AEK signed Giannis Kalampokis

AEK signed Giannis Kalampokis. The 37 years old Greek guard penned an one year contract. Kalampokis started his professional career in A2 for Palaio Faliro and then moved to Olympiacos. He continued in AEK, PAOK, Panionios, Beneton Trevizo, Ikaros Kallitheas, PAOK, Alba Berlin, Kolossos Rodou and Rethymno. He is a player that improves with hard word, as a result he was first called in the Greek National Team at the age of 31, when he won the bronze medal in European Championship.

Olympiacos beat Trikala in friendly game

Olympiacos beat Trikala in a friendly game that took place in Metsovo. Dimitris Agravanis got a light injury and did not play. For Olympiacos DJ Strawberry had 14 points and 3 assists, while Giannis Kalampokis had 13 points with 3 three pointers. For Trikala Reger Dowell and Justin Robinson scored 13 points each.

Rethymno Aegean beat AEK for Basket League twenty fourth day

Rethymno Aegean hosted and beat AEK for Basket League Greece 2014-2015 twenty fourth day. AEK was leading the score for 36 minutes but Rethymno with an 8-0 run in the last minutes (and the technical foul of Mensah-Bonsu, who was fouled out) stole the victory since Scottie Wilbekin missed the last shot. Rethymno Aegean had 2/13 three pointers, but also had ten more offensive rebounds (16-6) and only 8 team turnovers, while AEK had 13 missed free throws (17/30). Great game by Roeland Schaftenaar, with 27 points and 6 rebounds. The Dutch blocked Pops Mensah-Bonsu who collected 9 rebounds but scored only 6 points, made 5 turnovers before being fouled out. For Rethymno Faye had 9 points, 9 rebounds and 3 blocks, Vincent Council served 6 assists, Giannis Kalampokis had 17 points. For AEK Malik Hairston had 22 points and 7 fouls drawn, Dusan Sakota had 14 points, Carl English had 11 points with 1/5 three pointers, Wilbekin served 5 assists but did not pass the ball for the last crucial shot.

Rethymno Aegean beat Apollon Patras for Basket League twenty first day

Rethymno Aegean beat Apollon in Patras for Basket League Greece 2014-2015 twenty first day. Rethymno Aegean made its second victory in a row and Apollon Patras another defeat. The visitors were more accurate and managed to create and early scoring lead, which they preserved until the end. For the home team Toarlyn Fitzpatrick had 16 points and 9 rebounds, Muhammad El-Amin had 10 points (3/10 f.g.) and 3 assists, Gaios Skordilis had 9 points. For the winners Mouhammad Faye made a double double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Giannis Kalampokis had 14 points, Fanis Koumpouras had 5 assists, Dejan Kravic had 9 points with 4/5 shots.

Rethymno Aegean beat Panionios for Basket League seventeenth day

Panionios hosted Rethymno Aegean for Basket League Greece 2014-2015 seventeenth day. Panionios wanted the victory but Rethymno Aegean had Giannis Kalampokis on fire! Kalampokis scored 28 points (5/9 3p, 7/8 ft), served 5 assists, collected 3 rebounds and had 6 fouls drawn. The game was tight in the first half but in the second Rethymno was keeping a secure difference. In the end Panionios tried but the visitors did not let the home team complete its counter attack. For the winners, besides Kalampokis, Mouhammad Faye made a double double with 12 points and 14 rebounds, Roeland Schaftenaar had 9 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists, and Dejan Kravic had 8 points and 7 rebounds. For Panionios Vasilis Xanthopoulos made his second double double with 11 points and 10 assists! William Coleman had 24 points and 5 rebounds, Yaroslav Korolev had 18 points, Dimitris Verginis had 16 points before being fouled out and Mackey McKnight in his debut scored one free throw and had 0/4 field goals. Bad result for Panionios that needs home wins in order to avoid relegation.

