Flevarakis renews with Trikala BC

Kostas Flevarakis renews with Trikala BC. The Greek coach renews one month later than he did in the previous season and will continue for another year to lead the team of Trikala in the Basket League Greece. Flevarakis did not finish the season in Greece since he signed a short term contract with AZS Koszalin in Poland.

Aris signed Jerel McNeal

Aris signed Jerel McNeal. The 28 years old American guard penned an one year contract. McNeal graduated from Hillcrest High School. He went undrafted in the 2009 NBA draft, and continued to Belgium for Dexia Mons-Hainaut for a year before returning to USA for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. In the next year he played in Italy for Sutor Basket Montegranaro. After many short contracts with NBA and NBA D-League teams he played 15 games in China with  Zhejiang Golden Bulls and on April 1st 2015 he signed a ten days contract with Phoenix Suns debuting in theNBA against Golden State Warriors. 

Dwayne Davis renews with Korivos Amaliadas

Dwayne Davis renews with Korivos Amaliadas. The American combo guard came to Korivos a year ago and played 13 games in Basket League averaging 12.6 points and 3.9 rebounds per game.

Olympiacos will participate in Zadar international friendly tournament

Olympiacos will participate in Zadar international friendly tournament, that will take place on 23-27 September 2015. Besides Olympiacos and host team Zadar, Fenerbahçe Ülker, Crvena Zvezda (Red Star Belgrade), Bayern Munich, Darüşşafaka Spor Kulübü will also participate.

Aris signed Slaven Čupković

Aris signed Slaven Čupković. The 27 years old Serbian penned a contract with Aris and will play in Eurocup 2015-2016. Čupković came to Greece one year ago for Aries Trikala and averaged 12.4 points and 5.4 rebounds per game.

Faros Keratsiniou signed Manolis Papamakarios

Faros Keratsiniou signed Manolis Papamakarios. The 35 years old experienced guard played half season with KAOD averaging 10.4 points and 3.3 assists in 18 games. KAOD made an offer to keep Papamakarios in its roster, Kifisia also made an offer but Faros convinced the player to move to Keratsini and A2 League.

Giannoulis Larentzakis continues with Kolossos Rodou

Giannoulis Larentzakis continues with Kolossos Rodou. The 22 years old Greek guard penned a 3 years contract with Aris on 2013 but played only one year and since last year is on loan to Kolossos Rodou. Larentzakis played 28 games with Kolossos averaging 7.11 points and 2.68 rebounds, but Aris' coach does not think the player will be useful for the team.

Panathinaikos signed Ognjen Kuzmic

Panathinaikos signed Ognjen Kuzmic. The 25 years old Serbian player won the NBA 2014-2015 championship with the Golden State Warriors. Kuzmic was selected with the 52nd overall pick in the 2012 NBA draft by the Golden State.  He started his senior career in Borac Banja Luka and Findo Doboj. Then he moved to Finland for Korihait and returned to Bosnia for KK Čelik Zenica.
In 2011, he signed with Unicaja Málaga but played for the Clínicas Rincón Benahavís of the Spanish Second League.

On September 27, 2013, he signed with the Golden State Warriors. During his rookie and sophomore seasons, he had multiple assignments with the Santa Cruz Warriors of the NBA Development League, earning a mention to the All-NBA Development League Defensive Third Team and winning a D-League championship during the 2014–15 season.

PAOK signed Uros Duvnjak

PAOK signed Uros Duvnjak. The Serbian guard returns to PAOK after 2011-2012 season and after having played for three more teams in the Greek League, Nea Kifisia, Rethymno and Panionios. Duvnjak penned an one year contract.

Olympiacos WBC signed Hallie Christofferson

Olympiacos Women's BC signed Hallie Christofferson. The American center became the first foreign player that pens a contract with the club. Christofferson played in Austria for Flying Foxes, where she was named MVP of the Austrian Women Basketball League 2014-2015, and has also participated in the WNBA training camp with Phoenix Mercury.

PAOK will participate in International Tournament in Serbia

PAOK will participate in International Tournament in Serbia on 12/13 September. The other three teams will be Red Star Belgrade (Crvena Zvezda), Trabzonspor BK from Turkey and KK Mega Leks. PAOK has very good relations with Partizan, so a friendly game in Serbia with Red Star is always a trouble. With Mega Leks (former Mega Vizura) PAOK had some common players like Uros Dunvjak and Branko Milisavljević.

Panathinaikos in China for Euroleague Basketball World Tour 2015

Panathinaikos will play again in China for Euroleague Basketball World Tour 2015. The Greek team will play against Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (浙江广厦) in the city of Hangzhou in 28th September 2015 and two days later will play against Guangdong Southern Tigers (广东宏远宝玛仕华南虎)  in Macau.

