Olympiacos beat Panathinaikos for Basket League twenty fourth day

Olympiacos beat Panathinaikos for Basket League twenty fourth day. With another great game by Spanoulis and Printezis Olympiacos doubled its wins against Panathinaikos, secured the first place and the home advantage in the the play offs. Panathinaikos played without James Gist, who was banned due to marijuana use, and this was the last game with Ivanovic as Panathinaikos coach. The game was interrupted for 25 minutes in the end, since home fans broke into court, after Spanoulis celebrated a crucial three pointer.

Panathinaikos beat Panionios for Basket League twenty second day

Panathinaikos beat Panionios for Basket League Greece 2014-2015 twenty second day. Panionios was competitive in the first half but in the second half did not follow the greens. With this defeat the historic club of Panionios was officially relegated to the second division. For the home team Xanthopoulos served 8 assists, Korolev collected 9 rebounds. William Coleman made a double double with 21 points and 10 rebounds but were not enough. For the winners AJ Slaughter had 18 points with 3/6 three pointers, Nikos Pappas had 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists, Antonis Fotsis collected 8 rebounds. Esteban Batista made a double double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Panathinaikos beat KAOD for Basket League twentieth day

Panathinaikos beat KAOD for Basket League Greece 2014-2015 twentieth day. Panathinaikos allowed KAOD to score 24 points in the first quarter but tight its defence and created a two digits difference. With Esteban Batista having 20 points and 8 rebounds, and Dimitris Diamantidis making a double double with 14 points and 10 assists, Panathinaikos won in Drama and now prepares for the game against Real Madrid. For KAOD its captain Thodoris Zaras had 14 points and 5 assists. KAOD had 6/23 three pointers and collected only 18 rebounds in total.

Panathinaikos beat PAOK for Basket League nineteenth day

Panathinaikos hosted and beat PAOK for Basket League Greece 2014-2015 nineteenth day. PAOK started with a 9-3 run and troubled Panathinaikos. Panathinaikos balanced the game but PAOK with Kevin Langford equalized the score again in the third quarter, 39-39. Then Giankovits and Batista helped their team to create a secure difference until the end. Good game for Vlando Giankovits with 14 points and 5 assists. Nikos Pappas had 12 points, 6 assists and 3 steals, Esteban Batista had 11 points and 9 rebounds, Fotsis with 3 three pointers contributed 11 points and DeMarcus Nelson had 12 points. For PAOK Kevin Langford had 15 points and 6 rebounds, Marc Carter had 17 points and 8 rebounds, Dimitris Charitopoulos scored 10 points and collected 6 rebounds, and Tsochlas scored 10 points with 2 three pointers. Panathinaikos played conservative and smart making only 8 turnovers and having 21 assists.

Panathinaikos beat Rethymno Aegean for Basket League Greece 2014-2015 eighteenth day. James Gist with many impressive dunaks and 19 points led Panathinaikos to an easy victory against Rethymno Aegean. Gist had 8/8 field goals and 1/2 free throws. Gani Lawal did not miss a shot and scored 8 points. For Panathinaikos Nikos Pappas scored 19 points, Dimitris Diamantidis served 8 assists, and Esteban Batista collected 6 rebounds. Batista also made 5 tunovers, out of 14 team total. For Rethymno Aegean Mouhammad Faye had 19 points and 5 rebounds, Dejan Kravic had 15 points, Roeland Schaftenaar collected 5 rebounds, and Vincent Council had 5 assists and 4 turnovers.

