Kolossos Rodou and Nestoras Kommatos part ways

Kolossos Rodou and Nestoras Kommatos part ways. Kommatos started this season with Aries Trikala but released the veteran player in November. Kolossos Rodou announced that Nestoras Kommatos will not continue with the team due to personal problems.

Kolossos Rodou defeated Panelefsiniakos for Greek League 18th day

Kolossos Rodou defeated Panelefsiniakos for Greek Basket League 18th day. First half was balanced and the two teams were close in score. In the second half Kolossos Rodou made two runs with 11-0 and 12-2, which gave the team a clear lead and won the game. For Kolossos Rodou Christoforos Stefanidis was the top scorer with 17 points,6 rebounds and Taylor Smith had 15 points and 6 rebounds. Nestoras Kommatos added 7 points and 9 rebounds. For Panelefsiniakos Mouhammad Faye had 25 points, 6 rebounds and Rob Jones had 17 points and 8 rebounds.
Quarters' scores: 13-11, 28-25, 51-36, 67-57.

Kolossos Rodou lost by Panathinaikos for Greek League tenth day

Kolossos Rodou hosted Panathinaikos for Greek League tenth day. In the first quarter Panathinaikos had 4/9 three pointers and Kolossos 6/8 free throws. Kolossos had 6 turnovers and 6 fouls in the first ten minutes. Kolosos Rodou was better in the second quarter with Bambale Osby leading the game. Taylor Smith gave the lead to Kolossos but James Gist with a three pointer and a dunk finished the first half with Panathinaikos ahead in score. James Gist had 2/2 and Mike Bramos 3/3 three pointers in the first half. Third quarter was the quarter of Ramel Curry and Stephane Lasme against Bambale Osby. For Kolossos Rodou Nestoras Kommatos and Bambale Osby had a good game, each player scored 14 points and collected 5 rebounds. For Panathinaikos James Gist finished the game with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists.

Panionios defeated Kolossos Rodou for Greek League ninth day

Panionios hosted and defeated Kolossos Rodou for Greek League ninth day. Panionios was higher in the table from Kolossos Rodou but the team from Rhodos island wasn't an easy opponent. Panionios created a safe difference in the first and second quarter but Kolossos counter attacked and in the third quarter took the lead for a while. With succeeding in free throws in the last minutes Panionios took the victory and remained undefeated in his home. Errick McCollum didn't play much in the game so the scoring leader for Panionios was Marc Carter with 21 points and Christos Saloustros with 13 points. For Kolossos Rodou Nestoras Kommatos with 18 points and Papantoniou with 16 points were the main threat for Panionios' defense.
Quarters' scores: 24-18, 39-30, 57-49, 73-66.

Kolossos Rodou defeated Aries Trikala

Kolossos Rodou defeated Aries Trikala for Greek Basketball League sixth day. Nestoras Kommatos debuted for Kolossos Rodou after he was dismissed from Aries Trikala. Kolossos Rodou smashed Trikala in the first quarter, taking a lead of 18 points. Aries Trikala managed to balance the game in the second and third quarter, but the difference remained above 10 points. Four minutes before the end Aries Trikala managed to equalize the game, 67-67, with a goal-foul from Granger. In the next attack Chris Evans scored a three pointer and his team was ahead by 3 points for the first time, 67-70. Christoforos Stefanidis scored for Kolossos Rodou and his team won the game by four points, 76-72. Kolossos Rodou made its first victory in the league.

Panathinaikos defeated Aries Trikala for the third day of Greek Basketball League

Aries Trikala hosted Panathinaikos for the third day of the Greek Basketball League. Aries Trikala haven't any victory in the first two games and as coach Flevarakis said could only gain experiences from this match. Starting five for Aries Trikala were Granger, Mutakabbir, Perunicic, Kommatas and Deligiannis. Starting five for Panathinaikos were Pappas, Diamantidis, Mačiulis, Gist and Mavrokefalidis. Granger opened the score with a two pointer but Diamantidis scored a three pointer and Panathinaikos took the lead. Panathinaikos had 2/2 free throws, 2/2 two pointer and 2/2 three pointer in the first three minutes where the score were 3-13 and before Gist missing the first shot for Panathinaikos. James Gist had 4 steals in the first 5 minutes and Jeremy Granger 3 turnovers and 1 unsportsmanlike foul. Trikala scored 3 three pointers but Panathinaikos finished the first quarter ahead by 17, 12-29. Stephane Lasme was flawless in the first quarter. The second quarter started with a goal-foul from Georgakis and two three pointers from Matalon, so the difference dropped to 8, 21-29. Gist scored the first points for Panathinaikos 4 minutes after second quarter started. Two three pointers from Panathinaikos and the difference was back to 16, 21-37. Trikala improved in the second quarter and the half time finished with 11 points difference. Panathinaikos tightened its defense in the third quarter and the difference flew up to 39 points, 30-69. In the last two minutes Trikala scored 7 points in a row and the third quarter finished with 42-73. Trikala scored 3 three pointers in the final minute and the difference stopped at 20 points, final score 68-88. Argyris Pedoulakis gave time to Charalampopoulos, Shang Ping. Jeremy Granger and Nestoras Kommatos were the best players for Trikala, with Matalon adding 9 points from three pointers. For Panathinaikos all players available played, only Mavrokefalidis and Ping didn't score but four players finished the game with more than 10 points. Vlantimir Giankovits finished the game with double double, 17 points and 10 rebounds.

PAOK defeated Aries Trikala in friendly game

PAOK BC defeated Aries Trikala in friendly game with 80-70. DJ Cooper and Mark Payne played for the first time with their new team and did a great job. Payne led the score for PAOK with 19 points and DJ Cooper scored 11 points. For Aries Trikala Evans scored 19 points, Will Reinke 13 points and Khalid Mutakabbir 10 points. Quarters' scores were 23-10, 44-32, 63-50, 80-70.
Greek journalists seem to have problems with the spelling of the new Aries Trikala player Khalid Mutakabbir since most news sites refer to him as Mutabakir.

Aries Trikala signed Nestoras Kommatos

Aries Trikala BC signed Nestoras Kommatos. The 36 years old forward will help with this experience the team from Trikala. Kommatos has played in Aris, PAOK, AEK, Maroussi, Fortitudo Bologna and Maccabi Tel Aviv in his career and last season he was playing in Greek basketball league with AGOR (Rethymno). With Rethymno AGOR he played 35 games and had an average of 8.4 points per game and 4.5 rebounds per game.
