KAOD beat Aries Trikala for Greek League 26th day

KAOD beat Aries Trikala in Trikala for Greek Basket League 26th day. It was the most productive game in Greek Basket League 2013-2014 with the two teams scoring 211 points without extra time. Both teams shot and scored many points with free throws, 23/30 for Aries Trikala, 27/33 for KAOD. Chris Evans and Nikola Marković had a massive game. Evans had 35 points, 7 rebounds and 3 steals while Marković had 21 points, 15 rebounds and 3 assists. Patrick Ewing Junior had 26 points and 8 rebounds. Mario Matalon had 13 points and 6 assists while Mike Porrini had 11 assists and 2 points. Lazeric Jones had 17 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists, Edin Bavčić had 20 points and 5 rebounds. Aries Trikala will continue in the Greek Basket League next season and KAOD will continue in the play offs for the first time in the team history.

Panelefsiniakos beat Aries Trikala for Greek League 24th day

Panelefsiniakos hosted and beat Aries Trikala for Greek Basket League 24th day. Panelefsiniakos wanted to win in order to avoid relegation and was more focused than Aries Trikala. In the first half Panelefsiniakos cleared the game. For the winners David Kyles had 20 points, Mouhammad Faye had 18 points and Thomas Nikou had 6 points and 11 assists. For Aries Trikala Chris Evans was the top scorer with 16 points, Christos Deligiannis had 13 points and Jessie Sapp had 10 points.

Aries Trikala lost by Olympiacos for Greek League 23rd day

Aries Trikala lost by Olympiacos for Greek Basket League 23rd day. Olympiacos had 26 assists in this game and 11/23 three pointers, which gave no hopes to the home team. Aries Triakala only managed to lower the difference to 14 points with a good last quarter. For Aries Trikala Chris Evans had 17 points, Stefan Perunicic 12 points and Christos Deligiannis 14 points. For Olympiacos Brent Petway was the top scorer with 21 points, Giannis Papapetrou had 12 points and Mat Lojeski 10 points. Kostas Sloukas had 9 points, 8 assists and 4 steals.

Chris Evans named MVP of 21st day

Chris Evans named MVP of 21st day for his performance against Rethymno Aegean. Evans scored 25 points (6/10 field goals, 3/7 three pointers, 4/5 free throws), collected 12 rebounds, served 1 assist and made two steals in 35 minutes. This is the first day MVP title for Evans and the third for Aries Trikala in the season, after two day MVP titles for Patrick Ewing Junior.

Aries Trikala beat Rethymno Aegean for Greek League 21st day

Aries Trikala hosted and defeated Rethymno Aegean for Greek Basket League 21st day. Rethymno Aegean had won the first round game by only two points. Aries Trikala had 9/10 field goals in the first quarter while Rethymno Aegean had 1/7 so the home team was leading the score with 26-14. First half finished with Aries Trikala leading by 12 points and Rethmyno Aegean having poor accuracy in shots, 6/19 field goals and 4/12 three pointers. Rethymno improved in three pointers in the second half but was still poor in field goals. Besides first quarter all the rest were balanced with partial scores: 14-14, 17-17, 18-18, so the first quarter was the crucial quarter of the game. Chris Evans was the top player of the game and finished the game with a double double 25 points, 12 rebounds. Mike Porrini had 2 points but 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Christos Deligiannis had 11 points with 4/5 field gols and 3/3 free throws. For Rethymno Aegean Damir Latovic had 13 points, Derek Wright 11 points and 8 assists. Kenny Gabriel made another double double with 10 points and 16 rebounds, collecting 14 out of 27 defensive rebounds of his team.

PAOK beat Aries Trikala for Greek League 20th day

PAOK hosted and beat Aries Trikala for Greek Basket League 20th day. PAOK had a great first quarter when the score was 21-8 in 8th minute and preserved the difference till the end of the game. Although PAOK was very poor in three pointers, only 2/18, with 15 rebounds more and 36/40 free throws managed to win the game. Impressive number of fouls drawn and free throws shot for PAOK. Giorgos Bogris made a double double after weeks with 17 points and 14 rebounds. DJ Cooper had 5 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Kostas Charalampidis was the top scorer of PAOK with 19 points, 12/12 free throws. Chris Evans has 16 points and 5 steals for Aries Trikala. Patrick Ewing Junior, Stefan Perunicic and Marios Matalon had two digit score too.

