Panathinaikos sign Demetris Nichols

Panathinaikos sign Demetris Nichols. The 32 years old American forward penned an one year contract. Nichols graduated from Syracuse and was taken in the second round (53rd overall) by the Portland Trail Blazers in the 2007 NBA Draft. Nichols started his career with Cleveland Cavaliers, but moved to the NBA D-League for Iowa Energy. He returned to the NBA for the Chicago Bulls and after another contract with Iowa Energy he returned to the NBA for the New York Knicks. In 2009 Nichols moved to France for BCM Gravelines-Dunkerque, where he also played for JA Vichy Basket and Cholet Basket. In 2012 he moved to the Dominican Republic for Metros de Santiago. After another contract in the NBA D-League with Sioux Falls Skyforce Nichols moved to Russia for Krasnye Krylia. In 2014 Nichols moved to CSKA Moscow where he played in two Euroleague Final Fours and won one Euroleague Championship in the previous season.

AEK signed Dionte Christmas

AEK signed Dionte Christmas. The 29 years old American guard was officially announced by the club and returns to Greece after 2011-2012 season when he was the top league scorer. Christmas graduated from Temple Owls and went undrafted in the 2009 NBA Draft. He started his professional career in Israel for Hapoel Afula, then played some games in Turkey for Mersin, Czech Republic for Nymburk and in Greece for PAOK. In 2011-2012 he played 26 games with Rethymno Aeagen averaging 18.6 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3 assists. His performance gave him a contract with the Boston Celtics from July until October, in CSKA Moscow for couple months and he finished the season in Italy for Montepaschi Siena. In 2014 Christmas returned to the NBA for Phoenix Suns but then moved to France for Paris-Levallois. This season Christmas played four pre-season games with Cleveland Cavaliers, then moved to Israel for Hapoel Holon and now he will finish the season in Greece with AEK.

Yaroslav Igorevich Korolev is 2.08m high and plays as forward. He was picked in No 12 of 2005 NBA Draft by Los Angeles Clippers and has played for Avtodor Saratov, CSKA Moscow, Los Angeles Clippers, Dynamo Moscow, Albuquerque Thunderbirds, Reno Bighorns, Granada, Lagun Aro and Spartak Saint Petersburg.

Panathinaikos results at Gomelsky Cup

Panathinaikos participated at Gomelsky Cup and finished second with one victory against Nizhny Novgorod and one defeat against CSKA Moscow. For Panathinaikos Mavrokefalidis, Bochoridis, Fotsis were not available due to injuries and Blums debuted for his new team.

CSKA Moscow beat Panathinaikos for Nick Galis Cup

CSKA Moscow beat Panathinaikos for Nikos Galis Cup. Dimitris Itoudis coached CSKA against a team that spend more than a decade, Lefteris Bochoridis returned to Alexandrio after his transfer to Panathinaikos. Panathinaikos could win the game but in the last offense CSKA scored 4 points with a goal foul and stole the victory. For CSKA Moscow Aaron Jackson had 16 points, Vitaly Fridzon had 13 points and Andrey Vorontsevich had 9 rebounds. For Panathinaikos Esteban Batista had 11 points and 6 rebounds, Nikos Pappas had 11 points and Vlantimir Giankovits had 10 points.

Apollon Patras' friendly games with CSKA Moscow and Panathinaikos

Apollon Patras arragned friendly games with CSKA Moscow and Panathinaikos in Karpenisi where the team will prepare for the new season. On 29th August Apollon will play against Panathinaikos and on 14th September will play against CSKA Moscow. Apollon will probably organize Patras Cup friendly tournament on 10th and 11th September if the team has not games for the Greek Cup.

1st International Nick Galis Cup

Aris BC announced the 1st International Nick Galis Cup that will take place in Thessaloniki on 20 and 21 September 2014. Aris, Panathinaikos, CSKA Moscow and Banvit Basketbol Kulübü will be the four clubs that will participate. Aris will celebrate 100 years of sports history.

CKSA Moscow beat Panathinaikos for Euroleague Play Offs round 2

CKSA Moscow hosted and defeated Panathinaikos for Euroleague Play Offs round 2. The second victory of CSKA was much easier than the first one. The 51 points that Panathinaikos scored was a record low for the team in Euroleague. Another negative record for Panathinaikos in the Euroleague broke in this game with the 26 points difference that the team lost. For Panathinaikos only Ukić had two digits score while Dimitris Diamantidis didn't score in the game. Sonny Weems scored 23 points and Micov scored 12 points. Victor Khryapa had 11 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 points. CSKA Moscow doubled its victories against Panathinaikos for Euroleague Play Offs.

CSKA beat Panathinaikos in overtime for Euroleague Play Offs round 1

CSKA Moscow hosted and beat Panathinaikos Athens for Euroleague Play Offs round 1. The home team was leading the game in the first half but Panathinaikos balanced the game and took the lead in the last quarter. Panathinaikos couldn't win the game and Diamantidis didn't score in the last offense so the game went to over time. In over time Panathinaikos didn't score again in the last offense and lost a tight game and the chance to break CSKA's advantage.
Quarters' scores: 21-14, 40-33, 58-56, 72-72. Over time: 77-74
