Panathinaikos beat Panelfsiniakos for Basket League twenty fifth day

Panathinaikos hosted and beat Panelfsiniakos for Basket League twenty fifth day. Panathinaikos first game with Manolopoulos as head coach was different. Against the already relegated Panelefsiniakos Manolopoulos used players that did not have much time until now. Janis Blums was the top scorer with 17 points, young Papagiannis scored 6 points and collected 9 rebounds, Charalampopoulos served 5 assists, Fotsis collected 10 rebounds and DeMarcus Nelson scored 12 points. For Panelefsiniakos Kurt Looby collected 18 rebounds, but missed the double double for one point. Stelios Ioannou had 5 points and 6 rebounds. Nikos Pappas was injured while trying to make a dunk, and went to hospital for stitches.

Panathinaikos beat Aris for Basket League tenth day

Panathinaikos hosted and beat Aris for Basket League tenth day. Panathinaikos played without Dimitris Diamantidis and Aris took advantage of it and was leading the score by 14-19 in the first quarter. Nikos Pappas entered the court and with a 10-0 run gave his team the scoring lead. Panathinaikos was keeping the lead from 15 points, 68-53, to 5 points, 74-69, and won the game. For Panathinaikos Nikos Pappas had 23 points, Jānis Blūms had 14 points, Vlantimir Giankovits had 9 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Esteban Batista made another double double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. For Aris Aleksandar Vezenkov had 19 points and 6 rebounds, Muhamed Pašalić had 12 points and 6 assists, LeMarcus Reed had 13 points and 8 rebounds, Drew Naymick had 5 points and 9 rebounds.

Armani Milano hosted and beat Panathinaikos for Euroleague. Panathinaikos made 21 turnovers and lost another away game, counting only one road victory in Euroleague 2014-2015. Panathinaikos had the chance to win the game 0.6 seconds before the end but Diamantidis missed a free throw. For the winners Daniel Hackett had 21 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists. For Panathinaikos Diamantidis had 12 points and 11 assists, James Gist had 8 points and 10 rebounds and Janis Blums had 13 points with 4/6 three pointers. AJ Slaughter had 17 points but also made 5 turnovers.

Panathinaikos beat Korivos Amaliadas for Basket League eighth day

Panathinaikos beat Korivos Amaliadas for Basket League eighth day. Korivos scored first with Josh Magette but Panathinaikos made a 7-0 run and took early the lead of the game. In the first quarter James Gist had 0/3 field goals but also had 5 rebounds. Panathinaikos starter the second quarter like the first, with a 6-0 run and broadened the difference to 18 points. Darrius Garrett and Julian Wright finished first half with 10 points each, while Guille Rubio and James Gist had 5 rebounds each. Korivos made 9 turnovers in the first half while Panathinaikos had 15 assists and Diamantidis made 5 of them. Korivos improved in the third quarter and allowed Panathinaikos to score only 10 points, lowering the difference to one digit score. In the last quarter Jānis Blūms with his crucial three pointers did not let the home team hope for the victory. For Panathinaikos Blūms had 16 points with 4/7 three pointers, Julian Wright had 12 points and 9 rebounds, James Gist collected 10 rebounds and Dimitris Diamantidis served 8 assists. Panathinaikos renews Jānis Blūms contract for two years

Panathinaikos signed Jānis Blūms with a 1+1 months contract in order to replace the injured DeMarcus Nelson but the Lithuanian had good games and the Greek champions announced today the renewal of his contract for two years. The contract offers Panathinaikos a renewal option on 2015 summer..

Panathinaikos beat Aries Trikala for Basket League fourth day

Panathinaikos beat Aries Trikala in Trikala for Basket League fourth day. Panathinaikos took the score lead from the first quarter. In the second quarter Panathinaikos created a difference of 15 points, 23-38, but Trikala made a 13-0 run, 36-38 and managed to finish the quarter only six points behind, 42-48. Trikala had 2/11 three pointers in the first half. Steve Panos finished the first half with 11 points and Diamantidis with 12 and 3/6 three pointers. In the second half Trikala attacked and Panathinaikos was not that tight in defense so the home team approached to two points, 54-56. Blums and Fotsis with three pointers secured the game for Panathinaikos that made a 13-3 run and the difference went up to 18 points, 60-78. For Aries Trikala Steve Panos had 14 points, Christos Deligiannis had 11 points and 5 rebounds and Nate Bowie had 9 assists. Mario Matalon had 7 assists and 4 points and Slaven Čupković had 13 points. For Panathinaikos Dimitris Diamantidis had 18 points, 4 rebounds and 7 assists. Janis Blums had 12 points with 4/6 three pointers, Vlantimir Giankovits had 14 points, 6 assists and 5 rebounds, Vasilis Charalampopoulos had 7 points and 5 assists. Panathinaikos beat Turow Zgorzelec for Euroleague first day

Panathinaikos hosted and beat Turow Zgorzelec for Euroleague 2014-2015 first day. Panathinaikos is an experienced Euroleague team but this season started with fresh players. With Dimitris Diamantidis playing only for 15 minutes and scoring two points Panathinaikos would have faced problems in the previous years but now A.J. Slaughter and Nikos Pappas scored 16 points each and Esteban Batista, Jānis Blūms and Vlantimir Giankovits scored more than 10 points each. Julian Wright who debuted with Panathinaikos scored 4 points. For Turow Zgorzelec Mardy Collins, who had played many games against Panathinaikos in the previous season with Olympiacos, scored 23 points and Damian Kulig scored 17 points. Panathinaikos starts Euroleague 2014-2015 with a home victory.

Panathinaikos participated at Gomelsky Cup and finished second with one victory against Nizhny Novgorod and one defeat against CSKA Moscow. For Panathinaikos Mavrokefalidis, Bochoridis, Fotsis were not available due to injuries and Blums debuted for his new team.

Panathinaikos signed Jānis Blūms

Panathinaikos signed Jānis Blūms. The Latvian player signed a 1+1 months contract and he will replace the injured DeMarcus Nelson. Blūms is member of the Latvian national basketball team and currently its captain. Before Panathinaikos he played for Astana, Lietuvos Rytas, Bilbao, Napoli, Ventspils, Skonto, Anwil Włocławek and BK Brocēni.
