Olympiacos defeated Unicaja Malaga for Euroleague TOP 16

Olympiacos hosted and defeated Unicaja Malaga for Euroleague TOP 16. The Euroleague champion seems to recover after a short period of bad games.  First quarter was balanced but Olympiacos took the lead early in the second quarter and broadened the difference in the third and fourth quarter. Both teams were poor in three pointers but Olympiacos made less turnovers and collected more rebounds. All twelve players of Olympiacos scored at least two points, great team play.

Panelefsiniakos signed Nacho (Ignacio) Ordin. The 36 years old Spanish play maker had played in Spain for León, Granada, Bruesa GBC, Breogán Lugo, Lucentum Alicante and Pau-Orthez.

Aries Trikala signed Steve Panos

Aries Trikala signed Steve Panos. The 25 years old Greek American has previously played for Kavala and Kolossos Rodou in the Greek Basket League. Panos will replace Jeremy Granger who was injured in a car accident and won't play for the rest of the season.

Panionios lost by Crvena Zvezda for Eurocup Last 32. This was the fourth defeat in a row for Panionios in the Last 32 round. In a tight game Panionios was ahead in first quarter, following in the second and third quarter but lost another game and will not continue in Eurocup.

Olympiacos hosted and defeated Ilisiakos for Greek Basket League 15th day. In the first game without its top scorer, Kevin Anderson, Ilisiakos made a suprisingly good game and was leading the game for 21 minutes. Olympiacos had to tried more in a supposingly easy game. For Olympiacos 11 players, all except young Katsivelis scored. For Ilisiakos the veteran Nikos Chatzis scored 22 points and DJ Stephens 6 points with 13 rebounds. Jamario Moon was the top scorer of Olympiacos in his first game in the League.

Apollon Patras hosted and defeated Ikaros Chalkidas for Greek Basket League 15th day. The game was tight and finally Apollon Patras got a very important victory. First quarter finished with equal score and Ikaros Chalkidas finished the half time with a lead of two points. Apollon Patras managed to balance the game in the third quarter and turn the game in the last crucial quarter. Ikaros Chalkidas had 3/23 three pointers while Apollon Patras made only 6 turnovers. Apollon Patras' captain Nikos Argyropoulos was the top scorer with 16 points. Panathinaikos managed the 14 points difference of the first quarter and had an easy victory. Rob Jones with a double double 15 points and 12 rebounds, Manolis Papamakarios with 13 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals and Larry Turner with 8 points and 8 rebounds were the best players of Panelefsiniakos. PAOK defeated Aris for Greek League 15th day

PAOK hosted and defeated Aris for Greek Basket League 15th day. Aris started the game with 3 points but PAOK replied with a 14-0 run and made the score 16-3. First quarter finished with 4 consecutive points from Asimakopoulos and PAOK ahead by 9 points, 20-11. PAOK had 4/8 three pointers in the first quarter, while Aris had 0/4. Second quarter started with Michalis Tsairelis making it a double score for his team, 22-11. In the 15th minute Asimakopoulos scored the first three pointer for Aris and made the score 27-18. Aris approached PAOK to 7 points, 29-22, PAOK reacted and the difference went back to two digits, 34-22. Mourtos scored the second three pointer of Aris and the first half ended with Aris behind in score by 9 points. DJ Cooper had 9 points, 4 assists and Michalis Tsairelis 9 points and 3 rebounds in the first half. Aris started improved in the second half and with Mourtos was keeping the difference below 9 points. PAOK started missing three pointers and Aris started scoring them. With two consecutive three pointers Aris lowered the difference to 4 points, 39-35, and to one point, 39-38. Third quarter finished with another three pointer for Aris with Alexander Vezenkov, that made the score 43-41. In the fourth quarter both teams were nervous. Aris approached again to two points, 45-43. Tsochlas scored for PAOK but then there was a tension between the players of both teams. PAOK's bench and Lefteris Tsakaleris from Aris were charged with one technical foul each. Fans threw a firework, game was stopped and Aris' players left the court. Referees asked fans to evacuate PAOK Sports Arena in order to continue the game. After the evacuation Aris couldn't manage to follow PAOK and the last quarter gave the home team a great victory with score 56-49. Michalis Tsairelis was the top scorer of PAOK with 13 points. Giorgos Bogris collected 10 rebounds and DJ Cooper had 6 rebounds and 7 assists.