Aries Trikala beat Kolossos Rodou for Greek League 19th day

Aries Trikala hosted and beat Kolossos Rodou for Greek Basket League 19th day. In a crucial game Kolossos Rodou was leading the score for three quarters but Aries Trikala players were more focused in the end and won. Kolossos Rodou shot 32 three pointers in total with only 9 of them being successful, while Aries Trikala had 8/19 three pointers. Chris Evans made a double double with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Marios Matalon had 13 points and 6 rebounds in a good game and Michalis Giannakidis added 12 points. For Kolossos Rodou Bambale Osby had 18 points, 4 rebounds and 7 fouls drawn. Marko Car had 12 points and 4 assists.With that victory Aries Trikala has an advantage against Kolossos Rodou in avoiding relegation.

Ikaros Chalkidas defeated Aries Trikala for Greek Basket League 18th day. This was the debut for Thanasis Giaples as the coach of Ikaros Chalkidas and it was a crucial victory. Aries Trikala was leading the score in the first half, since Ikaros Chalkidas made 11 turnovers up to that point. Ikaros Chalkidas counter attacked in the third quarter with Anthony Roberson and Ryan Richards. With partial score 31-12 in the third quarter Ikaros Chalkidas took the lead and kept it until the end. For Ikaros Chalkidas Anthony Roberson and Ryan Richards scored 16 points each, with Ryan Richards making a double double with 12 rebounds. Ivan Aska had 13 points and 9 rebounds, Dominique Sutton 9 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals. For Aries Trikala Chris Evans had 19 points, Patrick Ewing Jr 11 points and 6 rebounds, Mike Porrini no points but 9 assists and 3 steals.

Aries Trikala beat Ilisiakos for Greek League 17th day

Aries Trikala hosted and beat Ilisiakos for Greek Basket League 17th day. In a crucial game for each team in order to avoid relegation Aries Trikala won by one point and took an advantage against Ilisiakos. Ilisiakos started the game more focused and was leading the score in the first half. Aries Trikala counter attacked and with Patrick Ewing Junior having a great game took the lead in the third quarter but Ilisiakos balanced the game in the last quarter. The victory went to Aries Trikala in the end with a three pointer from Marios Matalon and free throws of Patrick Ewing Junior. This was the sixth home win for Aries Trikala. Ilisiakos tried but made 26 turnovers in the game. Patrick Ewing Junior finished the game with 27 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals and 8 fouls drawn. Chris Evans had 16 points, 6 rebounds, 5 steals and 4 assists. For Ilisiakos DJ Stephens tried his best with a double double of 16 points and 15 rebounds. Nikos Chatzis had 14 points. Courtney Pigram scored 11 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 turnovers and Jessie Sapp 3 points, 4 assists and 2 steals in their debut in the league.

Panathinaikos hosted and defeated Aries Trikala for Greek Basket League 16th day. Debut for Panos in this season with Aries Trikala. Panathinaikos dominated first quarter with score 22-8. Aries Trikala had 0/8 three pointers. Aries Trikala improved in the second quarter and balanced the game. In the first half Chris Evans had 10 points and 5 rebounds, while James Gist had 12 points and 5 rebounds. Aries Trikala played better in the third quarter and lowered the difference to 12 points but Panathinaikos finished the game with a good quarter and the final difference was 20 points. Chris Evans made a double double with 30 points and 12 rebounds. For Panathinaikos all twelve players scored with Mavrokefalidis scoring 13 points and James Gist had 14 points and 9 rebounds. Roko Leni Ukić scored 5 points but served 8 assists.

Aries Trikala lost from Panionios for Greek League 15th day

Aries Trikala hosted Panionios for Greek Basket League 15th day. First quarter started tight but Aries Trikala made a small counter attack in the end and finished it with a small lead of five points. Chris Evans finished the first quarter with 7 points and 6 rebounds. In the second quarter Trikala created a 7 points difference, 23-16, Panionios took the lead 33-34, but first half finished with a 6-0 run from Aries Trikala and 5 points lead. Aries Trikala finished the first half with only 6 turnovers and Chris Evans having a double double with 11 points and 10 rebounds in 20 minutes! Marc Carter had 5 turnovers of the 13 team turnovers of Panionios. In the third quarter Aries Trikala was ahead by 4-5 points but Errick McCollum started scoring for Panionios and with 4/4 three pointers gave a 4 points lead for his team, 55-59. Third quarter finished with Panionios scoring three pointers and Aries Trikala with Mario Matalon free throws. Vasilis Simtsak helped Panionios keep the lead in the fourth quarter beginning. One minute before the end Patrick Ewing Junior scored a three pointer making the score 73-75. McCollum, Langford, Kyritsis, Evans failed to score and Mike Porrini scored and equalized the score 75-75, 30 seconds before the end. Kyritsis and Perunicic failed to score and the game finished with equal score in normal time, 75-75. In extra time Panionios was leading the score and Aries Trikala was equalizing, 75-77 to 77-77, then 77-79 to 79-79 but with consecutive free throws from Nikolopoulos and Patrick Ewing Junior Aries Trikala took the lead with 83-79. Keving Langford scored a three pointer and made the score 83-82. Marc Carter scored the most crucial two points of the game and gave his team a great victory with score 83-84 in extra time. Chris Evans finished the game with double double, 12 points, 14 rebounds, 4 steals and 2 assists. Michael Porrini had 18 points and 4 assists. For Panionios all players, except young Skordilis, scored at least 2 points in the game with Errick McCollum being again the top scorer with 20 points.

