Nikos Oikonomou is Panionios new coach

Nikos Oikonomou is Panionios' new coach. The 43 years old Greek coach will try to lead Panionios back to the Basket League, since the club was relegated to B League due to financial problems. Oikomomou played basketball in Ionikos Nikaias, Panathinaikos, Kinder Bologna, Olympiacos, Barcelona, Olympia Larisas, Dynamo Moscow, Panionios and Panellinios. As a coach he has worked for Spata (Local), Ionikos Neas Filadelfeias (C League), Olympiada Patron (A2 League), Ikaroi Serron, Livadia (A2 League) and Ionikos Nikaias. Oikonomou has also worked as the assistant coach of Thanasis Skourtopoulos in Panionios.

Kymi released Pantelis Settos

Kymi released its captain Pantelis Settos. Settos joined Kymi in 2011 and had since then celebrated six consecutive promotions with the team, from the local league to Basket League, but he will not play in the top league with Kymi. The newly promoted team of Kymi has already released six players, Lolas, Gizogiannis, and Arapis, Papantoniou, Kakiouzis and Skouloudis.

Olympiacos signed Khem Birch

Olympiacos signed Khem Xavier Birch. The 23 years old Canadian graduated from UNLV (University of Nevada, Las Vegas), and he went undrafted in the 2014 NBA Draft. Birch started his professional career in NBA D-League with Sioux Falls Skyforce and in the next year he moved to Turkey for Uşak Sportif, where he averaged 10.5 points and 9.1 rebounds per game, in 32 games played in the Turkish Super League. Birch penned a two years, €1.1 million euros net income contract with the Greek Champions.

Milan Milošević renews with AEK

Milan Milošević renews with AEK. The 30 years old Bosnian forward renewed his contract and will remain with the club for a third season, as he renewed his first contract a year ago.

Rethymno and Schizas parted ways

Rethymno Cretan Kings and Stavros Schizas parted ways. The 27 years old Greek guard joined Rethymno two years ago and in the last season he averaged 4.35 points and 2.27 rebounds in 15 minutes per game.

Batis renews with Faros

Marios Batis renews with Faros Keratsiniou. The 36 years old Greek guard counts 309 games in Basket League Greece with Panionios, Iraklio, Olympia Larisas, Marousi and Apollon Patras, and helped Faros to get promoted in the League in its first year in A2 League.

Kymi released Lolas and Gizogiannis

Kymi released Dimitris Lolas and Sokratis Gizogiannis, following the release of four player one day ago. Both players joined Kymi in 2014 and celebrated two promotions in a row with the club, from B League to Basket League Greece.

AEK signed Mike Dixon

AEK signed Michael "Mike" Dixon Jr.. The 26 years old American Georgian guard played in college for the Missouri Tigers and graduated from the University of Memphis where he played for the Memphis Tigers. Dixon went undrafted in the 2014 NBA Draft and started his professional career in Lithuania for Dzūkija, but finished the season with Pieno žvaigždės. In the next season Dixon played in the Czech Republic for ČEZ Nymburk, where he won the domestic championship, while averaging 14.3 points, 2.7 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.4 steals in 31 games in the VTB League. Dixon has gained the Georgian citizenship in order to play for the national team of Georgia.

Nikos Liakopoulos and Vangelis Karampoulas renew with Faros. The team announced that the two Greek players will continue with the team.

Kymi released four players. The newly promoted club and its coach Vasilis Bratsiakos decided to continue without Dimitris Papantoniou, Giannis Kakiouzis, Dimitris Arapis and Stelios Skouloudis.

Kostas Mexas renews with Apollon Patras. The 39 years old Greek coach replaced Thanasis Papachatzis and the team board is happy with his work. Mexas signed an 1+1 years contract.

Demarius Bolds renews with Lavrio

Demarius Bolds renews with Lavrio. The 32 years old American will play his third season in Greece, after one season with Apollon Patras and one with Lavrio. Bolds signed with Lavrio in December and helped his team to avoid relegation. In 16 games Bolds averaged 15.94 points, 3.69 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.5 steals.

Charis Giannopoulos renews with Rethmyno Cretan Kings

Charis Giannopoulos renews with Rethmyno Cretan Kings. The 27 years old Greek forward signed with Rethymno one year ago and helped his team enter the Basket League Play Offs. Giannopoulos averaged 8.2 points and 4.1 rebounds in 26 minutes per game.

Faros and Papamakarios parted ways

Faros Keratsiniou and Manolis Papamakarios parted ways. After a successful year Faros and Papamakarios mutually agreed to part ways. Faros signed Papamakarios a year ago, while the player had many offers from Basket League teams and Faros played in A2 League. The experienced player helped his team get the promotion for the Basket League, and also participate in the Greek Cup Final.

