Aris sign Michael Jenkins

Aris sign Michael Jenkins. The 30 years old American guard penned a two years contract. Jenkins graduated from Winthrop University, where he won the Big South Championship with the Winthrop Eagles. Jenkins joined Oklahoma City Thunder for seven pre-season games in 2014 and then he moved to Oklahoma CityBlue in the NBA D-League. In 2009 Jenkins moved to Montenegro for Buducnost, and a year later to Belgium for Liege. In 2011 he moved to Italy for Brescia and a year later to Pallacanestro Cantu. In the last two seasons Jenkins played in Turkey, in the first season for Istanbul Buyuksehir Belediyesi and in the last season Turk Telekom. With Turk Telekom he averaged 13.6 points and 4 rebounds per game.

Giorgos Dedas retires and joins AEK technical crew

Giorgos Dedas retires and joins AEK technical crew. The 36 years old Greek forward announced that he retires from professional basketball and will start his coaching career with AEK and coach Jurij Zdovc. Coach started his career with MENT and had also played for Iraklis, Breogan Lugo, Beirasar Rosalia, Caceres, PAOK and Rethymno. In Iraklis Dedas had worked with coach Zdovc, who has also worked with George's brother Stefanos.

Panionios sign Sotiris Billis

Panionios sign Sotiris Billis. The 19 years old Greek guard returns to Panionios after a season with Kolossos Rodou. Billis started his career from Panionios youth teams, where he won the Greek U16 and U18 Championships. He penned a professional contract with Panionios and played 14 games with the team in Basket League Greece 2014-2015. In the previous season Panionios was relegated to B League (third tier) and Billis moved to Kolossos Rodou where he played 18 games. Billis is a member of the Greece U18 and U20 national teams.

Aris sign Vasilis Kavvadas. The 25 years old Greek center penned a two years contract with Aris. Kavvadas started his career with Ionikos Nikaias and has also played for Panionios and Olympiacos. In the previous season Kavvadas played on loan to Arkadikos.

PAOK sign Darryl Bryant

PAOK sign Darryl Bryant. The 26 years old American guard graduated from West Virginia, where in his senior year he averaged 16.9 points, 2.7 assists and 1.4 steals in 37 minutes per game. Bryant went undrafted in the 2013 NBA Draft and started his career in Austria for BSC Raiffeisen Panthers, where he averaged 18.1 points, 3.7 assists and 2.4 rebounds per game. After a season in Austria Bryant moved to Czech Republic for BC Kolin, where he played 24 games and averaged 19.5 points and 4.3 assists per game. In the previous season Bryant played in Italy's Liga Due for Mens Sana Basket 1871 Siena.

Kymi signed Juan'ya Green

Kymi signed Juan'ya Green. The 24 years old American guard graduated from Hofstra University where he played for Hofstra Pride. In his senior year Green averaged 17.8 points, 7.1 assists and 4.4 rebounds per game. Green has also played for Niagara Purple Eagles. Although Green was named CAA Player of the Year (2016), he went undrafted in the 2016 NBA Draft. In his rookie season Green will try to help the newly promoted team of Kymi avoid relegation.

Rethymno sign Thomas Kottas. The 20 years old Greek center penned a two years contract with Rethymno. Kottas started his career with PAOK and in 2013 he penned his first professional contract. In the last season he played 21 games with PAOK averaging 1.76 points and 1.1 rebounds in 5.29 minutes per game. He is a member of the Greece U20 national team and has also played for the U19 and U18 teams.

Apollon Patras sign Tyler Kalinoski. The 24 years old American guard penned an one year contract. Kalinoski graduated from Davidson where he played for the Davidson Wildcats. Kalinoski went undrafted in the 2015 NBA draft and started his professional career in France for Élan Chalon, averaging 7.1 points and 1.5 assists per game.

Rethymno sign Dejan Kravic

Rethymno Cretan Kings sign Dejan Kravic. The 26 years old Serbian center penned a two years contract. Kravic graduated from Texas Tech and in 2014 he joined Rethmyno where he played 29 games, averaging 6.48 points and 4.69 rebounds in 16.39 minutes per game. In the last season Kravic played in the Netherlands for Den Bosch, winning the Dutch Cup and also playing 5 games for the Europe Cup.