Nea Kifisia defeated Aries Trikala for Greek League 14th day

Nea Kifisia hosted and defeated Aries Trikala for Greek Basket League 14th day. Nea Kifisia started better than Aries Trikala the first half, with Tony Crocker and Darrius Garrett leading their team. Nea Kifisia made only 4 turnovers in the first half and had double accuracy than Aries Trikala in two pointers, 73% vs 32%, finishing the first half ahead by 18 points. Aries Trikala complained about referees, since Patrick Ewing Junior was charged with 3 fouls after only 4 minutes in the game. It was almost sure that Aries Trikala will improve in the second half. With Jeremy Granger, Patrick Ewing Junior and Chris Evans made a 9-0 run and lowered the difference from 18 points to only 2 points, 53-51. Nea Kifisia replied with Darrius Garret and two consecutive three pointers from Vasiljevic, broadening the difference to two digits again, 61-51. Nea Kifisia won by 23 points since it had higher shot accuracy, more rebounds and more assists. Tony Crocker was the top scorer with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Darrius Garrett had 9 points and 10 rebounds. Saša Vasiljević with 5/9 three pointers and 17 pointers helped his team with crucial shots. The veteran Michalis Kakiouzis with 5/5 two pointers and 2/2 free throws was a reliable player when needed. For Aries Trikala Chris Evans had 18 points and 8 rebounds, Jeremy Granger 15 points and 8 rebounds, Patrick Ewing Junior 16 points and Giannakidis 11 points and 5 rebounds.

KAOD defeated Aries Trikala for Greek League thirteenth day

KAOD hosted and defeated Aries Trikala for Greek Basket League thirteenth day. In the first quarter Julian Vaughn was incredible with 13 points, 5/5 two pointers, 3/3 free throws and 6 rebounds! On the opposite Chris Evans had 11 points and 2 rebounds. Second quarter was balanced, with partial score 16-16. KAOD finished the first half with only 1/6 three pointers and Aries Trikala with 3/11. Julian Vaughn in his best first half for this season had 20 points, 8 rebounds, 5 fouls drawn without any turnovers or fouls made. Chris Evans was following with 19 points, 4 rebounds and 5 fouls drawn. Almost two men show in the first half. Vaughn didn't score in the second half and Evans scored 7 more points. KAOD was ahead by short difference but was ahead in the whole game. A great victory for KAOD who is taking advantage of his home and winning some crucial games. Julian Vaughn finished the game with a double double, 20 points and 10 rebounds. Nikola Marković nearly missed a double double with 10 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals. Lazeric Jones didn't miss a two pointer and with 6/6 reached 15 points. In his debut with KAOD Dante Stiggers scored 2 points. For Aries Trikala Chris Evans was the top scorer with a double double, 26 points and 12 rebounds. Patrick Ewing Junior missed another double double with 9 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Jeremy Granger scored 21 points with 4 assists.

Olympiacos defeated Aries Trikala for Greek League tenth day

Olympiacos hosted and defeated Aries Trikala for Greek League tenth day. Olympiacos started the game with an 11-0 run and the first half finished with score 25-7. Aries Trikala didn't have any chance to win the game but to play as good as they can and enjoy basketball. The team from Trikala finished the first half with only 15 points scored. In the second half Aries Trikala managed to score 45 points and avoid a negative record or double score. With 1/19 three pointers and 13/48 two pointers you can not ask more against Euroleague champions. Giorgos Printezis finished the game with a double double, scoring 22 points and collecting 12 rebounds. Chris Evans also made a double double with 10 points and 12 rebounds. Patrick Ewing Junior scored 10 points and collected 6 rebounds. Jeremy Granger was the top scorer for Aries Trikala with 12 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals.

Aries Trikala defeated Apollon Patras for Greek League ninth day

Aries Trikala hosted and defeated Apollon Patras for Greek Basketball League ninth day. Aries Trikala was on the bottom of the table but the improving performance of Patrick Ewing Junior and the victory against PAOK cannot let other teams underestimate them. This was the third victory for Aries Trikala in the League. Lenny Daniel made another double double for Apollon Patras with 18 points and 10 rebounds but weren't enough to win the game. Demarius Bolds scored another 16 points for Apollon. For Aries Trikala Chris Evans was and Patrick Ewing Junior were the leader for one more game. Chris Evans scored 14 points and collected 8 rebounds while Patrick Ewing Junior scored 15 points and collected  9 rebounds. Marios Matalon seems improved game by game and this time scored 10 points. Kostas Flevarakis with simple moves is improving his team game by game.

