Soulis Markopoulos is Aris new head coach

Soulis Markopoulos is Aris new head coach. The 70-year-old Greek will coach Aris for the fourth time in his career almost 20 years after he last worked with the club.Markopoulos has worked as the head coach of all major basketball teams from Thessaloniki, PAOK, Aris, Iraklis, Makedonikos, and for AEK and Maroussi. He counts 702 games and 339 wins in the top tier league of Greece, first in games and third in wins, behind Ioannidis and Obradovic.

PAOK hosted and beat Korivos Amaliadas for Basket League fourth day. It was the first game of the Basket League Greece that a father and a son, Soulis and Charis Markopoulos, played against each other as head coaches of the two opponents. The faher had previously won the son in a friendly game for the Patras Cup and he repeated the same for the Basket League. For the winners Apollon Tsochlas had 17 points, Giorgos Dedas had 16 points and Julian Vaughn had 11 points. For Korivos Amaliadas Rob Lowery had 18 points, Dwayne Davis had 14 points and Sasa Vasiljevic had 12 points.