Rethymno Aegean defeated Kolossos Rodou for Greek League 15th day

Rethymno Aegean hosted and defeated Kolossos Rodou for Greek Basket League 15th day. With this victory Rethymno reached Kolossos in the League table. Rethmyno Aegean was massive in the first half with 26 points in each quarter. First quarter finished with 16 and second one with 21 points difference for Rethymno. In the third quarter Kolossos lowered the difference to 18 points but the final difference was 19 points. Rethymno bombed Kolossos with 12/27 three pointers while Kolossos was poor in free throws with 21/40. Rethmyno collected 18 more rebounds than Kolossos, 43 against 25. Those stats show why Rethymno Aegean won easily this crucial game. All twelve players of Rethymno Aegean scored at least two points and ten of them collected at least one rebound. Kenny Gabriel made another double double with 13 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks! Justin Hurtt was the top scorer of the game with 30 points, 6/9 three pointers. For Kolossos Rodou Bambale Osby had 16 points, 6 rebounds and 7 fouls drawn. Aggelos Tsamis 6 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 fouls drawn. Christoforos Stefanidis added 14 points more.

KAOD hosted Nea Kifisia for Greek Basket League 15th day. Nea Kifisia started the game better than KAOD and took the lead by six points in the first quarter. KAOD reacted in the second quarter and with an 8-0 run equalized the score from 17-25 to 25-25. The first half finished with Nea Kifisia ahead by one points, 32-33. Nea Kifisia had 6/9 three pointers with Dimitris Tsaldaris having 11 points and Tony Crocker 8 points. For KAOD team game was the key with 9 players having scored in the first half. KAOD's team game helped the team to take the lead in the third quarter. Tony Crocker equalized the score, 66-66, but Zaras with a three pointer and Slaftsakis with a free throw gave their team 4 points lead. Liakopoulos scored 2/2 and Lazeric Jones 1/2 free throws. Liakopoulos scored a crucial three pointer and the game finished with equal score in normal time, 71-71. Nea Kifisia was leading the score in the extra time before Dante Stiggers equalized, 74-74. Thodoros Zaras scored in the last seconds and made the score 76-74. Dimitris Tsaldaris and Michalis Kakiouzis failed to score but their team was collecting the rebounds and Dimitris Tsaldaris with his 5th but most crucial three pointer gave his team a great victory with score 76-77. For KAOD Diamantis Slaftsakis was the top player with 13 points and 8 rebounds, with Lazeric Jones having 19 points and 7 rebounds. For Nea Kifisia Dimitris Tsaldaris had 20 points with 5/9 three pointers, including the crucial winning one. Tony Crocker had 16 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals. Aries Trikala hosted Panionios for Greek Basket League 15th day. First quarter started tight but Aries Trikala made a small counter attack in the end and finished it with a small lead of five points. Chris Evans finished the first quarter with 7 points and 6 rebounds. In the second quarter Trikala created a 7 points difference, 23-16, Panionios took the lead 33-34, but first half finished with a 6-0 run from Aries Trikala and 5 points lead. Aries Trikala finished the first half with only 6 turnovers and Chris Evans having a double double with 11 points and 10 rebounds in 20 minutes! Marc Carter had 5 turnovers of the 13 team turnovers of Panionios. In the third quarter Aries Trikala was ahead by 4-5 points but Errick McCollum started scoring for Panionios and with 4/4 three pointers gave a 4 points lead for his team, 55-59. Third quarter finished with Panionios scoring three pointers and Aries Trikala with Mario Matalon free throws. Vasilis Simtsak helped Panionios keep the lead in the fourth quarter beginning. One minute before the end Patrick Ewing Junior scored a three pointer making the score 73-75. McCollum, Langford, Kyritsis, Evans failed to score and Mike Porrini scored and equalized the score 75-75, 30 seconds before the end. Kyritsis and Perunicic failed to score and the game finished with equal score in normal time, 75-75. In extra time Panionios was leading the score and Aries Trikala was equalizing, 75-77 to 77-77, then 77-79 to 79-79 but with consecutive free throws from Nikolopoulos and Patrick Ewing Junior Aries Trikala took the lead with 83-79. Keving Langford scored a three pointer and made the score 83-82. Marc Carter scored the most crucial two points of the game and gave his team a great victory with score 83-84 in extra time. Chris Evans finished the game with double double, 12 points, 14 rebounds, 4 steals and 2 assists. Michael Porrini had 18 points and 4 assists. For Panionios all players, except young Skordilis, scored at least 2 points in the game with Errick McCollum being again the top scorer with 20 points.

Fenerbahçe Ülker defeated Panathinaikos in Istanbul for Euroleague TOP 16. This was the first time Želimir Obradović was Panathinaikos' opponent after he left the Greek champions. Fenerbahçe Ülker had 3 defeats and Panathinaikos had 3 victories in the first 3 games of the TOP 16. For Panathinaikos Dimitris Diamantidis served 8 assists and scored 9 points with James Gist scoring 6 points and collecting 10 rebounds.