Katsikaris calls for Eurobasket 2015

Fotis Katsikaris, the coach of the National Team of Greece, called the first selection of players that will form the team that will play in Eurobasket 2015.

Kifisia signed Nikos Gikas. The Greek guard returns to the Greek League after he left Aris and moved to Latvia for Ventspils. Gikas penned a two years contract.

Kifisia signed Chad Frazier

Kifisia signed Chad Frazier. The 23 years old American guard played one year for the University of Alabama at Birmingham but did not graduate. In the NCAA Frazier averaged 17.7 points and 4.3 assists per game. A year ago Frazier had some problems with the law, and now hopes to make a fresh start.

Apollon Patras signed Tony Meier. The 25 years old American forward played one year in Poland for Polpharma Starogard Gdanski and graduated from University of Wisconsin where he played for Milwaukee Panthers.

Rethymno Cretan Kings signed Ryan Harrow

Rethymno Cretan Kings signed Ryan Harrow. The American forward played two seasons with Georgia State University and in the previous season he averaged 18.3 points and 3.6 assists.



Lavrio signed Vangelis Bebis

Lavrio signed Vangelis Bebis. The 20 years old Greek forward penned an one year contract. Bebis started his career with Ilisiakos, continued in Ikaros Chalkidas and in the previous season played for Iona Gaels in the NCAA.

Aggelos Tsamis moved to Promitheas Patras

Aggelos Tsamis moved to A2 for Promitheas Patras. Tsamis penned a two years contract and returns to his hometown to help the newly promoted team go to Basket League. Promitheas Patras will play for the first time in the A2 division but has already signed Fanis Koumpouras (also from Patras) and Steve Panos. Tsamis played 20 games with Kolossos Rodou for Basket League 2014-2015 averaging 10.6 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game.

PAOK signed Nikola Markovic

PAOK signed Nikola Marković. The 26 years old Serbian forward penned a two years contract with PAOK. This is the first transfer for PAOK and the third Greek team for Markovic, after one year for KAOD and one year for Panelefsiniakos.

AEK signed Ian Vougioukas

AEK signed Ian Vougioukas. The 30 years old Greek center penned a two years contract with AEK and returns to Greece after half season in Turkey for Galatasaray, half season in Germany for Ulm, and Russia for Unics Kazan.

Rethymno Cretan Kings signed Charlon Kloof. The 25 years old Surinamese holds a Dutch passport and penned a two years contract. In the previous season Kloof played in the second league of Turkey for the Istanbul DSI averaging 19.8 points per game. Kloof started his career in Surinam with the Yellow Birds and then moved to Canarias Basketball Academy in Spain. After Spain he played three years for the St. Bonaventure Bonnies college. He is a member of the Netherlands U20 National Team.

Panathinaikos signed Miroslav Raduljica

Panathinaikos signed Miroslav Raduljica. The 27 years old Serbian center penned a two years contract with the Greens. After two seasons in Serbia with the KK FMP youth team and one year with Borac Čačak, Raduljica signed a 5 years contract with Efes Pilsen in 2010 but played in Germany for Alba Berlin, Serbia for Partizan and Ukraine for Azovmash. Then he moved to NBA for Milwaukee Bucks where he averaged 3.8 points and 2.3 rebounds in 48 games. After his rookie season he played 14 games in China for Shandong Lions and 5 games back in the NBA for the Minnesota Timberwolves.


Olympiacos signed Patric Young

Olympiacos signed Patric Young. The 23 years old American forward penned a two years contract with the Greek champions. Young played four years for Florida Gators and then went undrafted in the NBA 2014 Draft. He joined New Orleans Pelicans for the 2014 NBA Summer League, signed a contract but released without having played for the team. Young started his professional career in Turkey for the Galatasaray where he averaged 10.5 points and 7.9 rebounds per game.

Olympiacos signed Daniel Hackett. The 27 years old Italian American guard penned a two years contract with the Greek Champions. Hackett will play for the first time away from Italy and rejected an offer from the New York Knicks to participate in the summer camp. He has played for Benetton Treviso (2009-2010), Scavolini Pesaro (2010-2012), Montepaschi Siena (2012-2013), and Emporio Armani Milano (2013-2015). With Armani Milano has beat both Panathinaikos and Olympiacos for Euroleague

Panathinaikos signed Nick Calathes

Panathinaikos signed Nick Calathes. The Greens announced that the Greek American penned a three years contract. Panathinaikos tried to sign Calathes a year ago, but the player stayed in the NBA. Calathes is 26 years old, member of the Greek National Team, graduate of Florida Gators and besides Panathinaikos has also played in Russia for Lokomotiv Kuban and the NBA for Memphis Grizzlies.

Aris signed Michalis Pelekanos. The 34 years old forward return to Aris after 2014. In the previous year Pelekanos played for CSU Asesoft Ploiești in Romania and won the national championship.