Panathinaikos beat PAOK for Greek Cup semi finals

Panathinaikos beat PAOK for Greek Basketball Cup 2014-2015 semi finals. Panathinaikos will play in the Greek Cup Final for eleventh consecutive year! The game was tight and PAOK equalized the score in the last minute but with four seconds remaining Panathinaikos managed to make the winning shot with Vlanto Giankovits. Giankovits scored a great buzzer beater and gave his team the ticket to the Cup Final. For the winners Giankovits and Gist scored 13 points each, Slaughter socred 12 points, Batista 11. Gist and Batista collected 7 rebounds each, while Diamantidis served 7 assists. For PAOK Kevin Langford scored 18 points, Christos Saloustros collected 9 rebounds, Margaritis scored 9 points and collected 8 rebounds. Jake Odume missed the last crucial free throws but had 9 points and 7 rebounds. Panathinaikos will probably keep its crown against Apollon Patras in the final but PAOK and Soulis Markopoulos build a great team step by step.

Panathinaikos beat AEK for Basket League Greece 2014-2015 sixteenth day. AEK started with 7-1 run, Panathinaikos balanced the game but the first half finished with AEK leading the score. AEK was bad in three pointers, 2/14, and Panathinaikos took the lead and created a secure difference. For AEK Pops Mensah-Bonsu made a double double with 18 points, 11 rebounds and 8 fouls drawn. Malik Hairston and Dusan Sakota scored 12 points each and Zisis Sarikopoulos collected 8 rebounds. Carl English had 1/8 three pointers and made 6 turnovers. For Panathinaikos Esteban Batista made a double double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. James Gist scored 13 points, Antonis Fotsis collected 7 rebounds, Dimitris Diamantidis served 6 assists. Panathinaikos hosted and beat Kolossos Rodou for Basket League 2014-2015 fifteenth day. Kolossos surprised Panathinaikos and the visitors were leading the score in the first quarter. Diamantidis entered the court and with his eight assists organized the counter attack. AJ Slaughter with 3 three pointers created a difference for Panathinaikos but in the end the youngsters Bochoridis, Koniaris, Charalampopoulos and Diamantakos secured the victory. For the winners Esteban Batista had 17 points, Dimitris Diamantidis had 9 points and 8 assists, Vlantimir Giankovits had 7 rebounds and 4 assists, and Vasilis Charalampopoulos made 4 steals. Panathinaikos made only 8 team turnovers while Kolossos made 17 in total. Panathinaikos hosted and beat Aris for Basket League tenth day. Panathinaikos played without Dimitris Diamantidis and Aris took advantage of it and was leading the score by 14-19 in the first quarter. Nikos Pappas entered the court and with a 10-0 run gave his team the scoring lead. Panathinaikos was keeping the lead from 15 points, 68-53, to 5 points, 74-69, and won the game. For Panathinaikos Nikos Pappas had 23 points, Jānis Blūms had 14 points, Vlantimir Giankovits had 9 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Esteban Batista made another double double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Barcelona hosted and beat Panathinaikos for Euroleague fifth day. Panathinaikos was not accurate in three pointers and made its second defeat in two away Euroleague games. Panathinaikos was competitive until 28-30, but Justin Doellman with 7 consecutive points gave Barcelona the lead by 43-33 and then his team rolled. Panathinaikos had a poor 2/20 three pointers and only 9 assists. For the winners Ante Tomic had 16 points and 10 rebounds, Juan Carlos Navarro and Brad Oleson had 12 points each. For Panathinaikos only Esteban Batista had more than 10 points and Diamantidis had 9 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists but 0/4 three pointers.

Panathinaikos hosted and beat Rethymno Aegean for Basket League fifth day. Rethymno Aegean finished the first quarter leading the score and troubled Panathinaikos until the end. Dimitris Diamantidis had 21 points, 5 assists, 4 steals, 3 rebounds. Esteban Batista finished the game with a double double, 13 points and 12 rebounds, plus five fouls drawn. Double double for Rethymno's Mouhammad Faye with 21 points and 13 rebounds. Vincent Council had 17 points, 5 assists and 4 rebounds, Chaisson Allen had 9 points, 8 rebounds and 8 fouls drawn. James Gist is returning to good games with 7 points, 6 assists and 5 rebounds. In his debut with Rethymno Fahro Alihodzic had 6 points, 2 assists, 1 rebound and 1 steal in 15 minutes. Panathinaikos continues undefeated in the League and Rethymno will keep the good game against the champions.