Ilisiakos released Kevin Anderson. A certain loss for Ilisiakos since the team is in the last place of the league and is now losing the 5th scorer of the league. Anderson played 14 games with Ilisiakos and had 14,3 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists per game in average. Anderson was named twice MVP of the day in the Greek League, in the 11th day against Kolossos Rodou and 13th day against Rethymno Aegean. The American player will probably continue his career in Turkey.

Crvena Zvezda defeated Panionios for Eurocup Last 32

Crvena Zvezda (Red Star) hosted and defeated Panionios in Belgrade for Eurocup Last 32 round. Panionios had a good first half, specially in the first quarter. The Greek team was leading the first quarter by 3 points but first half ended with Red Star ahead by 4 points. In the third quarter Red Star made a counter attack and with partial score 22-12 broadened the difference to 14 points. Panionios didn't reply and the fourth quarter was almost like the third one. with the Serbian team winning the game with a broad difference of 20 points. It was the first victory for Crvena Zvezda against Greek teams in this season, after losing in Belgrade and in Athens by Panathinaikos. Boban Marjanović (Бобан Марјановић) finished the game with a double double, 10 points and 11 rebounds. Errick McCollum was once more the top scorer of Panionios but only with 11 points. Panionios has 3 defeats in 3 games for the Eurocup Last 32 round. Crvena Zvezda doubled its victories and also has one defeat.

Ivan Aska named MVP of 14th day

Ivan Aska named MVP of  Greek Basket League14th day. Aska helped his team Ikaros Chalkidas, to win a crucial game against Rethymno Aegean. Aska played 36 minutes and had 15 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 4 fouls drawn. In the first round game Gabe Pruitt of Rethmyno Aegean was named MVP of the first day, which highlights the importance of the games between Ikaros Chalkidas and Rethymno Aegean. This is the second time Aska is named MVP of the day, after sixth day against KAOD. Also it is the third time that a player from Ikaros Chalkidas is named MVP of the day, two times Aska and one time Sutton.

Panathinaikos won Olympiacos for Greek League 14th day

Panathinaikos hosted and defeated Olympiacos for Greek Basket League 14th day. Olympiacos defeated Panathinaikos in OAKA in the previous season with 60-64 score and also won in the first round game in Piraeus. Panathinaikos starting five were Diamantidis, Ukić, Mačiulis, Gist and Lasme. Starting five for Olympiacos were Mantzaris, Spanoulis, Lojeski, Printezis and Dunston.The game started with three consecutive missed three pointers, two for Olympiacos and one for Panathinaikos. Then Giorgos Printezis scored four points. Panathinaikos scored after 3 minutes in the game with Stephane Lasme, Roko Leni Ukić equalized the score and Ramel Curry gave the lead to Panathinaikos for the first time with 7-4 score. Vasilis Spanoulis with his first three pointer gave the lead to Olympiaocs by 9-10 but Ramel Curry with his second three pointer replied. Panathinaikos had 3/6 three pointers, while Olympiacos only 1/8 in the first quarter. Ramel Curry had 10 points in the first quarter. Olympiacos started second quarter with a 5-0 run and equalized the score, 17-17. Panathinaikos scored 3 points in the first 7 minutes of the second quarter, but then scored 6 points in a row. First half finished with Panathinaikos ahead in score by two points, 27-25. Mat Lojeski finished first half with 8 points and 5 rebounds. Olympiacos' coach Bartzokas was charged with a technical foul after the half time, due to complaining at coaches' decisions. In the second half Dimitris Diamantidis was charged with his third foul and Olympiacos took the lead with 28-31. Stephane Lasme felt sick and remained in the bench for the third quarter. Panathinaikos with a 5-0 run took back the lead by two, 35-33. With another 5-0 run in the end of the third quarter Panathinaikos finished ahead by 4, 41-37. The two teams were nervous in the last minutes with 6 consecutive turnovers from both teams to keep the score in low levels. Dimitris Diamantidis scored his first three pointer of the game and gave his team ten points lead, 52-42, two minutes before the end. Panathinaikos won a tight game and secured the first place of the Greek Basket League normal season. Olympiacos had a poor 13% in three pointer and made three more turnovers than Panathinaikos, 19 vs 16. For Panathinaikos Ramel Curry was the top scorer with 12 points. Dimitris Diamantidis had 10 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds and 3 steals. James Gist and Antonis Fotsis had 6 rebounds each. For Olympiacos Matt Lojeski scored 10 points and had 8 rebounds, with Bryant Dunston having 8 points and 8 rebounds. Vasilis Spanoulis had 3 points with 1/8 three pointers and 0/2 two pointers.