Aris sign Will Cummings

Aris sign Will Cummings. The 24 years old American guard graduated from Temple University, where he played for Temple Owls averaging 14.8 points, 4.2 assists and 1.9 steals per game in his senior year. Cummings went undrafted in the 2015 NBA Draft and started his career in NBA D-League with Rio Grande Valley Vipers. He was named All-NBA D-League Second Team (2016), NBA D-League All-Rookie Team (2016), and NBA D-League All-Star (2016). In 49 games with Rio Grande Valley Vipers Cummings averaged 20.47 points, 3.59 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game.
In April 2016 Cummings joined Dolomiti Energia Trento for the rest of the season, playing four game and averaging 9.5 points and 2.2 rebounds per game.

Rethymno sign Robert Arnold

Rethymno Cretan Kings sign Robert Arnold. The 28 years old American forward graduated from Boise State where he played for the Boise State Broncos averaging 12.06 points and 4.38 rebounds in his last year. Arnold started his professional career in Austria for Swans Gmunden, and after two seasons he moved to Finland for Namika Lahti and Joensuun Kataja. With Joensuun Kataja he won the Finnish Championship and he was named MVP of the League, averaging 22.3 points, 5.28 rebounds and 2.78 assists per game.
In the last season Arnold played in Belgium for Belfius Mons-Hainaut, averaging 14.16 points, 3.38 rebounds and 1.91 assists per game.

Kolossos sign Hall Langston

Kolossos Rodou sign Hall Langston. The 25 years old American guard graduated from Mercer University and started his career in Italy with Giorgio Tesi Pistoia. Langston has also played in Spain for Pallacanestro Cantù and in Germany for Telekom Baskets Bonn. In Germany in 15 games Langston averaged 4.3 points, 4.1 assists and 1.7 rebounds per game.

Kymi sign Vangelis Tzolos

Kymi sign Vangelis Tzolos. The 25 years old Greek guard started his career with AEK, and has also played for Filathlitikos and Ikaros Kallitheas. Tzolos is the first Greek to sign a contract with Kymi for Basket League Greece 2016-2017.

Rethymno sign Evaldas Zabas

Rethymno Cretan Kings sign Evaldas Žabas. The 28 years old Canadian Lithuanian guard penned a two years contract with Rethymno. Žabas graduated from St. Michaels College School of Toronto and started his professional career in Germany for Eisbären Bremerhaven. After a year in Germany he moved to England where he played for Worcester Wolves, Worthing Thunder and Plymouth Raiders. In 2011 he moved to Sweden for Jämtland Basket and a year later he moved to Czech Republic for Jip Pardubice. In 2013 Žabas returned to Canada for Orangville A’s, but only for one season as he moved to Lithuania and BC Lietkabelis a year later. In the last season Žabas played in Estonia for Tartu Ülikool/Rock, where in 32 games he averaged 16.5 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game.

Rethymno sign Andreas Christodoulou

Rethymno Cretan Kings sign Andreas Christodoulou. The 21 years old Greek Cypriot penned a two years contract. Christodoulou started his career with AEL Lemesou and after a season he moved to APOEL. In 2012 he moved to Greece for Mantoulidis and a year later he was signed by Olympiacos. In the previous season Christodoulou was on a loan to Korivos Amaliadas, where he played 22 games averaging 3.95 points and 1.59 rebounds in 13 minutes per game. In 2014 Christodoulou got a Greek passport and became a member of Greece U20 national team.

Apollon Patras sign Giorgos Diamantakos

Apollon Patras sign Giorgos Diamantakos. The 21 years old Greek center started his career from Spartiatikos and in 2012 he moved to Panathinaikos. In 2015 he moved to Turkey for Darüşşafaka and then went on loan to Kifisia. Apollon Patras had agreed terms with the player in November 2015, but due to transfer regulations this transfer was cancelled and the player moved to Croatia for GKK Šibenik.  He is a member of Greece U16, U18 and U20 national teams.

PAOK sign Andreas Glyniadakis. The 35 years old Greek center penned an one year contract. Glyniadakis started his professional career with Panathinaikos and has played for Panellinios, Peristeri, AEK, Maroussi and Olympiacos in Greece. He has won Euroleague twice, in 2000 with Panathinaikos and 2012 with Olympiacos. Glyniadakis was selected by the Detroit Pistons with the 58th pick in the 2003 NBA Draft, and has played 13 games in the NBA with Seattle SuperSonics and in the NBA D-League with Roanoke Dazzle and Albuquerque Thunderbirds. In Europe he has also played in Kazakhstan with Astana, in Lithuania with Lietuvos Rytas, in Turkey with Royal Halı Gaziantep, and in Switzerland for Lions de Genève. In the last season Glyniadakis played for Kifisia averaging 9.5 points, 4.10 rebounds per game.

