Olympiacos released Acie Law and Mirza Begić. Olympiacos announced that the team used the option that was on both players' contracts and released the American guard and the Slovenian center.

Argyris Pedoulakis is Unics Kazan's new coach

Argyris Pedoulakis is Unics Kazan's new head coach. Pedoulakis will replace Andrea Trinchieri and will find three Greek players in the team, Nikos Zisis, Ian Vougioukas and Kostas Kaimakoglou. This is the first time Pedoulakis will work abroad and his first goal will be to get Unics to Euroleague through qualification games.

Kenny Gabriel signed with Pınar Karşıyaka

Kenny Gabriel signed with Pınar Karşıyaka in Turkey. The team will pay 60,000$ to Rethymno Aegean as a transfer fee. Gabriel had a great season in Basket League Greece 2013-2014, in 33 games with Rethymno Aegean he had 12,81 points and 9,35 rebounds per game in average.
Gabriel finished the regular season with 10 double doubles and being named twice MVP of the day.

The Knicks have drafted Thanasis Antetokounmpo, Giannis Antetokounmpo's older brother, with the 51st pick. Thanasis Antetokounmpo was playing for Delaware 87ers in the NBA D-League.

Pops Mensah-Bonsu failed medical exams, leaves Olympiacos

Pops Mensah-Bonsu failed medical exams and won't play for Olympiacos as announced. Mensah-Bonsu suffered from knee and shoulder injuries that seem to create problems. Now Olympiacos has to keep searching players to form the roster for the new season.

Rethymno Aegean signed J.J. Moore

Rethymno Aegean signed Jonathan Jacob Moore. Moore was playing for four years in the NCAA, three year for The University of Pittsburgh and the last year he moved to Rutgers University where he had 11.2 points per game. Moore is born on 25h May 1991 and his height is 1.98m. That is the first addition for Rethymno Aegean for the Basket League Greece 2014-2015.

Panathinaikos BC announced that the team is negotiating with Nick Calathes and the two sides reach an agreement but the player haven't signed a contract yet. The Greek champions announced that they give Calathes a deadline to reply up to Friday 27th June 2014.

Mark Payne signed with Champagne Chalons-Reims

After a good season with PAOK Mark Payne will continue his career in France with Champagne Chalons-Reims. Payne played 32 games with PAOK for Basket League Greece 2013-2014 and had 11.47 points and 4.31 rebounds in average per game. Payne was named MVP of the twelfth day of the League against Ilisiakos.

Dimitris Menoudakos renews with Nea Kifisia

Nea Kifisia announced the contract renewal of Dimitris Menoudakos. Menoudakos is the captain of the team and plays for Nea Kifisia since 1998, when he was 16 years old. Menoudakos has played from the fourth regional league up to the Basket League Greece with Nea Kifisia, with a break from 2002 to 2005 when the player was in Panerythraikos. Nea Kifisia has celebrated 5 promotions and 4 titles with Dimitris Menoudakos, B and A ESKA, Third Division and A2 Division.

Panathinaikos signed George Papagiannis

Panathinaikos signed George Papagiannis. The 17 years old Greek center started at Olympiacos' academies before his first contract with Peristeri BC. In 15th January 2012 Papagiannis became the youngest player that has ever played in the Basket League Greece at the age of 14 years old and 6 months. After his debut in Peristeri Papagiannis moved to USA and currently studies and plays for Westtown School of Pennsylvania. Papagiannis will stay in Pennsylvania for one more year before joining the Greek champions. Born on 3rd July 1997 Papagiannis has won the bronze medal with Greece U16 in Ukraine FIBA Europe Under-16 Championship 2013 and then the gold medal with Greece U16 in Turkey World Under-16 Basketball Championship. For two years in a row, 2012 and 2013, Papagiannis is FIBA Europe Under-16 Championship: Blocked Shots Leader.

Olympiacos signed Oliver Lafayette for two years. The 30 years old American guard will continue his career in Greece after a year in Spain for Valencia. Lafayette made his personal records in Euroleague with Anadolu Efes in 2012 against Olympiacos with 22 points and 26 rating. With Valencia Lafayette played 40 games with 7.9 points and 4.5 assists per game in average.