Panionios hosted and defeated Panelefsiniakos for Greek Basket League 14th day. Panionios had a great team game and won the game. With 11 players scoring and all 12 players collecting at least one rebound, Panelefsiniakos couldn't follow Panionios for more than two quarters. Errick McCollum had 18 points and 5 assists, Uros Duvnjak 17 points and 6 rebounds. For Panelefsiniakos Manolis Papamakarios had 15 points and 3 assists. Kolossos Rodou hosted and defeated PAOK for Greek Basket League 14th day. PAOK was ahead by one point in the first two quarters. Tight game with low score. In the second half Kolossos Rodou made an 8-0 run and took the lead of the game. PAOK scored only 8 points in the crucial third quarter and didn't manage to change much in the last quarter. With only 2/19 three pointers and 16 turnovers PAOK had a bad game and couldn't expect more. For Kolossos Rodou Papantoniou had 15 points, Bambale Osby 14 points and 8 rebounds. First 8 minutes were tight but Ikaros Chalkidas finished the first quarter with an 8-0 run and 10 points difference. That difference didn't change in the rest of the game. The home team was keeping Rethymno in distance and won a crucial game. Both teams were accurate at three pointers, 10/24 for Ikaros Chalkidas and 10/28 for Rethymno Aegean. Aris hosted and defeated KAOD for Greek Basket League 14th day. First quarter was bad for Aris that had 0/8 three pointers while KAOD had 67% in all shots, 4/6 free shots, 4/6 two pointers and 2/3 three pointers. Lazeric Jones finished the first quarter with 11 points. Aris made a 6-0 run in the second half and took the lead by two points. Lefteris Bochoridis scored the first three pointer for Aris, after 11 failed attempts, making the score 25-22. First half finished with Aris ahead by 9 points. Aris had 1/16 three pointers but with only 4 turnovers and 10/16 two pointers was ahead in score. KAOD had 13 turnovers in the first half, which were the main reason of being behind in score. Aris improved having 5/13 three pointers and only 10 more turnovers in the second half and broadened the difference to 20 points in the third half. KAOD didn't counter attacked and the game finished with a broad victory for Aris. Kostas Charisis finished the game with a double double, 10 points and 10 rebounds. Nea Kifisia hosted and defeated Aries Trikala for Greek Basket League 14th day. Nea Kifisia started better than Aries Trikala the first half, with Tony Crocker and Darrius Garrett leading their team. Nea Kifisia made only 4 turnovers in the first half and had double accuracy than Aries Trikala in two pointers, 73% vs 32%, finishing the first half ahead by 18 points. Aries Trikala complained about referees, since Patrick Ewing Junior was charged with 3 fouls after only 4 minutes in the game. It was almost sure that Aries Trikala will improve in the second half. With Jeremy Granger, Patrick Ewing Junior and Chris Evans made a 9-0 run and lowered the difference from 18 points to only 2 points, 53-51. Nea Kifisia replied with Darrius Garret and two consecutive three pointers from Vasiljevic, broadening the difference to two digits again, 61-51. Nea Kifisia won by 23 points since it had higher shot accuracy, more rebounds and more assists. Tony Crocker was the top scorer with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Ilisiakos took the lead in score with 10-6 but then Apollon made an 11-0 run and finished the first quarter ahead by 10 points. In the second quarter it was Ilisiakos' turn to make an 8-0 run and lower the difference of the first half to 4 points. Ilisiakos lowered the difference to two points, in the beginning of the second half, but Apollon Patras replied and the difference reached 16 points, 41-57. Bilbao hosted and defeated Panionios for Eurocup Last 32 second round. It was a bad game for Panionios that lost with broad score. Only Errick McCollum was good, as usual, with 28 points. McCollum alone wasn't enough to win Bilbao that had 6 players scoring more than 10 points. Roger Grimau led six Bilbao players in double digits with 18 points. Gabriel scored 15, Pilepic 14, and Zoran Vrkic added 11 points. Dairis Bertans and Damir Markota each added 10 points for Bilbao.

Olympiacos lost from Barcelona for Euroleague TOP 16

Olympiacos hosted Barcelona for Euroleague TOP16. It was the first game that Kostas Papanikolaou returned to Piraeus as an opponent. Olympiacos started better the game and created a 9 points difference in the first 9 minutes, 23-14. Barcelona finished the first quarter with a 4-0 run and continued to lower the difference in the second quarter. Half time finished with Euroleague winners leading the score by two points. Second half was better for Barcelona that changed the lead and created a difference of 7 points by the end of the third quarter. Olympiacos tried to counter attack and win the game in the last minutes, when it approached to two points, 64-66. Then Olympiacos made two turnovers, but also complains about the referees decisions. Barcelona not only won the game but broadened the difference to 11 points in the end. Vasilis Spanoulis and Giorgos Printezis scored 17 points each for Olympiacos. Kostas Papanikolaou scored only 2 points but Navarro scored 21 points and Brad Oleson 14 points for the winners. After this game Olympiacos counted 2 defeats and Barcelona 3 victories in 3 games for Euroleague TOP 16.

