Giankovits started his career with Panionios in 2007, and has played for KK Mega Vizura in Serbia and Panathinaikos in Greece. He started this season in Spain with Valencia but will finish the season in Greece on loan to Aris.

Panathinaikos beat PAOK for Greek Basketball Cup 2014-2015 semi finals. Panathinaikos will play in the Greek Cup Final for eleventh consecutive year! The game was tight and PAOK equalized the score in the last minute but with four seconds remaining Panathinaikos managed to make the winning shot with Vlanto Giankovits. Giankovits scored a great buzzer beater and gave his team the ticket to the Cup Final. For the winners Giankovits and Gist scored 13 points each, Slaughter socred 12 points, Batista 11. Bayern Munich hosted and beat Panathinaikos for Euroleague. Panathinaikos started with a 6-0 in Bayern but the home team replied with a 9-0 and took the lead. Aries Trikala haven't any victory in the first two games and as coach Flevarakis said could only gain experiences from this match. Starting five for Aries Trikala were Granger, Mutakabbir, Perunicic, Kommatas and Deligiannis. Starting five for Panathinaikos were Pappas, Diamantidis, Mačiulis, Gist and Mavrokefalidis. Granger opened the score with a two pointer but Diamantidis scored a three pointer and Panathinaikos took the lead. Panathinaikos had 2/2 free throws, 2/2 two pointer and 2/2 three pointer in the first three minutes where the score were 3-13 and before Gist missing the first shot for Panathinaikos. James Gist had 4 steals in the first 5 minutes and Jeremy Granger 3 turnovers and 1 unsportsmanlike foul. Trikala scored 3 three pointers but Panathinaikos finished the first quarter ahead by 17, 12-29. Stephane Lasme was flawless in the first quarter. The second quarter started with a goal-foul from Georgakis and two three pointers from Matalon, so the difference dropped to 8, 21-29. Gist scored the first points for Panathinaikos 4 minutes after second quarter started. Two three pointers from Panathinaikos and the difference was back to 16, 21-37. Trikala improved in the second quarter and the half time finished with 11 points difference. Panathinaikos tightened its defense in the third quarter and the difference flew up to 39 points, 30-69. In the last two minutes Trikala scored 7 points in a row and the third quarter finished with 42-73. Trikala scored 3 three pointers in the final minute and the difference stopped at 20 points, final score 68-88. Argyris Pedoulakis gave time to Charalampopoulos, Shang Ping. Jeremy Granger and Nestoras Kommatos were the best players for Trikala, with Matalon adding 9 points from three pointers. For Panathinaikos all players available played, only Mavrokefalidis and Ping didn't score but four players finished the game with more than 10 points. Vlantimir Giankovits finished the game with double double, 17 points and 10 rebounds.

Panathinaikos smashes Panelefsiniakos for the second day of Basketball League Greece

Panathinaikos hosted and smashed Panelefsiniakos for the second day of the Greek Basketball League. First home game for the Greek champions and the debut of the first Chinese player in Greece, Shang Ping. Both teams started the season with a defeat and they were searching for their first victory. The history between the two teams were the two games of the previous season, where Panathinaikos had two victories 95-68 and 59-77. Panathinaikos starting five were Ukić, Diamantidis, Mačiulis, Gist and Mavrokefalidis. Panelefsiniakos starting five were Papamakarios, Avramidis, Jones, Fayer and Turner. Panathinaikos took the lead early in the first quarter, although its players had 2/9 three pointers. With Panathinaikos having 7 assists and Panelefsiniakos having 11 turnovers the first quarter finished 18-8. For Panelefsiniakos Papamakarios scored 4 points in the first quarter but also made two fouls. Panelefsiniakos made only three turnovers in the second quarter but finished the half time without any points from three pointers and just one from free throws. Mavrokefalidis had 4/4 shots and was the top scorer of the first half with 9 points. Panathinaikos played tight defense allowing Panelefsiniakos scoring just 21 points in first half. In offense Panathinaikos had poor statistics with 9/19 free throws and 3/15 three pointers. Second half was an offensive and defensive monologue for Panathinaikos. Vlantimir Giankovits was scoring and the team was defending. On 34th minute Shang Ping entered the court, becoming the first Chinese player that played and scored in Greek Basketball League. Final score 74-35, with Panathinaikos breaking its defensive allowance record in Greek Basketball League. Previous record was against Peristeri where the opponent team scored 41 points. Vlantimir Giankovits made a double double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Vlantimir Giankovits won't play at Eurobasket 2013

Andrea Trinchieri informed Vlantimir Giankovits that he will not continue with the Greek National Basketball Team for Eurobasket 2013. The young guard will join his new team Panathinaikos in the preparation.