Greece U20 beat Italy U20 in Roseto degli Abruzzi tournament and took the first place with three victories in three games. For Greece Lefteris Bochoridis had 25 points and Michalis Kamperidis had 16 points. For Italy Simone Fontecchio had 15 points and Tomasso Laquintana had 13 points. Italy took the third place with one victory and two defeats.

Panathinaikos signed Michalis Lountzis for five years. Lountzis is 16 years old, born in 1998, and his height is 1.95m. He was playing for Kronos Agiou Dimitriou BC in the third division and is the captain of Greek cadets national team. Michalis Lountzis has been invited to Adidas Eurocamp which is scheduled in Treviso from June 7 to 9.

Greece U20 beat Poland U20 for Roseto degli Abruzzi friendly tournament with score 77-69. For Greece Paris Maragos was the top scorer with 17 points. Georgios Diamantakos made a double double with 14 points and 12 rebounds and Dimitris Siologkas had 14 points and 9 rebounds too.

Jonas Mačiulis named best forward of Basket League Greece 2013-2014. Mačiulis played 22 games for the regular season with 6.23 points and 2.59 rebounds per game in average but improved in the 9 games of the League Play Offs with 8.78 points and 3.56 rebounds per game.

KAOD announced that Kostas Mexas is the new head coach of the team. Mexas was the assistant coach of Nenad Marković and has been in the team since 2011 as the assistant coach of Giorgos Kalafatakis. Efthimis Rentziasis the new general manager of Aries Trikala BC. Rentzias former basketball player who started his career in Danaos Trikala before playing for PAOK, Barcelona, Philadelphia 76ers, Ulker, Siena and Valladolid. After Valladolid Rentzias retired due to injuries. Rentzias is also an elected member of Thessaly prefecture.

Aris released Jeremy Hunt

Aris BC announced that the team used the buy out option and released Jeremy Hunt. Hunt was the only foreign player of Aris in the season 2013-2014 since the team from Thessaloniki had a transfers' limitation due to economic problems. Hunt played 15 games with Aris and had 1.7 points and 1.13 rebounds in average per game.

Nea Kifisia signed Michalis Kalavros

Nea Kifisia signed Michalis Kalavros as an assistant of Elias Papatheodorou. Kalavros has worked as coach in Greece for Sporting, in Norway for Harstad Vikings and New Zealand for Manawatu Jets. As an assistant coach Kalavros has worked in Near East, AEK, Kolossos Rodou, Olympia Larissas, Ilisiakos and in Germany for Frankfurt Skyliners and in China for Shanghai Sharks. A helpful and experienced member for the team of Nea Kifisia.

Stephane Lasme named best center and defender of the Greek Basket League

Stephane Lasme named best center and best defender of the Greek Basket League. This is the second year in a row that Lasme is named best defender of the league. In the previous season Lasme was named Euroleague Best Defender, Greek League Best Defender and Greek League MVP. Lasme played 33 games with Panathinaikos in this season and had 10.73 points and 5 rebounds in average per game.

Olympiacos and Perperoglou part ways

Stratos Perperoglou won't continue his career in Greece since the player didn't agree terms with Olympiacos. Perperoglou was a player of Olympiacos for the previous two seasons and before that had played for Panathinaikos, Panionios and Ilisiakos. In this season Perperoglou  played 20 games and had 9 points and 3.65 rebounds in average per game. Perperoglou will probably continue his career in Turkey and Anadolu Efes Spor Kulübü, first time that he will play abroad.

Germany won the second friendly game against Greece by 73-68. Greece won the first friendly game by 62-60. Impressive game by Ismet Akpinar with 29 points, 5/8 three pointers, 7 fouls drawn and 6/6 free throws. For Greece Michalis Liapis had 15 points, Alexandros Spyridonidis had 14 points, Giannis Kouzeloglou had 12 points and Michalis Kamperidis had 11 points.

Greece U20 national team beat Germany U20 national team in friendly game by 62-60. For Greece Lefteris Bochoridis, Michalis Liapis and Dimitris Siologkas were the top scorers. For Germany Kenneth Ogbe, Maximilian Ugrai, Robin Jorch and Dominic Lockhart were the top scorers. Greece had a poor 14/24 in free throws while Germany had 8/18 three pointers. Germany collected 8 rebounds more but also made 7 turnovers more and had 9 steals less than Greece.