Panathinaikos beat Aries Trikala in Trikala for Basket League fourth day. Panathinaikos took the score lead from the first quarter. In the second quarter Panathinaikos created a difference of 15 points, 23-38, but Trikala made a 13-0 run, 36-38 and managed to finish the quarter only six points behind, 42-48. Trikala had 2/11 three pointers in the first half. Steve Panos finished the first half with 11 points and Diamantidis with 12 and 3/6 three pointers. In the second half Trikala attacked and Panathinaikos was not that tight in defense so the home team approached to two points, 54-56. Blums and Fotsis with three pointers secured the game for Panathinaikos that made a 13-3 run and the difference went up to 18 points, 60-78. For Aries Trikala Steve Panos had 14 points, Christos Deligiannis had 11 points and 5 rebounds and Nate Bowie had 9 assists. Mario Matalon had 7 assists and 4 points and Slaven Čupković had 13 points. For Panathinaikos Dimitris Diamantidis had 18 points, 4 rebounds and 7 assists. Panathinaikos beat Fenerbahçe Ülker for Euroleague third day

Panathinaikos hosted and beat Fenerbahçe Ülker for Euroleague third day. Panathinaikos players probably felt good with  Želimir Obradović in the court even as the opponent coach and had a great day. With 31 points in the first quarter and 59 in the half time Panathinaikos was unstopable. Panathinaikos finished first half with 2 team turnovers, 10/12 three pointers and 16 assists. AJ Slaughter had 17 points with 5/7 three pointers, Esteban Batista had 14 points with 6/7 field goals and Dimitris Diamantidis with his 6 assists reached 1005 total assists in Euroleague. In the second half it was natural that Panathinaikos would not continue in such high level but still broadened the difference in the third quarter. Only in the last quarter Fenerbahce with partial score 9-16 lowered the difference to 18 points. Panathinaikos had 18/26 three pointers, 25 assists and 16 turnovers (14 in the second half). Fenerbahce Ulker with 4/21 three pointers could not compete but with only 7 turnovers didn't let the score reach record levels. AJ Slaughter had 23 points with 7/10 three pointers, Antonis Fotsis had 4/4 three pointers, Janis Blums had 3/3 three pointers and Dimitris Diamantidis had 10 assists. Dimitris Diamantis needed one assist to break the 1.000 assists milestone and is now counting 1.009 assists in Euroleague.

Panathinaikos lost by Bayern Munich for Euroleague

Bayern Munich hosted and beat Panathinaikos for Euroleague. Panathinaikos started with a 6-0 in Bayern but the home team replied with a 9-0 and took the lead. In the second quarter Bayern created a difference of five pointe, 32-27, but Panathinaikos with an 8-0 run managed to finish the half time leading the score, 32-35. Esteban Batista had 12 points in the first half and Dusko Savanovic had 11 points. In the third quarter Panathinaikos improved in three pointers and created a difference of six points, 49-55, but the home team replied once more with an 8-1 run and made the score 57-56. Vlantimir Giankovits took back the lead for his team with 57-59 at the end of the third quarter. In the last quarter Panathinaikos was missing three pointers and Bayern built a difference, 68-61. AJ Slaughter with two assists and one shot helped his team to make a 5-0 run and approach to two points before Nihad Djedovic and Dusko Savanovic with a three pointer each made the score 76-68. Panathinaikos was trying to score with three pointers and was wasting its chances to win the game. With 8/32 three pointers Panathinaikos wasted a lot of shots and chances to win. For Bayern Munich Dusko Savanovic had 20 points, 6 rebounds and Nihad Djedovic had 14 points, 6 rebounds. For Panathinaikos Esteban Batista had 18 points, 7 rebounds and Vlantimir Giankovits had 17 points. Dimitris Diamantidis had 7 assists and reached 999 assists in Euroleague but didn't score since he had 0/6 three pointers and 0/2 field goals. Kolossos Rodou hosted Panathinaikos for Basket League second day. In the first quarter Panathinaikos made an 8-0 run from 10-8 to 10-16 but Kolossos with its own run managed to finish first quarter with equal score, 17-17. Zvonko Buljan scored 10 points out of his team's 17 points, with 3/3 three pointers, in the first quarter. Panathinaikos started second quarter with a 5-0 run. Panathinaikos created an 18 points difference in the second quarter which kept until the end. Kolossos Rodou had 3/20 field goald in the first half and Zvonko Buljan didn't score any more points after the first quarter. For Kolossos Rodou Mike James had 21 points and Taylor Smith had 9 points and 9 rebounds. For Panathinaikos Esteban Batista had 12 points and 9 rebounds while Vlantimir Giankovits had 12 points and 6 assists. Antonis Fotsis and Janis Blums scored 9 points each with 3 three pointers each.

