Maroussi BC Signed Jordan King

Maroussi G.S. 1896 BC is delighted to announce the acquisition of American playmaker Jordan King for the next two years. King, coming off an impressive first professional season in Europe, is set to bolster Maroussi's backcourt with his versatile and scoring-oriented game.
Last season, King showcased his talent with HLA Alicante in Spain's Primera FEB, leaving a strong impression. In 34 games, playing an average of 28.5 minutes, he posted remarkable stats: 13.7 points (shooting 38.7% from three-point range), 2.9 assists, and 1.9 rebounds per game. He is the third foreign player for Maroussi, joining Jacorey Williams and Cameron Reynolds.

Player Biography


Jordan King was born on March 2, 2001, in Albany, New York, and stands at 1.83m (6'0"). He attended Christian Brothers Academy, where as a senior, he averaged over 24 points per game.

His collegiate journey began at Siena College. As a freshman, he played in 30 games, averaging 4.7 points. In his second year, his scoring jumped to 12.2 points per game.

On June 9, 2021, King transferred to East Tennessee State University to play for the East Tennessee State Buccaneers. In his first season with the Buccaneers, he averaged 14.6 points per game, boasting an impressive 42.9% shooting from beyond the arc. The following season, in January 2023, he set a career-high with an incredible 42 points in a game against Citadel. He concluded that season averaging 15.6 points and 3.6 rebounds per game.

In April 2023, King transferred once more, this time to Richmond University to play for the Richmond Spiders in NCAA Division I. In his debut for Richmond, King immediately made an impact by scoring 34 points. He graduated in 2024, earning the prestigious Atlantic 10 Player of the Year award.

Following his successful college career, King made his professional debut in the 2024-25 season with HLA Alicante in Spain, where he continued to demonstrate his scoring prowess and all-around game.

Cameron Reynolds Joins Maroussi

Maroussi has completed its foreign roster for the upcoming season by signing Cameron Reynolds. The American forward, who played for Promitheas last season, participated in all 30 games of the league, averaging 10.43 points, 3.53 rebounds, and 0.83 assists. With this signing, Maroussi completes its foreign player moves, adding Reynolds to a roster that includes Raduljica, Fridriksson, Stove, Sanogo, Langevine, and Nagl.

Maroussi Extends Contract with Orfeas Stasinos

Maroussi BC has announced the extension of Orfeas Stasinos' contract for another two years. Orfeas Stasinos' journey with Maroussi is a tale of dedication and passion. Born on September 5, 1999, Stasinos began his basketball career in the youth ranks of Maroussi. He made his debut for the first team while still a member of the youth squad in 2014, at a time when the club was competing in the Greek B’ Ethniki.

Brief Departure and Unwavering Commitment


In the 2019-2020 season, Stasinos had a brief stint with Ifaistos Limnou in the Greek Basket League. However, his time away from Maroussi was short-lived. Stasinos made a resolute promise upon his return: "I will only play in A1 with Maroussi." This commitment came to fruition when Maroussi won the Elite League title in 2023, securing promotion to the Greek Basket League (A1) for the 2023-2024 season. Stasinos played a pivotal role in this achievement as the team captain and a key contributor.

Jay Nagle Joins Maroussi BC

Maroussi BC has bolstered its roster ahead of the upcoming season by securing the services of American small forward Jay Nagle. The 24-year-old has signed a three-year contract with the club, marking him as the fifth new international player to join this summer.

"GS Amarousiou 1896 announces the acquisition of American small forward Jay Nagle, who has signed a three-year contract. He becomes the fifth new international player to join our team this summer, following Friðriksson, Stove, Sanogo, and Langevine.

Maroussi is the second professional stop for Nagle, who previously played for Orbi in Georgia, finishing in 5th place in the Georgian Superleague last season. He impressed with averages of 17.7 points (59.2% 2-pointers, 43.9% 3-pointers, 82.1% free throws), 7.8 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 1.3 blocks, and 1.4 steals per game across 24 appearances."