Aries Trikala beat Rethymno Aegean for Basket League twelfth day

Aries Trikala beat Rethymno Aegean for Basket League twelfth day. Aries Trikala with Alex Harris, Justin Ingram and Slaven Čupković won where only Olympiacos has won in this season. Rethymno Aegean was leading the first half but Aries Trikala made an 11-0 run in the third quarter and took the lead of the game. Aries Trikala have to stabilize their performance since they made such great victories but lose in less difficult games. For Rethymno Aegean Giannis Kalampokis had 18 points, Trevis Simpson had 17 points and 7 rebounds, Dejan Kravis had 13 points and 8 rebounds, Fanis Koumpouras had 6 points and 6 assists. Mouhammad Faye made another double double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. For the winners Alex Harris had 23 points in 21 minutes, Justin Ingram had 17 points and 6 assists, Slaven Čupković had 13 points and 5 rebounds, Steve Panos had 8 points and 9 rebounds.

Rethymno Aegean hosted and defeated Panelefsiniakos for Greek Basket League 20th day. Rethymno Aegean won for third consecutive home game and has avoided relegation, heading only up now. Callistus Eziukwu with 15 points and 9 rebounds, Luka Drča with 13 points and Derek Wright with 13 points and 10 rebounds were the best players for Rethymno Aegean. Kenny Gabriel scored 6 points and collected 10 rebounds. For Panelefsiniakos Mouhammad Faye had 26 points and 9 rebounds, Rob Jones had 16 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists.

Aris beat Rethymno Aegean for Greek League 17th day

Aris beat Rethymno Aegean for Greek Basket League 17th day. Both teams had their own good periods in a tight game. Rethymno Aegean was leading the score in the first quarter but Aris with good defense on Derek Wright and Justin Hurtt made their team shot 3/14 three pointers. Kenny Gabriel led his team in a counter attack in the third quarter but the game was tight until the end. Eziukwu and Wright missed to score in the end, Aris scored with free throws and won a crucial game before the Cup Final. For Aris Giannis Athinaiou had 16 points, Michalis Pelekanos 10 points and 8 rebounds. For Rethymno Aegean Giannis Kalampokis scored 23 points and Kenny Gabriel 15 points. Callistus Eziukwu made a double double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

PAOK defeated Rethymno Aegean for Greek League 16th day

PAOK hosted and defeated Rethymno Aegean for Greek Basket League 16th day. Rethymno Aegean started the game more offensive than PAOK and with Kalampokis, Koumpouras and Wright took the lead. PAOK managed to counter attack and took the lead for the rest of the game. PAOK was better in three pointers, 11/20 while Rethymno Aegean had only 6/19. Giorgos Bogris had 15 points and 7 rebounds, Mark Payne 12 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists, and DJ Cooper 7 points and 5 assists. For Rethymno Aegean Derek Wright scored 31 points, Giannis Kalampokis 21 points and Callistus Eziukwu 20 points.

Panionios defeated Rethymno Aegean for Greek League eleventh day

Panionios hosted and defeated Rethymno Aegean for Greek League eleventh day. Panionios with Errick McCollum and Marios Batis having a great game defeated Rethymno Aegean in the last game of 2013. Panionios had 10/25 three pointers against 4/23 of Rethymno Aegean. Marios Batis for Panionios and Kenny Gabriel for Rethymno Aegean finished the game with a double double. Batis scored 13 points and collected 13 rebounds, while Gabriel scored 11 points and collected 12 rebounds. For Rethymno Aegean three players scored 11 points each, Koumpouras, Kalampokis and Gabriel.

Apollon Patras defeated Rethymno in first day of Patras Cup

Apollon Patras defeated Rethymno with 78-70 in first day of Patras Cup.
It was the first victory for Apollon after one defeat from Panathinaikos and one from Panelefsiniakos and a third from Banvit. Quarters' score were 27-15, 38-37, 57-55, 78-70
For another game Bolds was the leading score for Apollon Patras and for Rethymno Pruitt with Latovic.

Kalampokis leaves Kollosos for Rethymno

Giannis Kalampokis, 34 years old shooting guard/forward, left the Kollosos Rodou (Rhodes) for Rethymno Aegean B.C. The experienced Greek player last year had an average of 11.1 points per game. Kalampokis has played in Germany with Alba Berlin, Italy with Trevizo and in Greece for many competitive clubs like Olympiacos, PAOK, AEK and Panionios.
