Ilisiakos and DJ Stephens part ways

Ilisiakos and DJ Stephens part ways. The American left Athens on Friday and is searching a new contract in USA. DJ Stephens had a good season but Ilisiakos was in the bottom of the league table and will probably relegate to the second division. In 18 games Stephens had an average of 9,78 points and 8,83 rebounds per game. DJ Stephens left Greek Basket League while he was second in rebounds (159), first in blocks (40) and fourth in turnovers (64). DJ Stephens will probably continue his career in Milwaukee Bucks.

Aries Trikala beat Ilisiakos for Greek League 17th day

Aries Trikala hosted and beat Ilisiakos for Greek Basket League 17th day. In a crucial game for each team in order to avoid relegation Aries Trikala won by one point and took an advantage against Ilisiakos. Ilisiakos started the game more focused and was leading the score in the first half. Aries Trikala counter attacked and with Patrick Ewing Junior having a great game took the lead in the third quarter but Ilisiakos balanced the game in the last quarter. The victory went to Aries Trikala in the end with a three pointer from Marios Matalon and free throws of Patrick Ewing Junior. This was the sixth home win for Aries Trikala. Ilisiakos tried but made 26 turnovers in the game. Patrick Ewing Junior finished the game with 27 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals and 8 fouls drawn. Chris Evans had 16 points, 6 rebounds, 5 steals and 4 assists. For Ilisiakos DJ Stephens tried his best with a double double of 16 points and 15 rebounds. Nikos Chatzis had 14 points. Courtney Pigram scored 11 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 turnovers and Jessie Sapp 3 points, 4 assists and 2 steals in their debut in the league.

Ilisiakos defeated Panelefsiniakos for Greek Basket League 16th day. Ilisiakos' team play helped the team to finish the first quarter ahead by 6, while Panelefsiniakos had Papamakarios with 7 points. With Panagiotis Kafkis, Periklis Dorkofikis and DJ Stephens scoring 31 points together Ilisiakos broadened its lead in the half time to 12 points. Panelefsiniakos lowered the difference to 10 points in the third quarter but with poor three pointers accuracy and less rebounds than Ilisiakos could not ask more. Ilisiakos defeated Panelefsiniakos in a tight game where home team had 25/37 free throws and Panelefsiniakos 20/24. Courtney Pigram in his debut scored 16 points. Olympiacos hosted and defeated Ilisiakos for Greek Basket League 15th day. In the first game without its top scorer, Kevin Anderson, Ilisiakos made a suprisingly good game and was leading the game for 21 minutes. Olympiacos had to tried more in a supposingly easy game. For Olympiacos 11 players, all except young Katsivelis scored. For Ilisiakos the veteran Nikos Chatzis scored 22 points and DJ Stephens 6 points with 13 rebounds. Jamario Moon was the top scorer of Olympiacos in his first game in the League.

Ilisiakos hosted and defeated Rethymno Aegean for Greek Basket League thirteenth day. Rethymno Aegean was better in the first half and finished it with a small lead of 3 points. Ilisiakos counter attacked in the second quarter and finished the half time ahead by 11 points. Second half started and finished like the first half did. Rethymno Aegean dominated the third quarter and took the lead in score again with 54-59. In the last quarter the home team was massive, scoring 32 points and let Rethmyno Aegean score only 13 points. Ilisiakos reversed the score two times and won the game by 14 points. Very tight game with Ilisiakos shooting 42 free throws and scoring 32 of them. Nikos Chatzis had a great game with 20 points, 3 assists and 6 fouls drawn in 18 minutes. DJ Stephens made a double double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Kevin Anderson was the top scorer of Ilisiakos with 29 points, 10/10 free throws, 5/6 two pointers and 3/5 three pointers. Panathinaikos defeated Iisiakos for Greek Basketball League eighth day. Panathinaikos didn't face many problems against Ilisiakos since DJ Stephens was alone in scoring for the home team and finished the game with 19 points and 8 rebounds. Vlantimir Giankovits scored 19 points and Mike Batiste scored 14 points without missing any shot, 7/7 shots. Panathinaikos had 6/22 three pointers but 23/27 two pointers. Panathinaikos' captain Dimitris Diamantidis played only 13 minutes, an easy game to relax before crucial Euroleague game.

Panionios hosted and defeated Ilisiakos for Greek League seventh day. Ilisiakos started better and took the lead. First quarter finished with Ilisiakos ahead by 5, 18-23, same in the second quarter, 32-37. Ilisiakos was keeping the victory for 33 minutes but then Panionios counter attacked and won the game in the end. Ilisiakos scored only 8 points in the last quarter and gave Panionios a difficult victory. McCollum was once again the leader of Panionios with 29 points and 33 in the ranking system. DJ Stephens scored 15 points and collected 8 rebounds.

Ilisiakos hosted Nea Kifisia in a game where the winner would leave the loser last in the table. The veteran Nikos Barlos helped his team took the lead in the first quarter, where Nea Kifisia was ahead with 18-26. DJ Stephens and Petrodimopoulos scored in the second quarter and the first half finished with the two teams close in score, 37-39. Third quarter was competitive as well and the score remained balanced. Ilisiakos with Kevin Anderson scoring better in the last quarter, turned the game upside down and finally won it by 6 points, 71-65. Great come back for Ilisiakos in a crucial home game. Tony Crocker and Tony Woods both finished the game with a double double, 11 points and 10 rebounds for Crocker, 14 points and 11 rebounds for Woods.

KAOD defeated Ilisiakos Greek League fifth day

KAOD hosted and defeated Ilisiakos for the fifth day of the Greek Basketball League. KAOD started the game better than Ilisiakos and was leading the score for three quarters. Ilisiakos was approaching and lowering the distance and managed to equalize and took the lead in the fourth quarter. KAOD was calm in the last two minutes and with Edin Bavčić scoring took the victory in the end. DJ Stephens had a great game but missed the last three pointer. Julian Vaughn (11 points, 10 rebounds) for KAOD and DJ Stephens (16 points, 11 rebounds) for Ilisiakos finished the game with a double double.

Ilisiakos hosted and won Aries Trikala for the fourth day of Greek Basketball League. This was the first victory of Ilisiakos for this season. Aries Trikala had a good first quarter with Patrick Ewing Jr scoring 4 points in a row. DJ Stephens made three blocks in the first quarter and Smith scored but Aries Trikala finished the first quarter with the lead. Ilisiakos made a 17-2 run in the second quarter and finished the first half with a 12 points difference. Third quarter was time for Aries Trikala counter attack and the difference lowered to 6 points. Ilisiakos managed to keep the difference in the last quarter and won its first game. DJ Stephens finished the game with 11 points, 9 rebounds and 6 blocks. For Aries Trikala Patrick Ewing Jr had his first double double with 15 points and 14 rebounds.

Panelefsiniakos hosted Ilisiakos for the third day of the Greek Basketball League. Panelefsiniakos had 4/6 three pointers in the first quarter which balanced the 5/19 two pointers and give it the lead with 24-16. The score didn't change since Panelefsiniakos finished the game with 11/22 three pointers while Ilisiakos had 3/22. Panelefsiniakos also dominated rebounds with 49 total. Rob Jones finished the game with a double double, 15 points and 11 rebounds. Mouhammad Faye scored 9 points and collected 11 rebounds, close to double double. Manolis Papamakarios served 7 assists, Raley Ross scored 13 points. For Ilisiakos Kevin Anderson scored 21 points and DJ Stephens 14 points.
