Korivos Amaliadas signed Aleksandar Ćapin

Korivos Amaliadas signed Aleksandar Ćapin (Chapin). The 33 years old Slovenian-Serbian point guard will replace Vincent Council for the rest of the season. Korivos is the third team for Chapin in Greece, after playing for Panellinios in 2004 and Panionios in 2008. The experienced guard has played for many teams including Euroleague and Eurocup teams and a year ago he helped Buducnost to beat PAOK for Eurocup. Chapin has also played in Italy for Viola Reggio Calabria and Cimberio Varese, in Lithuania, Russia, Germany, Ukraine, Slovenia and he started this season in Bosnia for KK Igokea.

Rethymno Aegean beat AEK for Basket League twenty fourth day

Rethymno Aegean hosted and beat AEK for Basket League Greece 2014-2015 twenty fourth day. AEK was leading the score for 36 minutes but Rethymno with an 8-0 run in the last minutes (and the technical foul of Mensah-Bonsu, who was fouled out) stole the victory since Scottie Wilbekin missed the last shot. Rethymno Aegean had 2/13 three pointers, but also had ten more offensive rebounds (16-6) and only 8 team turnovers, while AEK had 13 missed free throws (17/30). Great game by Roeland Schaftenaar, with 27 points and 6 rebounds. The Dutch blocked Pops Mensah-Bonsu who collected 9 rebounds but scored only 6 points, made 5 turnovers before being fouled out. For Rethymno Faye had 9 points, 9 rebounds and 3 blocks, Vincent Council served 6 assists, Giannis Kalampokis had 17 points. For AEK Malik Hairston had 22 points and 7 fouls drawn, Dusan Sakota had 14 points, Carl English had 11 points with 1/5 three pointers, Wilbekin served 5 assists but did not pass the ball for the last crucial shot.

Rethymno Aegean beat Nea Kifisia for Basket League twenty second day

Rethymno Aegean hosted and beat Nea Kifisia for Basket League Greece 2014-2015 twenty second day. Nea Kifisia was leading the game in the first half. The visitors began with an 11-2 run but in the second half Vincent Council and Fanis Koumpouras balanced the score. Rethymno Aegean created a secure difference, 57-47. In the last seconds Nea Kifisia approached to 60-58, but could not steal the victory. For the winners Damian Hollis in his debut was the top scorer with 12 points (9/10 free throws). Faye had 0/5 three pointers but scored 8 points, collected 6 rebounds and served 4 assists. Roeland Schaftenaar collected 6 rebounds, Fanis Koumpouras scored 11 points. Vincent Council scored 12 points, won 7 fouls and made 5 turnovers. For Nea Kifisia Mavroeidis scored 16 points, Nikos Barlos collected 7 rebounds, and Nikos Liakopoulos served 7 assists. Nea Kifisia made 21 turnovers.

Rethymno Aegean hosted and beat Panelefsiniakos for Basket League Greece 2014-2015 twentieth day. Rethymno Aegean lost by Panathinaikos and Olympiacos but against Panelefsiniakos the team had better chances. With a 9-0 run in the beginning and 21-8 score in the first quarter, Rethymno dominated the game. The winners had only 4/14 three pointers and 4 offensive rebounds, but also had 25/46 two pointers and 23/31 free throws. Double double for Roeland Schaftenaar with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Vincent Council had 16 points and 7 assists, Mouhammad Faye scored 13 points and made 4 blocks, Travis Simpson scored 15 points. For Panelefsiniakos Nemaja Mitrovic had 19 points, Elijah Johnson had 7 points and 8 rebounds. Nikola Markovic made a double double with 11 points and 11 rebounds but had 2/13 field goals.

Panathinaikos beat Rethymno Aegean for Basket League Greece 2014-2015 eighteenth day. James Gist with many impressive dunaks and 19 points led Panathinaikos to an easy victory against Rethymno Aegean. Gist had 8/8 field goals and 1/2 free throws. Gani Lawal did not miss a shot and scored 8 points. For Panathinaikos Nikos Pappas scored 19 points, Dimitris Diamantidis served 8 assists, and Esteban Batista collected 6 rebounds. Batista also made 5 tunovers, out of 14 team total. For Rethymno Aegean Mouhammad Faye had 19 points and 5 rebounds, Dejan Kravic had 15 points, Roeland Schaftenaar collected 5 rebounds, and Vincent Council had 5 assists and 4 turnovers.

KAOD hosted and beat Rethymno Aegean for Basket League 2014-2015 fifteenth day. KAOD was counting three and Rethymno Aegean four defeats in a row before the game. For Rethymno Aegean Roeland Schaftenaar returned as the top scorer with 16 points, Vincent Council had 15 points and 6 assists, Mouhammad Faye had 8 rebounds and 6 points but 0/4 field goals. For the winners Rob Loe had 22 points, Obie Trotter had 14 points and 5 assists, Manolis Papamakarios had 8 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Rod Odom and Guy-Marc Michel had 8 points and 8 rebounds each.

Rethymno Aegean hosted and beat Kolossos Rodou for Basket League tenth day. Rethymno Aegean was third before the game and stayed in the top of the table. Kolossos Rodou had only nine players available but all of them scored and the team was leading the game in the first half. In the second half Rethymno Aegean with an 8-0 run started its counter attack until the final victory. Rethymno Aegean won a game that had 19/33 two pointers and 14/29 free throws but on the other hand Kolossos Rodou made 20 turnovers. For the winners Trevis Simpson had 12 points, Fahro Alihodzic had 12 points and 8 rebounds, Mouhammad Faye had 11 points and 8 rebounds, Vincent Council had 8 assists, 5 points and 4 rebounds. Vincent Council named MVP of Basket League 2014-2015 ninth day for his performance against Nea Kifisia. Council scored 22 points with 9/12 free throws, 5/9 two pointers, 1/3 three pointers, collected 4 rebounds, served 10 assists and had 11 fouls drawn in 34 minutes.