Keith Clanton renews with PAOK

Keith Clanton renews with PAOK. The 25 years old American forward/center played seven games with PAOK for Basket League Greece 2015-2016, averaging 7.86 points, 7.14 rebounds and 1.71 assists per game. Clanton was named MVP of the 26th day for his performance against Kavala (12 points, 13 rebounds, 3 blocks, 3 assists and 1 steal).

Brandon Young renews with Lavrio

Brandon Young renews with Lavrio. The 25 years old American agreed terms and renewed his contract with Lavrio for one more season. Young averaged 12.1 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game with Lavrio in Basket League 2015-2016.

Apollon Patras sign Diamantis Slaftsakis

Apollon Patras sign Diamantis Slaftsakis. The 22 years old Greek forward penned a two years contract. Slaftsakis will work again with coach Mexas, with the two having worked together in KAOD for two seasons. Slaftsakis started his career with Chalkidona and moved to Mantoulidis. In 2012 he signed with KAOD and in the last season he played for Korivos Amalidas, averaging 4.3 points and 2.5 rebounds per game.

Rethymno agreed terms with Tony Konstantinides

Rethymno Cretan Kings agreed terms with Tony Konstantinides. The 42 years old Cypriot coach penned an one year contract, replacing coach Flevarakis that parted ways with the team. Konstantinides was the head coach of ETHA Engomis from 2008 until 2012, leading the team to two Cypriot Championships, one Cypriot Cup and one Super Cup. He moved to APOEL in 2012 and won the championship again in 2014. In 2014 he moved to Romania for Energia Rovinari and in the last season he was coaching Sigal Prishtina. With Prishtina Konstantinides won the Kosovan Championship and Cup, and the Balkan League. In 2012 he was the head coach of the Cyprus national team and since March 2016 he is the head coach of the Albania national team.

PAOK sign Zanis Peiners

PAOK sign Zanis Peiners. The 26 years old Latvian player penned an one year contract. Peiners started his career with VEF Riga and continued with LU Latvijas Universitate. In 2013 Peiners was the top scorer of the Latvian League with 21.1 points per game, leading his team to the League Play Offs. In 2013 Peiners moved to Ukraine for MBC Mykolaiv, where he became the top scorer of the Ukrainian League with 16.1 points per game. In the last two years Peiners returned to Latvia for Ventspils, averaging 7.9 points, 2.88 rebounds and 2 assists per game in the last season.

Promitheas sign Eli Carter. The 25 years old American guard graduated from Boston College. Carter averaged 16 points, 4 assists and 3.9 rebounds in 31 games. Promitheas will be his first professional contract and the first time Carter will play overseas.

Lavrio sign Kevin Punter

Lavrio sign Kevin Punter. The 23 years old American guard played two seasons with Tennessee Volunteers, averaging 22.2 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 34 minutes per game in his last season. In February Punter suffered from a stress fracture at his right leg, but he fully recovered and participated in the 2016 Minnesota Timberwolves Summer Camp.

Apollon Patras sign Michael Cobbins. The 24 years old American forward graduated from Oklahoma State and went undrafted in the 2015 NBA Draft. Cobbins played for the  Oklahoma City Blue in the NBA D-League in the previous season. The player penned an one year contract.

PAOK lands Jordan Sibert

PAOK lands Jordan Sibert. The 23 years old American guard graduated from Dayton where he played for the Dayton Flyers. Sibert went undrafted in the 2015 NBA Draft and joined the Orlando Magic for the Orlando Summer League. He signed with the Orlando Magic but only appeared in 5 preseason games before being waved. Sibert then moved to the Erie BayHawks of the NBA D-League. He played 44 games with the Erie BayHawks, averaging 131. points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game.

Korivos sign Ken Brown

Korivos sign Kendrick Shama «Ken» Brown. The 27 years old American guard graduated from Philander Smith College and went undrafted in the 2012 NBA Draft. Brown started his career in Latvia with Jūrmala, and has also played in Sweden for Norrköping Dolphins, in Poland for MKS Dąbrowa Górnicza, in the Netherlands for Donar Groningen, and in Lithuania for Lietuvos Rytas. With Donar Groninger Brown has recorded a triple double against BS Weert, with 18 points, 17 assists and 10 rebounds.