AEK signed Josh Owens

AEK signed Josh Owens. The 27 years old American forward graduated from Stanford, and he went undrafted in the 2012 NBA Draft. Owens started his career in the NBA D-League with the Idaho Stampede, and in the next year he moved to Israel for Hapoel Tel Aviv. In the last two years he played in Italy for Dolomiti Energa Trento and Umana Reyer Venezia.

AEK signed Kostas Vasileiadis

AEK signed Kostas Vasileiadis. This will be the third Greek team for the 32 years old guard/forward. Vasileiadis started his career from PAOK and has also played for Olympiacos in 2007-2008. He has played for Baloncesto Malaga, Obradoiro, Bilbao, and Unicaja Malaga in Spain. A year ago Vasileiadis returned to Greece and PAOK, and he was the second top scorer of PAOK averaging 14.7 points per game. AEK was searching for a scorer from the Greek League, with its first target being Vlado Jankovic, but the young player prefers to talk with his current team first. Vasileiadis will get 250.000 euros per season.

Vasilis Spanoulis renews with Olympiacos

Vasilis Spanoulis renews with Olympiacos. Spanoulis renewed his contract for two more years, until 2018, when he will complete eight years with the Greek champions. In the last six years with Olympiacos Spanoulis has won two Euroleague Championships, two Euroleague Final Four MVP titles, three Greek Championships and one Greek Cup.

Saloustros renews with Kolossos

Saloustros renews with Kolossos. The 26 years old Greek forward renewed his contract with Lavrio for one more year. Saloustros left Panionios and signed a three years contract with PAOK in 2014 but he did not have game time so he moved to Kolossos a year ago.

Lavrio signed Jito Kok

Lavrio signed Jito Kok. The 22 years old Dutch graduated from San Diego where he played for the San Diego Toreros, averaging 7.3 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game in his last season.

AEK signed Nikola Ivanović

AEK signed Nikola Ivanović (Никола Ивановић). The 22 years old Montenegrin player penned a three years contract with AEK. Ivanovic started his career in Mornar Bar and then moved to Budućnost Podgorica. In the last year he played for Mega Leks, where he won the Serbian Cup and was named MVP of the competition.

Vasilis Simtsak renews with Aris

Vasilis Simtsak renewed his contract with Aris. The 35 years old Greek center played 61 games with Aris in the Basket League 2015-2016 averaging 2.35 points, 2.23 rebounds in 13 minutes per game, but besides his numbers he is a valuable player for his coach and always in his selections. Simtsak has played for Doukas, Sporting, AEK, PAOK, Trikala, Ikaros and Panionios, and he renewed his contract a year ago.

Jawad Williams agreed terms with AEK

Jawad Williams agreed terms with AEK. The 33 years old American forward graduated from North Carolina and was not selected in the 2005 NBA Draft.  Williams started his career in Spain for Baloncesto Fuenlabrada, continued in the NBA Development League for Fayetteville Patriots and Anaheim Arsenal, in Japan for Rera Kamuy Hokkaido, Israel for Hapoel Galil Elyon, and back to NBA D-League for Rio Grande Valley Vipers. He played three years for Hapoel Jerusalem and two years for Pınar Karşıyaka. In the last season he played in Turkey for Royal Halı Gaziantep. He has played in the NBA for Cleveland Cavaliers in 2008-2009.

Spyros Mourtos renews with Aris. The Greek captain of Aris played 26 games in Basket League 2015-2016 averaging 5.69 points in 20 minutes per game, and a total of 52 games with the club this season, averaging 5.1 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. The 25 years Greek guard started his career in Aris in 2008 and has also played two years on loan to OFI Crete and Ikaroi Serron.

Coach Lykogiannis renews with Kolossos Rodou

Aris Lykogiannis renews with Kolossos Rodou. The Greek coach helped Kolossos enter the Basket League Play offs for second year in a row and the team is pleased with his work. Lykogiannis has worked as a head coach in Ikaros Chalkidas, and was signed by Kolossos in 2014, renewing his contract a year ago.

Kostas Flevarakis agreed terms with Rethymno Cretan Kings

Kostas Flevarakis agreed terms with Rethymno Cretan Kings. The Greek coach joined the club from Rethymno after two successful seasons with Trikala, replacing Thanasis Skourtopoulos. Flevarakis renewed his contract twice with Trikala, with only one break for the Polish play offs with AZS Koszalin.
Rethymno also announced Giorgos Koumoulos as its new technical manager.

Williams and Hunter parted ways with Panathinaikos

Williams and Hunter parted ways with Panathinaikos. The Americans joined Panathinaikos for Euroleague Top 16 and Basket League Play Offs. Elliot Williams made a great beginning with the team but played less with coach Pedoulakis. Williams played 6 games in the regular season and 11 for the plays offs, averaging 11.5 points, 2 rebounds, 1.8 assists in 21 minutes per game.
Hunter played 5 games in the regular season and 9 for the play offs, averaging 2.86 points, 3.29 rebounds in 9 minutes per game.

Both players left the team with a message on instagram about the fans.
