Panathinaikos signed Gani Lawal

Panathinaikos signed Gani Lawal. The 26 American Nigerian forward/center graduated from College Park of Georgia and played for three years for the Georgia Tech. In 2010 he was drafted by the Phoenix Suns, number 46 overall, and played for the Iowa Energy in the NBA Development League. Then he moved to Poland for Zielona Gora, in China for Xinjiang Flying Tigers, back to Gora and then in France for Roanne. In the last two years he played in Italy for Virtus Roma, in China for Guangzhou, in Latvia for Lietuvos Riga, back to Italy for Armani Milano and his last team was the Turkish Trabzonspor.

Michalis Kamperidis renews with AEK. The Greek forward renewed his contract until 2018 but will play in Spain for Huesca until the end of season.

Elias Papatheodorou renews with Nea Kifisia. The Greek coach works for Nea Kifisia since 2006 and renewed his contract until the summer of 2017.

Panionios signed Chris Chougaz

Panionios signed Chris Chougaz. Chougaz replaced Vangelis Alexandris and became the third coach of Panionios this season. The coach has experience of Greek teams from Kavala and Iraklis and will keep the technical staff of Panionios, Vangelis Degaitas, Nikos Linoksylakis and Andreas Ziakas.

Panionios and coach Alexandris part ways. Alexandris replaced Papachatzis who started the season and managed to bring Panionios back to victories. The team seems to have another bad period and Alexandris took the blame.

Nea Kifisia and Michalis Kakiouzis part ways. The experienced player asked to leave the club due to personal issues and will continue his career in Cyprus. Nea Kifisia thanked the player and released the player.

Nea Kifisia signed Tyshawn Carissian Abbott. The 27 years old American guard graduated from Arizona State and then played in Estonia for Kalev Tallinn. Abbott started this season in Italy for Fulgor Forlì and then moved to Turkey for Eskişehir.

Roeland Schaftenaar renews with Rethymno Aegean. The Dutch player started good but had an eye surgery and was out of action for two months. His contract was renewed for two more years and will play again tomorrow against PAOK.

Olympiacos beat Fenerbahce for Euroleague Top 16 round 3

Olympiacos beat Fenerbahçe Ülker in Istanbul for Euroleague 2014-2015 Top 16 round 3. Fenerbahçe started better the game and was leading the score in the first quarter. In the second quarter Olympiacos lost Brent Petway and Oliver Lafayette due to injuries but with three pointers took the lead of the game. Fenerbahçe counter attacked and was leading the score by 60-56 but Olympiacos with a three pointer by its captain Vasilis Spanoulis and a steal by its top scorer Matt Lojeski stole the victory. Olympiacos continues with three victories in three games for the Euroleague Top 16.

Darrius Garrett and Korivos Amaliadas part ways

Darrius Garrett and Korivos Amaliadas part ways. Garrett is currently the league leader in blocks with 22 in total and also averaged 10 points and 5.9 rebounds per game. The American will continue his career in Turkey for Afyonkarahisarspor.

Korivos Amalidas signed Larry Turner

Korivos Amalidas signed Larry Turner. The 31 years old American center returns to Greek League after a short break in Romania for CS Energia Rovinari. Turner had played for Apollon Patras and Panelefsiniakos. Turner will replace Darrius Garrett who parted ways with the club.

AEK signed Malik Hairston

AEK signed Malik Hairston. The 27 years old American guard send his signed contract and will play for AEK BC until the end of this season. Hairston graduated from Oregon University where he played for Oregon Ducks and was drafted with the 18th pick in the second round (48th overall) of the 2008 NBA Draft by the Phoenix Suns. He was then signed by the San Antonio Spurs, where he played 62 games but only 8 minutes per game on average, so he moved to Italy for Montepaschi Siena and then for Emporio Armani Milano. In the previous season he played for Galatasary Liv in Turkey and Euroleague.

Panagiotis Vasilopoulos back to action

Panagiotis Vasilopoulos back to action. The 30 years old Greek player had won a European championship with the National team of Greece and a Euroleague with Olympiacos but suffered from serious injuries which led his last team Valladolid to release him. Vasilopoulos is taining with the team of Nea Kifisia and will probably pen a contract and debut against Panionios.

Panathinaikos released Julian Wright

Panathinaikos released Julian Wright. The 27 years old power forward did not manage to get a season contract with the Greek champions and was released after the Euroleague game with Maccabi Electra. With the Greens Wright played 9 games in the Euroleague 2014-2015 averaging 3.8 points and 2 rebounds in 10 minutes per game. Wright continued his career in Israel with Bnei Herzliya.

Kolossos Rodou beat KAOD in Drama for Basket League twelfth day. Kolossos won its third game in four visits in Drama with Ernest Scott and Aggelos Tsamis having a great game. The visitors created a lead of 27 points in the second quarter but the home team managed to counter attack in the second half. KAOD's counter attack was not enough although the captain Thodoris Zaras made another great game. Zaras finished the game with 22 points and 4 rebounds, Rob Loe had 7 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists, Rod Odom had 7 points and 6 rebounds. For the winners Scott made a double double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Sotiris Manolopoulos had 14 points with only one missed shot, Aggelos Tsamis had 14 points and 5 rebounds, Jamelle Hagins had 8 rebounds and Dominic Waters served 5 assists.

Aries Trikala beat Rethymno Aegean for Basket League twelfth day. Aries Trikala with Alex Harris, Justin Ingram and Slaven Čupković won where only Olympiacos has won in this season. Rethymno Aegean was leading the first half but Aries Trikala made an 11-0 run in the third quarter and took the lead of the game. Aries Trikala have to stabilize their performance since they made such great victories but lose in less difficult games. Nea Kifisia signed Xavier Silas. The 25 years old American guard will replace Patrick Ewing Jr who parted ways with the club of Nea Kifisia. Silas graduated from Northern Illinois and had signed with Maine Red Claws in the NBA D-League and with Philadelphia 76ers in the NBA. In the previous season he played in Israel for Maccabi Ashdod and then moved to Argentina for Quimsa.

Aris and Nikos Gikas part ways. The 24 years old guard moved to Aris in the summer of 2013 after being named the top scorer of A2 division with Filathlitikos. In the previous season Aris had a ban on international transfers so the team was based on Greek players like Gikas but this season Gikas has a less important role in the team and asked to leave the club.

Keravnos Strovolou (Cyprus) signed Giorgos Kalafatakis. The Greek coach parted ways Rethymno Aegean in the summer of 2014 will replace Christos Stylianidis. Keravnos is currently in the fourth place counting five wins in nine games.

Panelefsiniakos signed Nemanja Mitrović. The 24 years old Bosnian Canadian guard is 197cm high and member of Bosnia and Herzegovina national team. He graduated from Portland where he played four years for the Portland Pilots and in the previous season he played in Italy for Sutor Montegranaro. Mitrović will replace Frank Robinson who left the team.

Dimitris Mavroeidis named MVP of Basket League 2014-2015 sixth day. After the delayed completion of the sixth day Mavroeidis was named MVP for his performance against Kolossos Rodou. The 29 years old center scored 34 points, collected 13 rebounds, served 4 assists, made 3 steals in 31 minutes.

KAOD signed Dimitris Tsaldaris. The Greek player parted ways with Nea Kifisia after one and a half year and will continue his career with KAOD until the end of season.
