Korivos Amaliadas beat Apollon Patras for Basket League twenty fourth day

Korivos Amaliadas hosted and beat Apollon Patras for Basket League Greece 2014-2015 twenty fourth day. Like in the first round the game had an extra time and again the home team won in the end. Apollon wanted a victory to hope for the play offs but Korivos beat it and covered the 5 points difference of the first round defeat. For the winners Guille Rubio made a double double with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Sasa Vasiljevic had 21 points, Tim Bowers had 10 points (2/6 ft) and 5 rebounds, Josh Magette had 5 points, 5 assists and 6 fouls drawn. For Apollon Brandon Penn had 14 points, Galloway had 10 points and 7 assists, Toarlyn Fitzpatrick had 10 points, 8 rebounds and 3 blocks, Gaios Skordilis had 13 points and 7 rebounds, Alex Sigounas collected 9 rebounds.

Korivos Amaliadas beat Panelefsiniakos for Basket League twenty third day

Korivos Amaliadas beat Panelefsiniakos for Basket League Greece 2014-2015 twenty third day. With this victory Korivos avoided relegation in its first year in the League and Panelefsiniakos will get relegated. Panelefsiniakos was leading the score for more than 37 minutes but in the end Korivos stole the victory with a shot by Josh Magette. Korivos had 3/16 three pointers but Panelefsiniakos collected only 23 rebounds, and only 7 offensive rebounds. For Panelefsiniakos Nemanja Mitrovic had 18 points (5/5 3p) and Nikola Markovic had 16 points (5/12 2p). Kurt Looby collected 4 offensive rebounds. For the winners Tim Bowers had 12 points and 6 assists, Guille Rubio had 14 points, Kirk Donnavan had 11 points and 2 blocks, Nikos Angelopoulos collected 7 rebounds.

Panathinaikos beat Korivos Amaliadas for Basket League twenty first day

Panathinaikos hosted and beat Korivos Amaliadas for Basket League Greece 2014-2015 twenty first day. Easy victory for Panathinaikos with another record for Dimitris Diamantidis. The captain became the all time best in rebounds in the professional league of Greece, surpassing his former teammate Tsartsaris. Lountzis, Bochoridis, Diamantakos and Charalampopoulos gained more experience. Gist was the top scorer of Panathinaikos with 13 points. Diamantakos collected 7 rebounds, Diamantidis served 4 assists. For Korivos Rawle Marshall had 13 points, Andreas Kanonidis had 12 points, Sasa Vasiljevic served 6 assists, Josh Magette served 6 assists and made 3 steals. Guille Rubio and Giorgos Galliotos collected 7 rebounds each. Tim Bowers and Nikos Pappas made 4 turnovers each.

Aris beat Korivos Amaliadas for Basket League nineteenth day

Aris hosted and beat Korivos Amaliadas for Basket League nineteenth day. Korivos Amaliadas started with Turner scoring and took an early score lead. Aris balanced the game in the second quarter. By the half time Aleksandar Vezenkov had 12 points and 6 rebounds for Aris, and Bowers had 11 points and 4 rebounds for the visitors. Korivos had 1/7 three pointers and 11/15 free throws in the first half. In the second half Aris took the lead of the game and Korivos could not compete. The team of Amaliada continues without a road victory and Aris counted its eight victory in nine games. For the winners Aleksander Vezenkov finished the game with 25 points (2/3 2p, 5/6 3p, 6/6 ft), 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Kostas Charisis scored 4 points and made 5 blocks! Torey Thomas had 7 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. All players of Aris played and scored, except Giannis Karathanasis who played only for two minutes. For Korivos Amaliadas Tim Bowers had 17 points and 7 rebounds, Guille Rubio had 10 points, Josh Magette served 6 assists. Korivos had 4/22 three pointers and 13/20 free throws.

