Olympiacos and Perperoglou part ways

Stratos Perperoglou won't continue his career in Greece since the player didn't agree terms with Olympiacos. Perperoglou was a player of Olympiacos for the previous two seasons and before that had played for Panathinaikos, Panionios and Ilisiakos. In this season Perperoglou  played 20 games and had 9 points and 3.65 rebounds in average per game. Perperoglou will probably continue his career in Turkey and Anadolu Efes Spor Kulübü, first time that he will play abroad.

Olympiacos beat Aris for Greek League Play Offs

Olympiacos beat and eliminated Aris for Greek Basket League Play Offs round one. Olympiacos doubled its victories against Aris in the play offs with the same ease of the first game. Vasilis Spanoulis scored 15 points and served 7 assists, Stratos Perperoglou and Giorgos Printezis scored 10 points each and all players of Olympiacos played at least 5 minutes. For Aris Lefteris Bochoridis and Kostas Charisis scored 10 points each but the team couldn't compete Olympiacos.

Olympiacos lost by Armani Milano for Euroleague Top 16

Olympiacos hosted and lost byArmani Milano for Euroleague Top 16. Olympiacos without Vasilis Spanoulis but with Giorgi Shermandini available was better in the first quarter but before the half time Armani Milano managed to take the lead in score. Keith Langford had 13 points and Stratos Perperoglou 15 points in the first half. From that point on the game was tight with Armani Milano having a small lead of 2-3 points and Olympiacos trying to counter attack. In the last minutes Olympiacos with Stratos Perperoglou took the lead by 81-80 but then Bryant Dunston lost two free throws and Keith Langford scored a three pointer making the score 81-85. Olympiacos lost a game without the captain Vasilis Spanoulis and will fight to promote in the next round, since the second place is probably lost for the Euroleague winners. 22 points for Stratos Perperoglou, 20 points for Keith Langford and 16 points with 9 rebounds for Giorgos Printezis.

Fenerbahçe Ülker beat Olympiacos for Euroleague Top 16

Fenerbahçe Ülker beat Olympiacos Piraeus for Euroleague Top 16. Olympiacos played without its captain Vasilis Spanoulis and had problems in ball play. Bo McCalebb scored 20 points and the former Olympiacos' player Linas Kleiza scored 21 points. For Olympiacos Stratos Perperoglou and Kostas Sloukas scored 17 points each. Olympiacos now have to fight for better placing in the group.

Panathinaikos beat Olympiacos for Euroleague Top 16

Panathinaikos hosted and beat Olympiacos for Euroleague Top 16. Olympiacos score the first points with Dunston but Panathinaikos replied. Olympiacos was scoring and Panathinaikos was equalizing till Roko Leni Ukić with a three pointer put Panathinaikos first time in lead with 10-9. Giorgos Printezis with four consecutive points made the score 10-13. Panathinaikos made a 7-0 run and the score was 17-13. Stratos Perperoglou with 5 consecutive points made the score of the first half 19-18. In the second quarter Perperoglou reached 11 points, making the score 19-20. Panathinaikos made the score 27-23 but Olympiacos with a 8-0 run took the lead by 4, 27-31. Dimitris Diamantidis with an assist and a lay up balanced the game, 31-31. One minute before the half time Stephane Lasme won an unsportsmanlike foul from Brent Petway and didn't miss the two free throws. Half time score 35-33 with the two teams swapping the leading of the score. Vasilis Spanoulis finished the first half with zero points. For Olympiacos Stratos Perperoglou had 11 points, Giorgos Printezis 6 points and Mantzaris 5 rebounds in the first half. For Panathinaikos Roko Leni Ukić had 9 points, Dimitris Diamantidis 7 points and 4 assists in the first half. Panathinaikos made only 2 turnovers in the first half but Olympiacos had the rebounds. Second half started with a three pointer and foul drawn from Printezis and the score 37-37. Spanoulis scored his first points after 27 minutes and Mardy Collins with a difficult shot finished the third quarter with equal score, 47-47. Fourth quarter started with the first three pointer of Vasilis Spanoulis that made the score 47-50. Mike Bramos with a three pointer equalized the score, 54-54. Kostas Sloukas with a three pointer made the score 55-59 and Stephane Lasme 57-59. With score 61-61 Spanoulis and Printezis missed one three pointer each. Dimitris Diamantidis missed one free throw and the score was 62-61, 41 seconds before the end. Vasilis Spanoulis missed another three pointer, James Gist took the rebound and scored one free throw, 1/4 free throws for the American. 21 seconds before the end and the score was 63-61 for Panathinaikos. Ukić made the 4th foul of Panathinaikos 17 seconds before the end and Olympiacos called a time out. Matt Lojeski missed a shot and Dimitris Diamantidis won a foul 3 seconds before the end. Diamantidis scored one free throw, the score was 64-61 and Diamantidis made a foul 2.1 seconds before the end. Stratos Perperoglou missed the first free throw and scored the second. 2.1 seconds before the end with the score 64-62 Panathinaikos had possession of the ball and called a time out. Stephane Lasme won a foul one second before the end. Lasme scored both free throws and the final score was 66-62. Stephane Lasme was the top scorer of Panathinaikos with 18 points and Stratos Perperoglou for Olympiacos with 12 points. Vasilis Spanoulis had 6 points with 1/9 three pointers and Dimitris Diamantidis 9 points and 8 assists. Olympiacos collected 35 rebounds, 8 more than Panathinaikos but Panathinaikos made only 7 turnovers in the game.

