Panathinaikos beat PAOK for Greek Cup semi finals

Panathinaikos beat PAOK for Greek Basketball Cup 2014-2015 semi finals. Panathinaikos will play in the Greek Cup Final for eleventh consecutive year! The game was tight and PAOK equalized the score in the last minute but with four seconds remaining Panathinaikos managed to make the winning shot with Vlanto Giankovits. Giankovits scored a great buzzer beater and gave his team the ticket to the Cup Final. For the winners Giankovits and Gist scored 13 points each, Slaughter socred 12 points, Batista 11. Gist and Batista collected 7 rebounds each, while Diamantidis served 7 assists. For PAOK Kevin Langford scored 18 points, Christos Saloustros collected 9 rebounds, Margaritis scored 9 points and collected 8 rebounds. Jake Odume missed the last crucial free throws but had 9 points and 7 rebounds. Panathinaikos will probably keep its crown against Apollon Patras in the final but PAOK and Soulis Markopoulos build a great team step by step.

PAOK beat KAOD for Basket League sixteenth day

PAOK hosted and beat KAOD for Basket League Greece 2014-2015 sixteenth day. PAOK was counting five defeats in a row in the domestic and European games but with 10/22 three pointers beat KAOD. For the winners Kevin Langford had 13 points, Vangelis Margaritis had 11 points, Marc Carter and Apollon Tsochlas had 10 points each. Jake Odum collected 8 rebounds, Charitopoulos and Saloustros collected 6 rebounds each. For KAOD the captain Thodoris Zaras had 15 points and 6 rebounds, Obie Trotter had 11 points and 4 assists, Guy Michel Marc had 9 points and 5 rebounds.

Aris beat PAOK for Basket League fifteenth day

Aris beat PAOK for Basket League Greece 2014-2015 fifteenth day.  Aris beat PAOK in its home and now is only one point behind. PAOK was leading the score only in the first quarter but Aris took the lead before the half time and kept it until the end. For PAOK Marc Carter had 21 points but with 3/11 three pointers, and Vangelis Margaritis had 11 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists. Julian Vaughn made a double double with 18 points and 10 rebounds. For Aris Aleksandar Vezenkov had a massive game with 29 points, 5/10 three pointers, 14 rebounds, 3 assists and only 1 turnover. Drew Naymick has 10 rebounds and 7 points, Pasalic and Reed has 11 points each. PAOK made only 7 total turnovers but had 8/30 three pointers and 17/26 free throws. Great victory for Aris against its greatest rival.

PAOK beat Kolossos Rodou for Basket League eleventh day

Kolossos Rodou hosted PAOK for Basket League eleventh day. Dominic Waters debuted in the Greek League and with 8 points gave his team and early lead, 10-8, but PAOK managed to finish the first quarter leading by 5 points, 19-24. The home balanced the game and the first half finished with equal score, 39-39. Dominic Waters and Jake Odum finished the first half with 10 points. The game was tight with Kolossos Rodou leading the score of the third quarter by one points but PAOK winning the game by two points. For Kolossos Rodou Angelos Tsamis was the top scorer and rebounder with 18 points and 8 rebounds. Jamele Hagins had 11 points and 7 rebounds, Ernest Scott had 10 points and 4 assists. Dominic Waters finished the game with 10 points and 7 turnovers. For PAOK Jake Odum had 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists, Kevin Langford had 8 rebounds and 8 rebounds, Vangelis Margaritis had 12 points and 6 rebounds. Apollon Tsochlas had 5 assists. JR Bremer had 1/7 three pointers and PAOK had 6/28 three pointers.

PAOK beat Budućnost Voli Podgorica for Eurocup tenth day

PAOK beat Budućnost Voli Podgorica for Eurocup tenth day. PAOK had 14 turnovers in the first half and scored only 6 points in the second quarter but the home team with 0/10 three pointers could not build a difference. Julian Vaughn had 14 points and 6 rebounds in the half time. PAOK got the lead in the third quarter but the home team balanced the game and the two teams went to extra time. Budućnost Voli had 4/26 three pointers but on the other hand PAOK made 22 turnovers. For the home team Omar Cook had 14 points and 10 assists, Reynolds JR had 9 points, 5 assists and 3 steals, Suad Sehovic had 10 points with 2/4 three pointers and 8 rebounds. For PAOK Julian Vaughn had 17 points and 6 rebounds, Vangelis Margaritis had 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 points, JR Bremer had 12 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists. With this victory PAOK finished second in the Group F of Eurocup 2014-2015.