Aries Trikala signed Michael Porrini

Aries Trikala signed Michael Porrini. Mike Porrini is Kent State college graduate where he was teammate with Chris Evans, who will meet again at Trikala. In the last season Porrini was playing in the second league of Turkey for Gelisim, 32 games with 13,8 points, 6,8 rebounds and 4,6 assists per game in average.

DJ Cooper of PAOK named MVP of the first round of the Greek Basket League 2013-2014. DJ Cooper had the highest ranking performance in the first round, leading the assists and the steals category. DJ Cooper collected 41 votes in the poll, with Errick McCollum of Panionios being second with 35 votes. Panathinaikos defeated Apollon Patras for Greek League 13th day

Panathinaikos hosted and defeated Apollon Patras for Greek League 13th day. This was the last game for the first round of Greek Basket League and Panathinaikos hosted Apollon Patras without fans. Panathinaikos had won easily Apollon Patras in a friendly game earlier in this season and had a total 22-2 record against Apollon Patras. Apollon Patras' newest addition Roland Ross helped his team to lead the score in the first quarter. Panathinaikos counter attacked in the second quarter and with partial score 21-9 finished the first half leading the score by 9 points. In the first half nine different players scored for Panathinaikos. Roland Ross scored first in the second half but Panathinaikos made a 10-0 run and the difference went up to 20 points. Apollon Patras managed to finish the third quarter only 5 points behind, taking advantage of the many turnovers that Panathinaikos made. In the last quarter Jeremiah Wilson with a three pointer lowered the difference to two points and set the game on fire. Mike Bramos and Antonis Fotsis scored 5 points helping their team making a break. In a nervous game for Panathinaikos with many turnovers, Diamantidis was charged with a technical foul in the last minute and Apollon Patras approached again to 5 points, before Mike Bramos scoring a three pointer. Panathinaikos won Apollon Patras by 8 points in a good game for Apollon Patras. It was a tight game with 25/31 free throws for Panathinaikos and 17/22 for Apollon Patras, with 22 and 27 fouls made respectively. Milan Minic is the new coach of Aris BC. After Vaggelis Angelou left Aris for Efes Anadolu the team was looking for a coach. Minic was the coach of Aris in the season 2002-2003 and Vaggelis Angelou was his assistant coach. Minic besides Aris has been the coach of Energy Koeln, Lokomotiv Rostov and Vojvodina Srbijagas.

Rethymno Aegean dismissed Thanasis Giaples and signed Giorgos Kalafatakis. Giaples was Rethymno's coach since last season, when he replaced Stergios Koufos. After the defeat by Ilisiakos the board decided to dismiss Giapels and agreed terms with Giorgos Kalafatakis. In his debut with Rethmyno Giorgos Kalafatakis will coach against Ikaros Chalkidas, his previous team. Giorgos Kalafatakis worked a lot with Ikaros Chalkidas and left the team in December 2013.

Panionios hosted Olympiacos for Greek Basket League thirteenth day. Olympiacos took the lead with an early 1-10 run and finished the first half ahead in score by 8 points. Spanoulis had 2/2 three pointers in the first quarter. Second quarter was balanced and more productive. First half finished with score 39-48 and Panionios following Olympiacos in score. In the third quarter Olympiacos broadened the difference above 10 points, that kept it until the end. Panionios was bad in three pointers with 4/18 and collected 30 rebounds, while Olympiacos collected 13 rebounds more. Rethymno Aegean dominated the third quarter and took the lead in score again with 54-59. In the last quarter the home team was massive, scoring 32 points and let Rethmyno Aegean score only 13 points. Ilisiakos reversed the score two times and won the game by 14 points. Very tight game with Ilisiakos shooting 42 free throws and scoring 32 of them. Nikos Chatzis had a great game with 20 points, 3 assists and 6 fouls drawn in 18 minutes. DJ Stephens made a double double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. On the opposite Chris Evans had 11 points and 2 rebounds. Second quarter was balanced, with partial score 16-16. KAOD finished the first half with only 1/6 three pointers and Aries Trikala with 3/11. Julian Vaughn in his best first half for this season had 20 points, 8 rebounds, 5 fouls drawn without any turnovers or fouls made. Chris Evans was following with 19 points, 4 rebounds and 5 fouls drawn. Almost two men show in the first half. Vaughn didn't score in the second half and Evans scored 7 more points. Aris lost from Kolossos Rodou for Greek League thirteenth day

Aris hosted Kolossos Rodou for Greek Basket League thirteenth day. The game didn't have fans attending due to Aris' penalty. Kolossos started the game better and took the lead in score that kept until the end. Aris approached to four points only for short time in the second quarter but Kolossos broadened the score in the third and fourth quarter. With that victory Kolossos shares the same points with Aris leaving the league table bottom. The team from Rodos keeps improving with Dimitris Priftis and the additions of Car and Nadjfeji, while Aris continued with another defeat. For Aris Asimakopoulos had 6 points and 12 rebounds, Michalis Pelekanos 15 points and 5 rebounds. For Kolossos Papantoniou had 14 points, Taylor Smith 13 points and 7 rebounds. The new players of Kolossos were positive. Nadjfeji had 8 points and 6 rebounds, Car had 3 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists.