Olympiacos defeated Unicaja Malaga for Euroleague TOP 16

Olympiacos hosted and defeated Unicaja Malaga for Euroleague TOP 16. The Euroleague champion seems to recover after a short period of bad games.  First quarter was balanced but Olympiacos took the lead early in the second quarter and broadened the difference in the third and fourth quarter. Both teams were poor in three pointers but Olympiacos made less turnovers and collected more rebounds. All twelve players of Olympiacos scored at least two points, great team play.

Olympiacos defeated Panionios for Greek League thirteenth day

Panionios hosted Olympiacos for Greek Basket League thirteenth day. Olympiacos took the lead with an early 1-10 run and finished the first half ahead in score by 8 points. Spanoulis had 2/2 three pointers in the first quarter. Second quarter was balanced and more productive. First half finished with score 39-48 and Panionios following Olympiacos in score. In the third quarter Olympiacos broadened the difference above 10 points, that kept it until the end. Panionios was bad in three pointers with 4/18 and collected 30 rebounds, while Olympiacos collected 13 rebounds more. For one more game Errick McCollum was the top scorer of Panionios with 19 points and 4 assists but had 2/10 in two pointers. Vasilis Spanoulis scored 26 points and Stratos Perperoglou 11 points. Olympiacos captain had 6/10 three pointers and 6/6 free throws. Stratos Perperoglou, Cedric Simmons and Vangelis Mantzaris collected 8 rebounds each.

Olympiacos defeated Stelmet Zielona Góra for Euroleague

Olympiacos defeated for second time Stelmet Zielona Góra for Euroleague. Olympiacos won Stelmet Zielona Góra easier in the second game away from home, than in the first game that took place in Greece. The Euroleague winners were leading the score for the whole game and let no hope to the home team. For Zielona Góra Zamojski scored 22 points and Dragičević 14 points. For Olympiacos Stratos Perperoglou was in shape for another game and scored 23 points with Matt Lojeski following with 18 points and Vasilis Spanoulis another 17 points.

Olympiacos defeated Aries Trikala for Greek League tenth day

Olympiacos hosted and defeated Aries Trikala for Greek League tenth day. Olympiacos started the game with an 11-0 run and the first half finished with score 25-7. Aries Trikala didn't have any chance to win the game but to play as good as they can and enjoy basketball. The team from Trikala finished the first half with only 15 points scored. In the second half Aries Trikala managed to score 45 points and avoid a negative record or double score. With 1/19 three pointers and 13/48 two pointers you can not ask more against Euroleague champions. Giorgos Printezis finished the game with a double double, scoring 22 points and collecting 12 rebounds. Chris Evans also made a double double with 10 points and 12 rebounds. Patrick Ewing Junior scored 10 points and collected 6 rebounds. Jeremy Granger was the top scorer for Aries Trikala with 12 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals.