Apollon Patras beat PAOK for Basket League ninth day

Apollon Patras hosted and beat PAOK for Basket League ninth day. Apollon has only one away victory but is undefeated in home. Kevin Galloway returned to good games and PAOK was affected from constant games and the injury of its captain Charalampidis. Apollon Patras dominated the first three quarters and PAOK managed only to lower the difference in the last quarter. Toarlyn Fitzpatrick finished the game with a double double, 23 points and 12 rebounds. Kevin Galloway returned to good games with 17 points and 6 assists. Muhammad El-Amin continue the good games with 15 points. Gaios Skordilis had 12 points and 8 rebounds. For PAOK Kevin Langford and Apollon Tsochlas had 16 points each, Vangelis Margaritis had 13 points. Apollon Patras made only 8 turnovers while PAOK had 14.

PAOK beat Nea Kifisia for for Greek League play offs round one

PAOK beat Nea Kifisia for for Greek Basket League play offs round one. PAOK faced problems to win Nea Kifisia that was very competitive and led the score by 17-20. DJ Cooper with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists was the best player of PAOK and the leader of his team. Kostas Charalampidis added 15 points and Vangelis Margaritis 10 points and 5 rebounds. For Nea Kifisia Nikos Liakopoulos had 14 points, Nikos Barlos 15 points, Ogo Adegboye 10 points and Dimitris Tsaldaris 12 points. Tough victory for PAOK that made 1-0 in the play offs in its home.

PAOK lost by Panathinaikos for Greek League 24th day

PAOK lost by Panathinaikos for Greek Basket League 24th day. With that victory Panathinaikos secured the first place in the regular season again after three years. Panathinaikos had only 4/17 three pointers, while PAOK had 10/21 three pointers, but the visitors were impressive in field goals with 30/43. Another highlight is that Panathinaikos finished the game with 10/10 free throws, Lasme and Wright had 4/4 free throws each and Ukic had 2/2. PAOK could only follow Panathinaikos in the first half. For the home team Giorgos Bogris was the top scorer and player with 14 points and 5 rebounds. DJ Cooper had 9 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists. Besides Bogris the other two players of PAOK with two digits score were Greek, Michalis Tsairelis and Vangelis Margaritis. For Panathinaikos Stephane Lasme was the top scorer with 20 points, Dimitris Diamantidis had 10 points and 7 assists, Loukas Mavrokefalidis had 10 points without missing a shot (5/5 field goals) and 5 rebounds.

PAOK beat Nea Kifisia for Greek League 22nd day

PAOK hosted and defeated Nea Kifisia for Greek Basket League 22nd day. Nea Kifisia had won the first round game by 9 points. PAOK played without Mark Payne and Nea Kifisia without Tony Crocker. PAOK started better and was leading the score for three quarters but Nea Kifisia managed to balance the game and equalize it in the end. The game went to extra time where PAOK won by nine points. Great game by Kostas Charalampidis who scored 29 points. DJ Cooper had 6 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Double double for the veteran Michalis Kakiouzis who had 12 points, 13 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. Nikos Liakopoulos had 17 points, 7 assists and 4 rebounds. PAOK seems to secure the fourth position in the regular season.

KAOD beat PAOK for Greek League 21st day

KAOD hosted and beat PAOK for Greek Basket League 21st day. KAOD had won all three home games against PAOK in the previous three seasons and PAOK had won all four games in Thessaloniki, making it a couple where the home teams always win. KAOD was leading the score in the first half since PAOK had 1/10 three pointers and home team only 2 turnovers. PAOK improved in the second half, lowered the difference in the third quarter and balanced the game in the end so the game went to extra time. In the extra time PAOK started with a 4-0 run but KAOD replied with a 9-0 run and lead the score till the end. PAOK was really bad at three pointers with only 3/20 while KAOD had 11/26. For PAOK Vangelis Margaritis was the top scorer with 15 points (4/4 field goals, 7/7 free throws), 6 rebounds and 3 steals. Giorgos Dedas and Mark Payne had 12 points each, Giorgos Bogris and Kostas Charalampidis 10 points each. DJ Cooper had 8 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists but also 0/6 three pointers and 4 turnovers. For KAOD J'Covan Brown had 24 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Nikola Marković had only 4 points but also 12 rebounds and 4 assists.