Rethymno Aegean beat Korivos Amaliadas for Basket League sixteenth day

Rethymno Aegean hosted and beat Korivos Amaliadas for Basket League Greece 2014-2015 sixteenth day. Korivos surprised Rethymno in the first quarter with a 8-22 partial score but the home team was lowering the difference steadily until the end. In the extra time Rethymno with 20-8 partial score did not let Korivos hope. For the winners Mouhammad Faye made a double double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Roeland Schaftenaar had 14 points and 8 rebounds, Dejan Kravic had 14 points, Chaisson Allen had 13 points and Fanis Koumpouras had 10 points and 5 assists. For Korivos Josh Magette had a complete performance with 15 points, 8 fouls drawn, 7 assists and 6 rebounds. Nikos Angelopoulos with 17 points and 8 rebounds did his best and Rawie Marshall had 9 points and 9 rebounds. Korivos believed it could make a road victory after seven defeats but in the over time Rethymno dominated the game.

Korivos Amaliadas beat Aries Trikala in Amaliada for Basket League 2014-2015 fifteenth day. Korivos took an early lead by 25-7 in the first quarter and did not face problems to beat Aries Trikala. For the winners Rawle Marshall had 17 points and 7 rebounds. Guille Rubio had 17 points but also 10 rebounds and made a double double. Dwayne Davis also made a double double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Josh Magette had 7 points and 7 assists. For Aries Trikala Slaven Cupkovic had 21 points and 6 rebounds. Besides Cupkovic only Alex Harris had 15 points and the rest players had less than 5 points. Justin Ingram had 7 assists but also had 0/7 field goals and 1/7 three pointers.

Apollon Patras hosted and beat Korivos Amaliadas for Basket League eleventh day. Korivos started with 0/10 shots and Apollon Patras was leading the score, 11-0. Gaios Skordilis finished the first quarter with 6 points and 8 rebounds. Apollon Patras scored only 8 points in the second quarter and Korivos managed to finish the first half only 7 points behind in score. Dwayne Davis and Brandon Penn had 10 points each and Gaios Skordilis had 12 rebounds in the first half. Korivos made its counter attack in the last quarter with partial score 14-24 and the normal time finished with the two teams having scored 65 points each. In the extra time Apollon Patras won the game and remain undefeated in its home but Korivos returned from a game that was losing 21-9 in the first quarter. Olympiacos beat Korivos Amaliadas for Basket League ninth day

Olympiacos hosted and beat Korivos Amaliadas for Basket League ninth day. This was the first game of Korivos Amalidas against Olympiacos and the visitors troubled the home team for the whole game. The six points lead of the first quarter became three points in the half time and have been eliminated by the third quarter. In the 34th minute the score was 64-64 and Korivos was still in the game but have already made 5 team fouls while Olympiacos had only two. Then Aggelopoulos was charged with a unsportsman-like foul and Olympiacos made a 6-0 run and created a safe difference. With six consecutive points by Vasilis Spanoulis Olympiacos was leading the score by 8 points, with only 3 minutes remaining. Korivos tried to steal the victory and with a three pointers by Aggelopoulos and two free throws by Magette made the score 74-71 with two minutes remaining. Vangelis Mantzaris scored, Vasiljevic missed a three pointer, Petway missed two shots and Spanoulis one and Rubio made the score 76-73. 34 seconds before the end Lafayette missed a three pointer but Petway collected the offensive rebound and Davis committed a foul. Vasilis Spanoulis missed two free throws but Vangelis Mantzaris with a three pointer made the score 79-73, which was the final score since both Vasiljevic and Davis failed to score. Victory for Olympiacos but a tough one against the very competitive Korivos Amaliadas. For Olympiacos Spanoulis had 21 points and 6 assists, Brent Petway had 9 points and 12 rebounds, Vangelis Mantzaris had 9 points and 7 assists. For Korivos Amaliadas Dwayne Davis had 22 points, Nikos Angelopolos and Guille Rubio had 10 points each, Josh Magette had 8 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists, Giorgos Galiotos had 2 points and 10 rebounds. In a great game Olympiacos finished the game with 7 team turnovers while Korivos Amaliadas with 8 team turnovers.