In 21 games with AEK for Basket League Greee 2015-2016 Sarikopoulos averaged 2.29 points and 2.43 rebounds in 8 minutes per game.

Promitheas sign Mouhammad Faye

Promitheas Patras sign Mouhammad Faye. For Faye this will be his fourth team in Basket League Greece, since he has played for Ikaros Kallitheas, Panelefsiniakos and Rethymno. The 31 years old Senegalese player counts 79 games in Basket League averaging 11.78 points and 8 rebounds per game. In the previous season Faye played 21 games with Varese in Italy, averaging 9.33 points and 7.86 rebounds per game.

Rethmyno and Flevarakis parted ways

Rethmyno Cretan Kings and coach Kostas Flevarakis parted ways almost one month after they had agreed terms. Flevarakis did not coach Rethymno in an official game and the team did not announce the reason of this decision.

Kymi signed Musa Abdul-Aleem

Kymi signed Musa Abdul-Aleem, who became the first American player in the history of Kymi BC. The 28 years old American guard graduated from Troy University and went undrafted in the 2015 NBA Draft. In the previous season Abdul-Aleem played in Venezuela for Trotamundos, where he averaged 14.84 points, 3.95 rebounds and 1.32 assists in 27 minutes per game.

Olympiacos signed Erick Green

Olympiacos signed Erick O'Brien Green. The 25 years old American guard penned a two years contract with the Greek champions. Green graduated from Virginia Tech where he played for the Virginia Tech Hokies. In 2013, Green was selected by the Utah Jazz with the 46th overall pick in the 2013 NBA draft.
He started his professional career in Italy for Montepaschi Siena where he played for a year before returning to the USA and the NBA for the Denver Nuggets. In January 2015 he moved to the Fort Wayne Mad Ants and the NBA D-League, where he played in the next season too for the Reno Bighorns. On February 2016 he signed a ten day contract with the Utah Jazz. Green was named All-NBA D-League First Team (2016) and NBA D-League All-Star (2016).

Olympiacos (W) signed Erlana Larkins

Olympiacos (W) signed Erlana Larkins. The 30 years old American forward graduated from North Carolina and was picked by New York Liberty in the 14th overall place of the 2008 WNBA Draft. Larkins played two years for the New York Liberty and then moved to Indiana Fever. Larkins played four seasons for Indiana Fever and won the WNBA 2011-2012 championship. She has played overseas for Samsun BK, Adana ASKI and Mersin BSB in Turkey, Jiangsu Phoenix in China and PF Schio in Italy. With PF Schio Larkins won the Italian Championship and Cup in 2014.

Verginis renews with Apollon

Dimitris Verginis renews with Apollon Patras for two more years. The 29 years old Greek guard joined Apollon in August 2015. Verginis averaged 10.4 points, 2.5 assists and 2.2 rebounds per game with Apollon. Verginis started his career with PAOK and has also played for Panathinaikos, Aris, Bilbao, Lukoil Academic and Panionios.

PAOK and Markovic parted ways

PAOK and Nikola Markovic parted ways. The 27 years old Serbian forward agreed terms with PAOK one year ago and played 28 games for Basket League Greece. Markovic averaged 7.18 points and 5.04 rebounds in the last season. Markovic has also played for KAOD and Panelefsiniakos in Greece.

Kolossos signed Jesse Chuku


Kolossos signed Jesse Chuku. The 23 years old British forward graduated from Lehigh where he played three seasons for the Lehigh Mountain Hawks. In his last season Chuku averaged 9.6 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 32 games. Chuku has played for the Great Britain Under-20 National Team.

Promitheas signed Nikos Gikas

Promitheas signed Nikos Gikas. The 26 years old Greek guard played 28 games with Kifisia for Basket League 2015-2016, averaging 7.82 points and 3.93 assists per game. Gikas has also played for Filathlitikos and Aris in Greece and Ventspils in Latvia.

Kymi signed Slaven Čupković

Kymi signed Slaven Čupković. The newly promoted team of Kymi will be the third Greek team for Čupković. The 28 years old Serbian forward started his career in Mašinac Kraljevo and came to Greece in 2014 for Trikala. With Trikala he averaged 12.4 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. One year later Čupković moved to Aris.

Korivos and Markopoulos part ways

Korivos Amaliadas and Charis Markopoulos part ways. The 34 years old Greek coach became the head coach of Korivos in its first year in Basket League Greece. Markopoulos managed to keep the team in the first tier, so the team board renewed his contract for one more year. Korivos played 54 games with Markopoulos in the Basket League Greece, with a total record of 19 wins and 35 defeats.