Nea Kifisia announced the releases of Thodoris Sioutis and Christos Petrodimopoulos. The team thanked both players for their characters and games. This is the first step of the new season's preparation for Nea Kifisia.

Panathinaikos released Mačiulis, Lasme, Bramos, Curry and Ping

Panathinaikos BC announced that the club used the option out in the contracts of Jonas Mačiulis, Stephane Lasme, Mike Bramos, Ramel Curry and Shang Ping. Those five players are now released from the club and are free to negotiate with other teams. Shang Ping was long ago out of the team plans but anyway he became the first Chinese player to win the Greek Championship and the Greek Cup. Panathinaikos may start negotiations with Mike Bramos but not with the rest four players.

Aris BC announced that Spyros Mourtos will continue to play for the club for 3 more years. Mourtos played 26 games with Aris in Greek Basket League 2013-2014 and had 6 points in 22 minutes per game in average.

Nea Kifisia agreed terms with Giorgos Limniatis

Nea Kifisia agreed terms with Giorgos Limniatis. Limniatis will be member of the coaching team of Nea Kifisia as assistant of Ilias Papatheodorou. Limniatis played for Panellinios, Olympiacos, Papagou, Panionios, Daphni, PAOK and Ionikos N.F. As a coach Limniatis has worked in junior Greek national teams and as an assistant of Andrea Trinchieri in the Greek national team.

DJ Cooper acquired Bosnian passport

DJ Cooper acquired Bosnian passport. The American play maker that had a great rookie season with PAOK in Greek Basket League and Eurocup is now having a Bosnian passport and Duško Ivanović announced that Cooper will be part of the Bosnian national team. What is left to see is if Cooper and Ivanović will work together only in Bosnian national team or will also work together in Panathinaikos.

Giannis Lianos and Apollon Patras part ways

Giannis Lianos left the club of Apollon Patras after almost 20 years. Lianos was playing for Apollon Patras following his father Vasilis Spanos. 

Duško Ivanović and Panathinaikos agreed terms

Duško Ivanović (Душко Ивановић) is the new head coach of Panathinaikos. The coach of the Bosnian national team agreed terms for a two years' contract with the Greek champions. Sotiris Manolopoulos will be the assistant coach, keeping his current position and Fragiskos Alvertis will become the team manager.

Nea Kifisia and Spyros Diamantopoulos part ways

Nea Kifisia and Spyros Diamantopoulos parted ways after seven years. The 31 years old Greek forward was one of the key players that led the team from local divisions to the Greek Basket League. Nea Kifisia made a tribute video for the seven years of Diamantopoulos in the team.

Fotis Katsikaris in the new coach of the Greek national basketball team

Hellenic Basketball Federation announced that Fotis Katsikaris in the new coach of the Greek national basketball team. Katsikaris will coach the Greek national team in the forthcoming World Championship in Spain. Katsikaris started his coaching career in AEK as assistant coach of Dusan Ivkovic and Dragan Sakota, then as head coach of AEK before moving to Dinamo St. Petersburg BC, Valencia BC, Aris and Bilbao. Fotis Katsikaris replaced Andrea Trinchieri that failed in leading Greece to a medal.

Elias Papatheodorou renewed with Nea Kifisia

Elias Papatheodorou renewed his contract for two more years with Nea Kifisia (AENK). The 39 years old Greek coach led his team to a great debut year in the Greek Basket League. Papatheodorou signed with Nea Kifisia in 2007 and led the team to 4 league promotions in 6 years, from the local leagues to the Greek League Play Offs.

Olympiacos withdrew its players from the Greek national teams

Olympiacos withdrew its players from the Greek national teams. Olympiacos has announced that the team will not allow its players to join the Greek nationals teams, all U17, U18, U20, and men national team, if the players don't get a full insurance. Giannis Papapetrou, Dimitris Agravanis and Andreas Christodoulou didn't not appear in the first practice of Greece U20 national team that will participate in European U20 Championship in Crete.

PAOK BC special celebration for the third place