Aries Trikala defeated PAOK for Greek League seventh day

Aries Trikala hosted and defeated PAOK for Greek League seventh day. This was a great victory for Aries Trikala who have won the leading team of the Greek League table. Patrick Ewing Junior scored four points in the first minutes and Aries Trikala made a 6-0 run. First quarter finished with Aries Trikala ahead by 7, 18-11. PAOK didn't balance the game in the second quarter and the first half finished with the two teams having an eleven points difference. Third quarter is the most productive quarter for PAOK in this season but at this game it was destructive. PAOK finished the third quarter 21 points behind Aries Trikala. PAOK players were tired due to many travels for Eurocup and the two extra time in their previous game in Greece. The final score was a big surprise for the Greek League. Aries Trikala dominated the rebounds with 44 collected while making only 7 turnovers. Two players of Aries Trikala finished the game with a double double, Chris Evans with 11 points and 12 rebounds and Patrick Ewing Junior with 22 points and 12 rebounds. Patrick Ewing Junior was rated 33 in the ranking system, a score which can lead to the MVP of the day. Ewing had 22 points, 12 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals and zero turnovers!

Aries Trikala defeated Ikaros Chalkidas for Greek League fifth day

Aries Trikala hosted and defeated Ikaros Chalkidas for the fifth day of the Greek Basketball League. Aries Trikala had 4 defeats in the league and Ikaros Chalkidas with one victory were one point ahead. Ikaros Chalkidas won and eliminated Aries Trikala for the Greek Cup second round by 4 points. Patrick Ewing Jr and Khalid Mutakabbir (3/3 three pointers in first quarter) started the game with a 19-2 run for Aries Trikala. Dominique Sutton started to scored but the first quarter finished with 29-16 for Aries Trikala in their best quarter till now in the league. Second quarter was better for Ikaros Chalkidas that finished the half time behind by 8 points, 43-35. Evans, Petrovic and Mutakabbir were scoring three pointers with Aries Trikala having 12/27 in total. Dominique Sutton, who made a double double early in the fourth quarter, was trying with Gagaloudis and Aska but weren't enough. This was the first victory for Aries Trikala in this season and the team reached Ikaros Chalkidas in the table. Aries Trikala scored 100 points. Patrick Ewing made his second double double, 17 points and 12 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals and zero turnovers! Chris Evans scored 25 points, Mutakabbir 18 points and Petrovic 16. For Ikaros Chalkidas the veteran Gagaloudis scored 20 points and Dominique Sutton made another double double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Panionios wins Aries Trikala for the second day of Greek Basketball League

Panionios hosted and defeated Aries Trikala for the second day of Greek Basketball League.
First two points for Nestoras Kommatos and Aries Trikala but then Panionios ran an 8-0 score and took the lead in score. First quarter finished without any team scoring a three pointer, 0/4 for Panionios and 0/4 for Aries Trikala. Since the defenses were tight both teams mainly scored with free throws, 7 for Panionios and 8 for Aries Trikala. First quarter finished with Panionios ahead by 5 points since it had better accuracy in shots than Aries Trikala who had 20% in two pointers and 0% in three pointers. Second half started with four points from Ewing Jr for Trikala and the first three pointer for Panionios from Carter. Patrick Ewing Junior who entered in the second quarter started with  4/4 two pointers and was the main reason Trikala followed the score, but also made 3 fouls and went back to bench. Without Ewing Trikala felt back in score since Errick McCollum scored and served assists. Panionios had scored 15 points from free throws while Trikala finished first half without three pointers after five attempts. Chris Evans scored the first three pointers for Trikala and Nestoras Kommatos the second, marking a counter attack for Trikala in the second half. In 36' Aries Trikala took the lead in score for the first time after 0-2 with 38-40. Duvnjak with a three pointer made the score 43-42 that gave the lead again to Panionios. Ewing was fouled out on 35' and then Trikala bench was charged with technical foul. Three free throws made the score 58-51 and Panionios took a great advantage. Trikala tried in the end but Batis blocked Mutakabbir in the crucial attack. Evans finished the game with 17 and 7 rebounds, Kommatos with 12 points and Ewing Jr with 10 points before being fouled out. Panionios scored 34 points with free throws which was the statistical highlight of the match. Errick McCollum was the leader of Panionios for another game with Milbourne following with 15 points. Panionios doubled its victories and Aries Trikala its loses.