Panathinaikos beat Korivos Amaliadas for Basket League eighth day. Korivos scored first with Josh Magette but Panathinaikos made a 7-0 run and took early the lead of the game. In the first quarter James Gist had 0/3 field goals but also had 5 rebounds. Panathinaikos starter the second quarter like the first, with a 6-0 run and broadened the difference to 18 points. Darrius Garrett and Julian Wright finished first half with 10 points each, while Guille Rubio and James Gist had 5 rebounds each. Korivos made 9 turnovers in the first half while Panathinaikos had 15 assists and Diamantidis made 5 of them. Korivos improved in the third quarter and allowed Panathinaikos to score only 10 points, lowering the difference to one digit score. In the last quarter Jānis Blūms with his crucial three pointers did not let the home team hope for the victory. For Panathinaikos Blūms had 16 points with 4/7 three pointers, Julian Wright had 12 points and 9 rebounds, James Gist collected 10 rebounds and Dimitris Diamantidis served 8 assists. Korivos Amaliadas beat KAOD for Basket League fifth day

Korivos Amaliadas hosted and beat KAOD for Basket League fifth day. KAOD was leading the score for three quarters but lost in the end by Korivos in Amaliada. Korivos defense was tight in the last quarter and KAOD scored only 7 points. In the last minute Sasa Vasiljevic with a three pointer gave his team a great victory. For the winners Rob Lowery had 17 points and Josh Magette had 5 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Guille Rubio in his debut had 16 points and 6 rebounds, great addition for Korivos. For KAOD Rod Odom had 23 points and 9 rebounds, Linos Chrysikopoulos had 10 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and Eric Atkins had 7 points and 5 assists. In his debut Obie Trotter had 5 points, 1 rebound and 1 assist.

For Rethymno Aegean Roeland Schaftenaar scored 15 points, Trevis Simpson scored 14 points, Fanis Koumpouras served 8 assists, Mouhammad Faye scored 15 points and collected 9 rebounds, Dejan Kravic scored 11 points and collected 8 rebounds. Korivos Amaliadas beat AEK for Basket League first day

Korivos Amaliadas hosted and defeated AEK for Basket League first day. It was the game between the two newly promoted teams from A2 League but Korivos Amaliadas was playing home and AEK was most experienced team in A1 League. For Korivos Amaliadas, who celebrated its first victory in the Basket League, Rob Lowery scored 18 points, Darrius Garett had 9 points and 8 rebounds, Josh Maggete 10 points and 5 assists. Milan Milošević who recently signed with AEK started the new season with a double double with 16 points and 11 rebounds, also Ziris Sarikopoulos made a double double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Apollon Patras beat Korivos Amaladas for Greek Cup

Apollon Patras hosted and beat Korivos Amaladas for Greek Cup second round third day. Apollon started the game with a 7-0 run but Korivos made its own 6-18 run and finish the first quarter leading the score. Early in the second quarter Apollon got back the lead and kept it until the end. Korivos tried to counter attack in the last quarter and lowered the difference to three points, 52-49, but the home team made a 5-0 run and secured the victory. Apollon Patras had 1/12 three pointers in the first half in a tight game which was the first home game for the team. Apollon Patras had Brandon Penn, Toarlyn Fitzpatrick, Gaios Skordilis and Muhammad El-Amin with two digits points scored while for Korivos Amaliadas Rob Lowery scored 23 points, Josh Magette 9 points and Darrius Garrett 8 points.

Korivos Amaliadas signed Josh Magette

Korivos Amaliadas signed Josh Magette, who became the first American player of the newly promoted Korivos Amaliadas. Magette played for Alabama-Huntsville in the NCAA where he led his team to three Gulf South Conference championships. In his rookie season Magette played in Netherlands for Landstede Basketball and then returned to USA for Los Angeles D-Fenders in the NBA Development League where he averaged 10.3 points, 6.9 assists and 3.5 rebounds per game. He participated in the NBA Summer League twice, in 2012 with Memphis Grizzlies and 2014 with the Orlando Magic.