Rethymno Aegean beat Nea Kifisia for Basket League ninth day. Rethymno Aegean took early the lead with 8-19 and kept it until the end. Nea Kifisia's defence faced problems against Vincent council and Trevis Simpson. Rethymno Aegean made its sixth victory in nine games and have a great season until now. For Nea Kifisia Dimitris Mavroeidis had 16 points and 6 rebounds, Nikola Pešaković had 9 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists, Nikos Liakopoulos, Dimitris Tsaldaris and Michalis Kakiouzis had 8 points each. For Rethymno Aegean Vincent Council made a double double with 22 points and 10 assists! Retyhmno Aegean hosted and beat Apollon Patras for Basket League eighth day. In the first quarter Apollon Patras made a 9-0 run from 10-9 to 10-18 and finished it with two points lead, 21-23. Apollon Patras was leading the score in the second and third quarters but in the end Rethymno Aegean won the game leaving the visitors without any road win in the Basket League 2014-2015. For the winners Mouhammad Faye made a double double with 20 points and 13 rebounds. Complete performance by Vincent Council who had 17 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Chaisson Allen had 13 points, 8 rebounds, and Dejan Kravic had 15 points and 8 rebounds. For Apollon Patras Muhammad El-Amin had 27 points with 6/11 three pointers and 5 assists. Panelefsiniakos hosted Rethymno Aegean for Basket League seventh day. Rethymno started better the game and took the lead in score which it preserved in the second quarter. Both teams had 3/12 three pointers in the first half. The second half was balanced with each team scoring 22 points in the third and 18 points in the fourth quarter. Rethymno Aegean had 28/48 two points shots and won a game that did not have many three pointers. For Panelefsiniakos Elijah Johnson and Giannis Athanasoulas had 12 points each. Frank Robinson had 11 points and 4 assists. For the winners Vincent Council had 22 points, 7 assists and 6 rebounds. Dejan Kravic made a double double with 10 points and 10 rebounds while Giannis Sinis missed it with 9 points and 9 rebounds.

Olympiacos beat Rethymno Aegean in Rethymno for Basket League sixth day. The coach of Olympiacos Giannis Sfairopoulos was not at his bench due to illness. Olympiacos started the game with a 9-0 run but Rethymno managed to be competitive up to the end. The second and third quarters finished with the score difference below three points but in the fourth quarter Olympiacos allowed Rethymno to score only 5 points and won the game. Rethymno was poor at three pointers, 2/22 shots. For Olympiacos Bryant Dunston and Oliver Lafayette had 11 points each, Vangelis Mantzaris had 9 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists, Brent Petway had 7 rebounds and 5 blocks. For Rethymno Aegean Vincent Council had 16 points, Mouhammad Faye had 13 rebounds and 7 points, Trevis Simpson had 10 points.

Panathinaikos beat Rethymno Aegean for Basket League fifth day

Panathinaikos hosted and beat Rethymno Aegean for Basket League fifth day. Rethymno Aegean finished the first quarter leading the score and troubled Panathinaikos until the end. Dimitris Diamantidis had 21 points, 5 assists, 4 steals, 3 rebounds. Esteban Batista finished the game with a double double, 13 points and 12 rebounds, plus five fouls drawn. Double double for Rethymno's Mouhammad Faye with 21 points and 13 rebounds. Vincent Council had 17 points, 5 assists and 4 rebounds, Chaisson Allen had 9 points, 8 rebounds and 8 fouls drawn. James Gist is returning to good games with 7 points, 6 assists and 5 rebounds. In his debut with Rethymno Fahro Alihodzic had 6 points, 2 assists, 1 rebound and 1 steal in 15 minutes. Panathinaikos continues undefeated in the League and Rethymno will keep the good game against the champions.

Olympiacos beat Rethymno for Petros Oikonomakis tournament

Olympiacos beat Rethymno Aegean for Petros Oikonomakis friendly tournament. Olympiacos had a great day with 64% accuracy in three pointers. Rethymno Aegean had a great Faye with 15 points (4/5 three pointers), Council with 16 points and Koumpouras with 13 points (5/5 field goals). For Olympiacos Matt Lojeski had 21 points, Kostas Sloukas had 7 points and 9 assists, while Petway and Hunter dominated the rebounds.

Rethymno Aegean beat Nea Kifisia in friendly game. In another home friendly game for Nea Kifisia but this time could not win. For Rethymno Aegean Trevis Simpson scored 18 points and Giannis Sinis 20 points. For Nea Kifisia Nikos Liakopoulos scored 10 and Michalis Kakiouzis scored 12 points but all players scored.

Rethymno Aegean signed Vincent Council

Rethymno Aegean signed Vincent Council. The American guard is 1.88m high and graduated from Providence college where he had 15.9 points, 7.5 assists and 4.1 rebounds per game. Council played in Hapoel Tel Aviv in the previous season where he had 6.2, 3.1 and 1.7 assists per game.Council participated in the NBA Summer League 2013-2014 with Miami Heat.