Panathinaikos beat Turow Zgorzelec for Euroleague first day

Panathinaikos hosted and beat Turow Zgorzelec for Euroleague 2014-2015 first day. Panathinaikos is an experienced Euroleague team but this season started with fresh players. With Dimitris Diamantidis playing only for 15 minutes and scoring two points Panathinaikos would have faced problems in the previous years but now A.J. Slaughter and Nikos Pappas scored 16 points each and Esteban Batista, Jānis Blūms and Vlantimir Giankovits scored more than 10 points each. Julian Wright who debuted with Panathinaikos scored 4 points. For Turow Zgorzelec Mardy Collins, who had played many games against Panathinaikos in the previous season with Olympiacos, scored 23 points and Damian Kulig scored 17 points. Panathinaikos beat Nea Kifisia for Basket League first day

Panathinaikos hosted and beat Nea Kifisia for Basket League first day. Panathinaikos had only 8 players available due to injuries but faced no problems against Nea Kifisia. Esteban Batista made his first double double for the Basket League with 14 points and 10 rebounds, AJ Slaughter scored 18 points and Vlantimis Giankovits had 10 points and 9 rebounds. For Nea Kifisia Dimitris Mavroeidis had 9 points and 7 rebounds, Dimitris Tsaldaris scored 14 points and the experienced Michalis Kakiouzis scored 10 points.

Panathinaikos defeat Olympiacos for Greek Cup

Panathinaikos hosted and defeated Olympiacos for Greek Cup without fans attending the game. Panathinaikos started better and took the lead with 14-4 but Olympiacos balanced the game in the first quarter. In the second quarter the game was more balanced and the half time finished with score 33-32. Esteban Batista had 10 points and 6 rebounds in the first half. Olympiacos started the second half with a 13-0 run and took a lead of 12 points, 33-45. Antonis Fotsis scored after 4:50 without score for Panathinaikos and lowered the difference to 10 points, 35-45. The last quarter started with two three pointers for Panathinaikos and the difference down to five points, 55-60. Olympiacos replied with its own 6-0 run and the difference went back to ten points, 58-68. Panathinaikos with two free throws of Diamantidis approached to four points, 68-72, but Matt Lojeski with a three pointer and a turnover by Panathinaikos made the score 68-75 two minutes before the end. Panathinaikos tightened its defense and with a three pointer by Dimitris Diamantidis equalized the score 75-75 with 16 second remaining. Esteban Batista made a foul to Kostas Sloukas 8 seconds before the end but Sloukas scored only ony and made the score 75-76. In the last offense three players of Olympiacos played defense on Dimitris Diamantidis who passed the ball to Esteban Batista and dunked making the score 77-76 and giving his team a great victory!

Panathinaikos results at Gomelsky Cup

Panathinaikos participated at Gomelsky Cup and finished second with one victory against Nizhny Novgorod and one defeat against CSKA Moscow. For Panathinaikos Mavrokefalidis, Bochoridis, Fotsis were not available due to injuries and Blums debuted for his new team.