Elias Papatheodorou is Astana's new coach

Elias Papatheodorou is Astana's new coach. The 41 years old Greek coach parted ways with Kifisia after 9 years. Papatheodorou led Kifisia to the Basket League Play Offs. This will be the first time Papatheodorou will word abroad.

Faros Keratsiniou signed Kostas Kakaroudis

Faros Keratsiniou signed Kostas Kakaroudis. The 33 years old Greek forward will play for Faros in the A2 League, after parting ways with PAOK. Kakaroudis started his career from Astrapi Ilioupolis and has also played for Aris, Thermaikos, KAOD, Ionikos Lamias, Panorama, Rethymno, Olympiada Patron, Ikaroi Serron, and in Romania for Energia Rovinari. In March 2014 he returned to Greece and played for Kolossos Rodou, and later that year he moved to PAOK where he played for two seasons.

Panathinaikos sign Chris Singleton

Panathinaikos sign Christopher Carl Singleton, Jr.. The 27 years old American forward penned an 1+1 years contract with the greens. Singleton graduated from Florida State and was selected by the Washington Wizards with the 18th overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft. He played three years for the Wizards and then moved to Indiana Pacers but left the team after two months.
Singleton continued his career in China with Jiangsu Dragons, before returning to the US for the NBA D-League and the Oklahoma City Blues. In 2015 he moved to Russia and played in Euroleague with Lokomotiv Kuban, helping the team to make it to the Euroleague Final Four. In June 2016 he penned a short term contract in China with Anhui Wenyi.

AEK signed Giannoulis Larentzakis

AEK signed Giannoulis Larentzakis. The 23 years old Greek guard penned a three years old contract with AEK and returns to Greece after a short break in Spain for Zaragoza. Larentzakis debuted in Basket League Greece with Ikaros Chalkidas, then moved to Aris but the team gave him on loan to Kolossos Rodou. He played two seasons with Kolossos Rodou and in the last season he played 25 games averaging 11.76 points, 4.28 rebounds and 3 assists in 23 minutes per game.

AEK sign Manolis Chatzidakis

AEK sign Manolis Chatzidakis. The 16 years old Greek center is 2.08 meters high and member of the Greek U16 national team. Chatzidakis has played for Panionios Lerou, Kronos Agiou Dimitriou and Ikaros Kallitheas.

Rethymno signed Brandon Edwards

Rethymno Cretan Kings signed Brandon Edwards. The 24 years old American forward penned a two years contract. Edwards graduated from Texas Arlington where he played for UT Arlington Mavericks and averaged 16.28 points, 9.8 points and 1.7 blocks in his senior year. In 2014 Edwards moved to Spain for Breogan Lugo, where he played 35 games, averaging 5.26 points and 2.74 rebounds per game. In the last season Edwards continued in the second tier of Spain for Melilla helping his team to win the promotion to Liga ACB. In 41 games Edward averaged 8.83 points and 6 rebounds.

AEK sign Dionysis Skoulidas. The 19 years old Greek forward penned a three years contract. Skoulidas started his career with Peristeri and he is a member of Greece U17 and U20 national teams.

PAOK signed Brandon Taylor. The 22 years old American forward graduated from Penn State, where he averaged 16.3 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game in his senior season.

Promitheas Patron to replace Faros Keratsiniou in Basket League Greece


Promitheas Patron will play in Basket League Greece 2016-2017, replacing the team of Faros Keratsiniou. Faros Keratsiniou won the promotion to the Basket League Greece after an impressive season in A2 League 2015-2016, and a participation in the Greek Cup Final. Unfortunately the team of Faros will not participate in the forthcoming season of Basket League, since the team cannot raise its budget. Promitheas Patron finished in the third place of A2 League 2015-2016 and after the withdrawal of Faros became the second team to follow Kymi in the Basket League.

Nikos Vetoulas is Promitheas new coach

Nikos Vetoulas is Promitheas' new coach. The newly promoted team of Promitheas announced the agreement between the team and the coach Nikos Vetoulas. The 42 years old Greek started his coaching career as an assistant coach for Aris in 2008. In 2010 Vetoulas became the head coach of Apollon Patras, the team where he started his career as a player too, and he remained the head coach of Apollon until 2015. In May 2016 Vetoulas moved to Switzerland for SAM Basket Massagno.