Jay Nagle was born on April 10, 2000, in Vacaville, California, standing at a height of 2.06 meters (6 feet 9 inches). Continuing a family tradition, his father, John Nagle, is a basketball coach. Nagle attended UCSB (University of California, Santa Barbara) before completing his collegiate career at Idaho State, where he earned a degree in Sports Administration. Apart from his basketball skills, he was noted for his academic achievements and his prowess in finger painting.

During his senior year, Nagle averaged 5 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game over 25 appearances, starting in 23 games. His professional debut confirmed his versatility, particularly during his tenure with Orbi last season, where he showcased high-level performances across all major statistical categories.

Nagle's notable achievements included scoring over 20 points in nine games, with a season-high of 29 points against Margveti on February 11, 2024, in a 93-85 victory. Maroussi Signs Young Talent Giannis Karakostas

Maroussi has signed the "Best Young Player" of the Elite League 2023-2024 for the next four years. The 20-year-old point guard Giannis Karakostas will make his debut in the Basket League with the team from the northern suburbs of Athens.

The announcement from Maroussi:

"The G.S. Amarousiou 1896 announces the acquisition of international point guard Giannis Karakostas for the next four years. In the 2023-24 season, as a player of Papagou BC, he was named 'Best Young Player' in the Elite League, with an average of 13.9 points (85.9% free throws, 52.3% two-pointers, and 36.7% three-pointers), 4.7 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.2 steals in 31 minutes per game."

Giannis Karakostas Bio and Career

Giannis Karakostas comes from a basketball family, with his father Fotis being a coach and his brother Nikos a basketball player. He was born on February 4, 2004, stands 1.90 meters tall, and plays as a guard. He began his basketball journey with GAO Koukouvaunon. In the 2019-20 season, he played for Panathinaikos, contributing to winning the Greek U16 Championship.

On July 27, 2022, he was acquired by Lavrio and, using a "dual license," also played for Papagou to gain experience. With Lavrio, he recorded 3 appearances in the Basket League in the 2022-23 season, scoring 5 points in 8 minutes in a game against Kolossos (April 9, 2023).

He continued with Papagou, where he stood out and proved that he is ready for the next step in his career. He is currently a member of the national teams (now with the U20 team) and a student at the Athens School of Dentistry.

Karakostas finished the last season with Papagou, playing 34 games and averaging 31 minutes per game. He scored a total of 473 points, with an impressive shooting performance: 52.3% on two-pointers, 36.7% on three-pointers, and 85.9% from the free-throw line. Doxa Lefkadas sign Justin Robinson. The 28 years old British guard will continue to play professional basketball in Greece with the newly promoted team of Lefkada. Robinson started his professional career with Marousi and has also played for Kolossos Rodou and Trikala. Panathinaikos sign Patrick Sean "Pat" Calathes. The 31 years old Greek American penned an one year contract and returns to the Greens after 2011-2012 season. Calathes graduated from Saint Joseph and started his professional career in Greece with Marousi, after he went undrafted in 2008 NBA Draft. After a year in Marousi he moved to Kolossos Rodou and then to Panathinaikos. In 2012 Calathes moved to Israel for Maccabi Haifa and in 2013 he moved to Astana where he played in the last three seasons. In his last season with Astana Calathes averaged 12.5 points, 8.2 rebounds and 2.2 asissts per game.

Kolossos Rodou signed Justin Robinson. The 27 years old British guard began his professional career in Greece with Maroussi BC and has also played in Cyprus, Ukraine, Sweden and Hungary. With his last team Apollon Limassol he averaged 14.3 points, 3.6 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game. Robinson is a member of the Great Britain national basketball team.

Ikaros Chalkidas signed Giannis Demertzis. The 31 years old Greek play maker will try to help Ikaros in the last six games of the Greek Basket League. Demertzis started his professional career with Mantoulidis and then played for PAOK, Iraklis, Maroussi and Kavala in Greece. This season Demertzis was playing in Cyrpus for Keravnos.

Olympiacos has agreed terms with the promising young forward Dimitris Agravanis. Agravanis is 18 years old and has already played two years for Maroussi BC and last year for Panionios BC. Agravanis is member of all Greek young men national teams and ranks 22nd in top international draft prospects of 1994 born players.