Ikaros Chalkidas lost from PAOK Greek League thirteenth day

Ikaros Chalkidas hosted and lost from PAOK for Greek Basket League thirteenth day. First quarter was tight, with Ikaros Chalkidas playing with three pointer and free throws and PAOK from the paint. Michalis Tsairelis had 8 points with 4/4 two pointers in the first quarter and Ivan Aska 6 points with 3/4 two pointers. PAOK dominated the second quarter and with a partial score 9-29 broadened the difference to 26 points, finishing the first half with almost double score. Τhird quarter was a balancing period with both teams. In the last quarter PAOK started with a 6-0 run but Ikaros Chalkidas replied with a 10-0 run. Ikaros Chalkidas had a perfect fourth quarter with partial score 33-17. PAOK was dominating the game for more than 30 minutes but in the end its players let Ikaros Chalkidas counter attack and lower the difference to 8 points. PAOK team was very accurate with more than 60% in all shots. Olympiacos registered Moon and Collins for Greek League

Olympiacos registered Jamario Moon and Mardy Collins for Greek Basketball League. Moon and Collins replaced Brent Petway and Ace Law. Both Law and Petway remain in the team but suffer from injuries and won't play in the Greek League second round. Jamario Moon and Mardy Collins were the recent additions in Olympiacos roster.

Panathinaikos defeated Laboral Kutxa Vitoria for Euroleague TOP 16

Panathinaikos defeated Laboral Kutxa Vitoria in Spain for Euroleague TOP 16 second day. Laboral Kutxa Vitoria had won five of its last six home games against Panathinaikos, but the Greens had a 10-6 lead in the all-time series. Panathinaikos had a great first quarter when the Greek team took the lead in score by 7 points. The home team counter attacked for two quarters, lowered the difference in the second and took the lead in the third quarter. The Greek champions made their own counter attack in the last crucial quarter and took a victory where they have lost in the previous round in details. James Gist was impressive but Stephane Lasme was productive with 20 points. Dimitris Diamantidis scored a crucial three pointer and served 9 assists, besides scoring 12 points. For the home team Thomas Heurtel and Tibor Pleiss were the top scorers.

Armani Milano defeated Olympiacos for Euroleague TOP 16 second day

 EA7 Emporio Armani Milan hosted and defeated Olympiacos Piraeus for Euroleague TOP 16 second day. Olympiacos was undefeated in the Euroleague and started the game better than Armani Milano, with Simmons and Printezis leading the first quarter. Armani Milano counter attacked and the first half finished with the home team leading the score by 7 points. The Italian team played tight defense on Vasilis Spanoulis and with Keith Langford having a great game broadened the difference to 23 points in the end of the third quarter. The third quarter was a disaster for Olympiacos with the partial score to be 24-8. Olympiacos didn't manage to lower the difference and lost by 30 points. First defeat for Olympiacos in Euroleague this season with a broad difference. Armani Milano had 12/21 three pointers while Olympiacos had only 3/18 three pointers. Keith Langford was unstoppable with 29 points, 4 rebounds and 9 fouls drawn. Gani Lawal helped with 10 points and 9 rebounds. For Olympiacos only Giorgos Printezis scored more than 10 points,

Kolossos Rodou signed Marko Car

Kolossos Rodou signed Marko Car. The 28 years old Croatian shooting guard started the season with KK Zagreb, then moved to KK Zadar before moving to Kolossos Rodou until the end of the season. Car started his career in Croatia with Šanac Karlovac, then with KK Split and KK Osijek 2006. After Croatia he continued in Cyprus with ETHA Engomis before moving back to Croatia for KK Zadar and Cedevita Zagreb. Car was a member of the Croatia team that won the gold medal in 2009 Mediterranean games. He is the second player that moved from KK Zagreb and Cedevita Zagreb to a Greek team this season, after Ante Mašić that moved to Ikaros Chalkidas.