Olympiacos defeated Siena for Euroleague

Olympiacos hosted Siena for Euroleague. The Euroleague champions had already qualified as first of their group while Siena was fighting for qualification. Olympiacos had won Siena in the first game in Italy. Siena needed the win to continue so the Italian team started better in the first half and took the lead. In the second half Olympiacos reacted and with a small run went ahead in the score but the counter attack of Siena, with Erick Green and Joshua Carter, finished the first half with the visitors ahead by 11 points. Third quarter was productive and balanced with both teams scoring 21 points. Olympiacos didn't need the victory but had an undefeated row to defend. In the fourth quarter Spanoulis, Lojeski and Perperoglou had a great game and Olympiacos scored 32 points in one quarter, winning the game in the end. Erick Greek scored 28 points and Othello Hunter collected 10 rebounds but weren't enough to win the game.

Olympiacos defeated Bayern Munich for Euroleague

Bayern Munich hosted Olympiacos for Euroleague. The Euroleague champions made their eighth straight victory in the Euroleague. Olympiacos was the second team, with Real Madrid, to be undefeated in the Euroleague and the German team has troubled with champions in the first game. This was the Euroleague debut for Vasilis Kavadas, who signed with Olympiacos few days before the game. Olympiacos had 8/14 three pointers in the first half and with a 10-0 run in the last minutes finished the first half with 9 points difference. Bayen Munich equalized the score couple times in the second quarter and counter attacked in the third quarter taking the lead with 70-67. At that point Stratos Peperoglou with six points in a row kept Olympiacos close in score. Stratos Peperoglou with 6/6 two pointer and Vasilis Spanoulis with 4/5 three pointers were the leader of Olympiacos in the third crucial quarter. Fourth quarter started with two three pointers from the young Greek players of Olympiacos, Sloukas and Mantzaris. Two minutes before the end Olympiacos reached 100 points with a free throw from Ace Law. Malcolm Delaney with two free throws equalized the score to 102-102 and there were 9,5 seconds left for Olympiacos. Bayern Munich made a foul to Dunston. Dunston scored only one free throw but Stratos Perperoglou continued his great game, collected the rebound and scored two free throws. With the score 102-105 Malcolm Delaney was again in the free throws. Delaney scored only one free throw and Schaffartzik wasn't successful in the last shot, so Olympiacos won the game with 103-105.

Dopping control for 4 Olympiacos players

ESKAN, the Greek anti-doping authority, took sample from four Olympiacos' players before the game against Galatasaray for Euroleague.  The four players are Kostas Sloukas, Vangelis Mantzaris, Stratos Perperoglou and Mirza Begić.

Olympiacos defeated Rethymno Aegean

Olympiacos defeated Rethymno Aegean for the sixth day of Greek Basketball League. Olympiacos continued being the only undefeated team in the League. Olympiacos started the game with a 2-13 run and the first quarter finished 12-23. In the half time the difference was at 18 points, 33-51. The difference grew more in the third quarter and Olympiacos won easily reaching 100 points. Derek Wright finished the game with 10 points and 8 assists, Kenny Gabriel with 16 points and 7 rebounds. Vasilis Spanoulis had 9 assists, Matt Lojeski 10 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. For Olympiacos all players scored at least 2 points. For Rethmyno only Kanonidis and the captain Kallinikidis didn't score. Brent Petway scored 13 points against his previous team.

Olympiacos defeated Ikaros Chalkidas for the third day of Greek Basketball League

Olympiacos smashed Ikaros Chalkidas by 99-61 for the third day of Greek Basketball League. Olympiacos didn't reach 100 points for one but the 38 points of difference says it all. Perperoglou, Sloukas and Dunston scored 52 points combined so Ivan Aska who made a double double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. The game doesn't stand analysis but Ikaros Chalkidas couldn't expect more with 1/18 three pointers compared with 8/19 from Olympiacos.