Olympiacos signed Vassilis Toliopoulos

Olympiacos signed Vassilis Toliopoulos. The 19 years old Greek play maker was close to Olympiacos two years ago, but did not convince Giorgos Bartzokas and he moved from Panionios to Ikaros Chalkidas. After Ikaros relegated to A2 division the young player moved to Kolossos Rodou where he had a good season. Toliopoulos had a good FIBA U19 World Championship tournament with Greece and the Greek champions offered him a contract. Coach Sferopoulos will keep the player as a member of the current roster and will not offer him on loan.

Malik Hairston renews with AEK BC

Malik Hairston renews with AEK BC. The American guard came in Greece six months ago and helped AEK enter play offs, where he did not played due to an injury. Hairston averaged 14.9 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 13 games. The player signed a two years contract with AEK.

Olympiacos signed Giannis Athinaiou

Olympiacos signed Giannis Athinaiou. The Greek player penned a three year contract with the Greek champions. Athinaiou returned to Basket League Greece in the previous season for AEK after playing in Italy for Milano and Turkey for Olin Edirne.

Aris signed Vasilis Xanthopoulos

Aris signed Vasilis Xanthopoulos. The 31 years old guard penned a two years contract with Aris. Xanthopoulos will play for the first time for Aris, but has played for PAOK in the season 2005-2006. In the previous year the experienced guard played for Panionios and although he had a good season, his team did not manage to avoid relegation. Xanthopoulos finised third in assists in the Basket League Greece 2014-2015, with 129 in total, only behind Spanoulis and Diamantidis, and first in steals with Torey Thomas, having 39 steals each.

Charis Markopoulos renews with Korivos Amaliadas

Charis Markopoulos renews with Korivos Amaliadas. Almost a year since the newly promoted then team agreed terms with the Greek coach, both sides agreed to continue together. Markopoulos in his first year as the head coach managed to lead the newly promoted team in the league play offs, a great and difficult success!

Greek players moving to A2 division

In the previous season A2 division attracted many Greek players from the Basket League. The teams of the Greek countryside have money to offer in order to sign experienced players and fight for promotion to the big league. In this transfer period Promitheas signed Steve Panos from Aries Trikala, and Fanis Koumpouras from Rethymno Aegean. Faros signed Liakopoulos from Nea Kifisia, Aggelopoulos from Korivos Amaliadas, and Karampoulas from Kavala.

AEK signed Dimitris Moraitis

AEK signed Dimitris Moraitis. The 16 years old play maker is said to be the next best thing of the Greek basketball. Moraitis played with Panionios for the Basket League 2014-2015 and he had played against AEK. He signed a six years contract of about one million euros.

Aris signed Thodoros Zaras

Aris signed Thodoris Zaras. The second scorer of the Basket League Greece 2014-2015 was the leader of KAOD and will now help Aris for the next two years in the Greek League and Eurocup.

Panathinaikos signed Giorgos Kalaitzakis

Panathinaikos signed Giorgos Kalaitzakis. The 16 years old Greek is 195 cm high and member of the Greek U16 national team. Kalaitzakis is eligible for the 2021 NBA Draft.

Aleksandar Vezenkov named MVP of Basket League Greece 2014-2015

Aleksandar Vezenkov named MVP of Basket League Greece 2014-2015. After 11 years since Nestoras Kommatos was the top scorer of the League 2003-2004, a player of Aris finished first in scoring points and this was not the only record by Vezenkov. With 469 points in the season, Vezenkov had the best scoring record of the last seven years. He also finished second in rebounds (201), and first in ranking (553). After being named best young player of the League 2013-2014 and now MVP of the League 2014-2015, Vezenkov will continue in Spain for Barcelona.

George Papagiannis continues with Panathinaikos

George Papagiannis continues with Panathinaikos. The young Greek had signed a contract with the Greens a year ago, but he had some good offers from the US. After a talk with Panathinaikos' new coach Papagiannis decided to stay with the Greens and sign a new contract with a buy out option only for NBA teams.

Vasilis Simtsak renews with Aris

Vasilis Simtsak renewed his contract with Aris. The Greek center came to Aris a year ago from Panionios and helped his team to return to Eurocup. Simtsak averaged 3.6 points and 3.2 rebounds in regular season.

Olympiacos signed DJ Strawberry

Olympiacos signed Darryl Eugene "D. J." Strawberry Jr. This was the first transfer for the Greek Champions for the season 2015-2016. The 30 years old American guard was no 59 pick in the second round of 2007 NBA Draft. In the previous season Strawberry won the Turkish Championship with  Pınar Karşıyaka. Besides NBA and Turkey he had played in Israel, Croatia, Puerto Rico and France.