Panionios lost from Nizhny Novgorod in Eurocup Last 32

Panionios lost from Nizhny Novgorod in the first game of Group L for Eurocup Last 32. This was the third victory of Nizhny Novgorod against Greek teams this season, after defeating PAOK in Thessaloniki and in Russia. Nizhny led the score from the first quarter with Panionios making its counter attack in the third quarter. For Panionios Errick McCollum scored 31 points, Landon Milbourne 15 points and Kevin Langford 10 points but that was all. Nizhny had Luke Babbitt and Dijon Thompson scoring 17 points each with Taylor Rochestie following with 16 points.

Olympiacos signed Jamario Moon

Olympiacos signed Jamario Raman Moon until the end of the season. Moon will replace Brent Petway who suffers from an injury and won't be playing for about a month. Moon is 33 years old, American small forward, graduate of  Meridian Community College. Moon entered the 2001 NBA Draft as an early candidate, but was not drafted by any team, but he was drafted twice in NBA D-League. His professional career started in Mobile Revelers in the NBA D-League. After Revelers he played for many teams in the ABA and World Basketball Association (WBA) Championship. In 2007 he played for Fuerza Regia in Mexico and the next two years he played in the NBA for the Toronto Raptors. He continued in the NBA with Miami Heat, Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Clippers before going back to NBA Development League for the Los Angeles D-Fender. Moon has played 286 games in the NBA with an average of 6.3 points and 4.3 rebounds per game.

Rethymno Aegean signed Callistus Eziukwu to replace Alexander Kwame. Eziukwu started the season in Italy with Virtus Roma but didn't satisfied the team. Before Italy Eziukwu was playing in Greece for Panelefsiniakos and before that in Ukraine for SC Kryvbas and Mykolaiv.

Apollon Patras signed Ronald Ross

Apollon Patras signed Ronald Ross. The 30 years old American was playing in Croatia for Jolly Jadranska Banka Sibenik. Ross had previously played in Germany for MBC,Art Dragons and Ludwisburg and in Israel for Maccabi Haifa and BC Habikaa. Ross will probably replace Paul Hill Junior who was signed to replace Joseph Taylor. Ross will be in Patras on Thursday and will be available to play against Panathinaikos for Greek Basket League day 13.

Mark Payne named MVP of twelfth day

Mark Payne named MVP of Greek Basket League twelfth day. Payne scored 22 points, collected 9 rebounds, served 2 assists and made no turnover in 24 minutes. This is the third time a player of PAOK is named MVP of the day, after Michalis Tsairelis on fourth day and DJ Cooper on eighth day. For those who love statistics PAOK has the MVP player of the day every four days,  4,8,12.

Olympiacos defeated Nea Kifisia for Greek League twelfth day

Olympiacos hosted and defeated Nea Kifisia for Greek League twelfth day. Nea Kifisia started the game with a 9-1 run with 3/3 three pointers, 2/2 by the veteran Michalis Kakiouzis. The first quarter finished with the team of Nea Kifisia ahead in score by 4 points and finished the first half leading the score by one point, 32-33. Nea Kifisia had 5/13 three pointers in the first half while Olympiacos had 1/10. Darrius Garrett with 7 points and 6 rebounds and Tony Crocker with 9 points were the leaders of AENK in the first half. For Olympiacos Bryant Dunston had 10 points and 5 rebounds in the first half. Kakiouzis with another three pointer, 3/3 up to that moment, reached 11 points and kept the lead for his team in the third quarter. Olympiacos made an 8-2 run in the end of the third quarter and finished it leading the score, for the first time after early first quarter. In the last quarter Nea Kifisia made a counter attack with Liakopoulos and Tsaldaris but Olympiacos with Sloukas, Mantzaris and Spanoulis managed to win the game. Tight victory for Olympiacos and a good game for Nea Kifisia. Vasilis Spanoulis finished the game with 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Kostas Sloukas was the top scorer for Olympiacos with 15 points and 4 rebounds. Michalis Kakiouzis finished the game with 13 points and 8 rebounds. Darrius Garrett missed a double double with 9 points and 9 rebounds, plus 4 blocks.

