanlike foul on Vasilis Spanoulis. Unicaja Malaga ran a 8-0 score and from 6-6 led the game to 6-14. Dragic and Hettsheimeir had a good first quarter but then the second disappeared. Sloukas and Spanoulis with three pointers finished the first quarter with score 18-22. Unicaja Malaga was leading the score for 30 minutes but when the fourth quarter started Olympiacos had a burst and in the end won the game by 8 points, 69-61. Olympiacos wins Ilisiakos for Greek cup quarterfinals

Olympiacos played its first official game in Greece, after two victories for the Intercontinental Cup in Brazil. Ilisiakos have eliminated Agia Paraskevi, Ikaros Chalkidas and Apollon Patras for the Greek Cup.Vassilis Spanoulis missed the last training before the game due to a flu and wasn't included in the 12 players for Olympiacos in this match. Besides Spanoulis, Mavroeidis, Begić, Law and Christodoulou were not available for Olympiacos in this game. For Ilisiakos Chatzis and DJ Stephens were not available, which was a great disadvantage for the team. The game started with a delay since the General Secretary of Sports have not allowed spectators in the pitch, although Ilisiakos has only allowed season card holders to enter. Starting five for Olympiacos were Mantzaris, Perperoglou, Lojeski, Petway and Dunston. Petway scored the first points of Olympiacos in Greece for the new season. Dunston and Petway dominated the court in the first quarter with impressive dunks who contributed to the score (12-33) and the show. Ilisiakos seemed unable to follow the score without Chatzis and Stephens, so Olympiacos' coach gave the chance to young players like Agravanis to play. First half ended with 29-47. Olympiacos tried a lot of young players like Katsivelis and Papapetrou in the third quarter but the difference remained around 20 points.