Rethymno Aegean hosted and lost by Panathinaikos for Greek League twelfth day. The first quarter was a game between Justin Hurtt and Kenny Gabriel against Panathinaikos. Hurtt and Gabriel had scored 9 and 7 points respectively, all the points of Rethymno Aegean in the first quarter and half of the team rebounds. For Panathinaikos Antonis Fotsis had 4 points and 6 rebounds in the first quarter, as many as the whole team of Rethymno. After 13 minutes in the game a third player scored for Rethymno, Aggelopoulos, making the score 22-26. With more players scoring for Rethymno the team approached Panathinaikos in the score with 25-26 with a three pointer by Arbet but Panathinaikos replied with two three pointers in a row. Half time finished with score 35-40. Rethymno Aegean managed to follow Panathinaikos since more players scored, besides Hurtt and Gabriel. For Panathinaikos 11 players have scored in the first half, with a bench depth that most teams in Greek League cannot compete. In the third quarter Panathinaikos broaden the difference with great team play and with double rebounds than Rethymno but also double turnovers. Panathinaikos won a game against a good team that didn't have its bench depth. For Panathinaikos Antonis Fotsis collected 11 rebounds but scored only 7 points and missed a double double. James Gist didn't miss a shot with 6/6 two pointers, 1/1 free throw and 1/1 three pointer, while Stephane Lasme missed only one shot, 6/7 two pointers and 2/2 free throws. Panelefsiniakos hosted and defeated KAOD for Greek League twelfth day. KAOD won Olympiacos in a great victory but didn't manage to double its victories against Panelefsiniakos. Panelefsiniakos took the lead of the game after the fifth minute and kept it until the end. Manolis Papamakarios, 15 points and 5 assists, Mouhammad Faye, 15 points and 7 rebounds, Larry Turner, 10 points and 6 rebounds, Rob Jones, 14 points and 5 rebounds, were a quartet that could not lose by J'Covan Brown, 20 points, and Nikola Marković, 11 points and 7 rebounds. In an almost balanced game in statistics, Panelefsiniakos was better in two pointers and free throws accuracy.

Aries Trikala defeated Aris for Greek League twelfth day

Aries Trikala hosted and defeated Aris for Greek League twelfth day. First quarter was great for the hosting team that scored 27 points and managed to keep the difference until the half time. In the 35th minute Sarikopoulos gave Aris the lead for the first time with one point, 40-41. Third quarter finished with equal score 50-50 but in the beginning of the fourth quarter Aries Trikala made a 10-3 run and regained a small difference. Aris lowered the difference with Sarikopoulos, Athinaiou and Vezenkov. In the last minute the scored was 66-60. Then Aris scored a three pointer with Pelekanos, two points with Sarikopoulos and another three pointer with Sarikopoulos, taking the lead by 66-68. Aries Trikala didn't score, Sarikopoulos missed two free shots but home team didn't score again and Athinaiou made the score 66-69. Jeremy Granger scored a three pointer in the last second and the game finished equal in normal time. Aris collected more rebounds than Aries Trikala in the normal time (28-42) but the hosting team had an almost perfect game with only 6 turnovers! In the extra time Jeremy Granger and Patrick Ewing Junior scored 6 points in a row before Athinaiou and Sarikopoulos counter attack with their 5 points in a row. Great game in the extra time too. The game ended with a dunk from Patrick Ewing Junior and Aries Trikala winning after a quality game. Patrick Ewing Junior scored 20 points and collected 8 rebounds. Jeremy Granger scored 21 points and collected 5 rebounds. For Aris, Sarikopoulos Zisis with 13 points and 9 rebounds, Athinaiou Giannis with 21 points and 7 assists and Pelekanos Michalis 18 points and 8 rebounds were the top players.

Apollon Patras took the lead with 13-9 in the first quarter but Panionios finished the first half ahead by one point and didn't miss the lead until the end. For Apollon Patras Jeremiah Wilson finished the game with a double double, 19 points and 11 rebounds, and Demarius Bolds scored 22 points. For Panionios Kevin Langford scored 22 points with 6 rebounds and Errick McCollum 16 points and 5 assists. It was a tight game with many fouls. Apollon Patras made 22 and Panionios 33 fouls. PAOK hosted and defeated Ilisiakos for Greek League twelfth day. Ilisiakos started the game with good tempo and led the score by 15-17 and was following PAOK in the first half. In the second half Ilisiakos scored 7 points in the third and 10 in the fourth quarter and lost the game with a broad difference. PAOK collected 51 rebounds in total and made only 9 turnovers. DJ Cooper finished the game with 10 assists in 23 minutes. Mark Payne scored 22 points and collected 9 rebounds, missing a double double. Olympiacos signed Mardy Collins

Olympiacos signed Maurice Rodney "Mardy" Collins. Ace Law is injured and will not be playing for about one and a half month, so Olympiacos searched and made another addition to its roster. Mardy Collins is 29 years old, 198 centimeters high and was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Temple University and was Knicks draftee in 2006, pick number 26 overall. As a professional he has played for New York Knicks and Los Angeles Clippers in the NBA. Then he played for Bornova Belediye in Turkey, Jiangsu Dragons in China, Los Angeles D-Fenders in NBA-D League, Maccabi Ashdod in Israel, Guaros de Lara in Venezuela and finally for Sutor Montegranaro in Italy. With Sutor Montegranaro Collins played a friendly against Olympiacos and scored 12 points. In the same tournament Collins was the top scorer of Sutor Montegranaro against Rethymno Aegean with 24 points and 2 three pointers.
